"When The Heart Turns Cold 1 & 2" by Charlotte Marshall-Murray
My Thoughts.....
This was a good adult fiction read and involves romance but then that goes down hill soon due to infidelity.
Book 1 was about Nala and Kendrick Jordan having it all... good jobs and marriage but would that be enough for this couple?
Book 2... We find as Nala Jordan is getting more busy with her job of teaching, writing books and also a criminal psychologist...working non stop which also involved traveling and with all of that having less time for her husband Kendrick. Well that's when another person comes becomes involved with her husband. And that's when I will say things are about to happen now! I found I couldn't understand nor believe that husband! What is it to that saying...."What was done in the dark has come to light and this time Nala is all cried out"especially after she comes home earlier? Now, what will she find?
This is where I say you will simply have to pick this one up because this story gets even more interesting and we are left wanting to see how well this author brings it all out this story. How will "Dr. Nala Jordan, famous criminal psychologist and her handsome witty, husband Professor Jordan" make it out of this mess that it all up and front? The reader will have you wanting even more that is coming out in the next series..."When The Heart Turns Cold 3."

Wow! You're in a for ride time this one! The author must done quite a bit of research as it is quite detailed in several aspects of the storyline. A couple of tv shows come to mind when reading this.
Nala has a rising career being a criminal psychologist at a university, an author & one to assist the police with serial killers. She is very focused & in demand. Kendrick, her husband has the wandering eye & given certain circumstances is caught cheating again. Despite warnings & the fact he does seem to love her he throws it all away. Nalas life unravels & her work is paralleled.
Prior to this we get an insight into her work esp serial killers, while detailed, I found it quite interesting. Kendrick also working as a professor succumbs to his secretaries advances. While I may have told you the story it's much more than that. There's the buildup, setting the scene, day to day life, the interactions that hooks you into this tale.
Let's say Nala had it all or so she thought but work got in the way. As for Kendrick he was a first class idiot. Enough said you'll see for yourself. Crystal you can guess her intentions from the beginning.
If you like a good, suspenseful,hot, crime thriller you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to read Book 3.

The Devil is in the Details
I like the in depth character and back ground development for the most part, but at times found myself wondering where is the story and how can I cut to it already! I was surprised that the sociopath turns out to be Nala and not Crystal. How could she NOT see Crystal for who she really was when the study of human behavior is her bread and butter? How did she miss all of the compliments, smiles and terms of affection for her man from this random woman without being suspicious of her? I mean, really?!?!?! That part, this obvious disregard of the blatant disrespect, infuriated me. Kendrick is, was and always will be a dog regardless of whom he's with so my real question is, why target strangers when the source of Nala's anger, hurt and overall disdain is Kendrick?
I'll continue the saga, however if books 1 and 2 weren't merged together, I wouldn't have continued. It took to long to capture my interest.

No perfect love!
Nala and Kendrick were the perfect couple (at least ) we thought! They had it going on and Nala is a renowned criminal psychologist who is writing books, interviewing serial killers and having her own nightmares. Kendrick loves his wife but starting to feel neglected as Nala travels on her book tour. Crystal is new in town and Kendricks new secretary. Flirts and smiles, kissing, touching and then finger fuc#ing.....Crystal has one man on her mind and she wants him at all costs. Nala is devastated when she finds Kendrick and Crystal together and now payback will be a mutha. Will she be able to allude the police as she starts her own project for cheating azz men!

Cold heart/ hot story/ loved it
Excellent storyline. Lots of love until Crystal .....Dr. Jordan should have told hubby to get a new Secretary, she knew he was fresh. Ladies we don't need unmarried girlfriends looking at your man, it can end badly. This is a thriller gone wild, a real page Turner that leaves you wanting more. Book two is crazy what will book three be crazy plus plus......

Well dang she done became a serial killer
This is my first time reading a book like this n i must say it is a very interesting book i can't believe the Nala turned into a serial killer i feel so bad tht she has to resort to tht after finding out Kendrick cheated on her in their home i truly hope hin n Crystal get what's coming to them now i'm finna read part 3 to c what happens nxt

Double wow
The author laid out this story so well...from Dr. Jordan's lectures to her criminal profiling to her loving, sexy marriage. She lined this up and then, BOOM. She dropped that bomb you weren't close to prepared for. This story is so unique, the most twisted version of a woman scorned....just shaking my head. And the details were so on point, I dare say a lot of research went into this. Well done. Can't wait to see how this plays out. Highly recommended.

Boring
I kept reading waiting for the plot to build. It never came. The part that was supposed to be pivotal was not exciting. I tortured myself through book one because the book was recommended and went halfway through book 2. I was disappointed in the book overall and the climax.

I'm loving this book, it resonate to my feelings of all men cheat and that's why I'm single. I usually don't read suspense books but I'm truly digging this one. Ready to read book 3

Good read
It was full of emotions that every woman goes through after finding out her man her King the one she gave it all too betrayed her for a side piece. Also I guess we are all capable of killing if you push us enough.

There's no fury like a woman scorned
At first the book was dragging but baby when it picked up it picked up. I know there's a lot of women that can relate to Nala Jordan. I can't wait to start book 2 please keep them coming.

Different and unexpected
Being an avid fan of the show Criminal Minds, this book was right up my alley. It was amazing to see how perfect their marriage appeared to others and on many levels to them in book one, only to see the mirror image or facade slide away and the true image appear. Great Job!!! Highly recommended. Will definently be on the look out for part 3.

Crazy
Just when I thought I was going to be able to predict this book ... BOOM plot twist ! Kendrick makes me sick .. from the first time Crystal was coming on to him he should’ve transferred her from then ! Nala didn’t deserve any of that ! I’m just scared She’s becoming one of the people she helps catch ... can’t wait to read part 3
