My favorite kind of enemies to lovers romance, Eli is fun and fast-paced, with creative characters and a very happy ending. The second book in Shaw Montgomery’s Leashes & Lace series, there is some overlap of the storylines and I’d recommend reading these books in order.
Broke and reeling from a devastating breakup, professional photographer Roman accepts a job at Leashes & Lace. Sassy models rule the roost, and Eli is the most outrageous of them all. Eli’s flamboyant self-confidence immediately attract Roman’s attention, (and how sexy he looks in his lacy panties doesn’t hurt either). Roman is the first to admit that brats are his kryptonite, and resisting Eli turns out to be impossible.
A complex character, Eli is living a double life. He hasn’t come out to his family and is torn between pleasing them as Elijah and being true to himself as Eli. For me, watching this poised, assertive young man work through his journey is a highlight of the story.
Roman and Eli have scorching hot chemistry and I love watching them get together. Between the clash of these two high-spirited characters, the sexy lingerie, and Shaw Montgomery’s trademark erotic sex scenes Eli starts off with a bang and never lets up.
Kenneth Obi turns in a wonderful performance in the audio edition of Eli. His gruff, dommy voice is perfect for Roman, and it’s obvious how much fun he has with bratty Eli.

This was ok. It was basically the same as pretty much every other book by this author. It's really annoyed me that there wasn't any physical descriptions of the mcs in this book. Hair colour? Eye colour? Dick size? (lol)...no idea.
Even tho the sex scenes are fairly graphic they just don't come across as sexy to me for some reason. I think this authors writing style is more sickly sweet instead of hot and sexy!

Fenici, adoro questa serie, l’autrice riesce a prendermi sin dalla prima pagina e non riesco a staccare fino a quando non arrivo alla fine.
Eli è il comproprietario della Leashes & Lace, l’azienda che vende biancheria sexy per uomini; a lui piace stare al centro dell’attenzione e si fa fotografare con i prodotti che propone, ha anche un blog personale in cui si mostra con l’intimo che preferisce.
È molto seguito e la società ha bisogno di un nuovo fotografo, ma il ragazzo che ha passato la selezione trova Eli troppo esuberante, non lo sopporta, però si sente ogni giorno più attratto da lui…
Questo secondo volume è effervescente, come il nostro protagonista, Eli, che si fa fotografare in biancheria femminile per uomini, per il proprio blog e per il sito del negozio online Leashes & Lace.
È un personaggio molto sopra le righe, adora flirtare con tutti, non gli crea problemi girare sempre mezzo nudo al lavoro, molto spesso anche eccitato, insomma una “regina” che adora stare al centro dell’attenzione.
Quando arriva Roman, il nuovo fotografo, derubato dal suo ex dopo aver spiattellato la loro vita di coppia sui social, tra i due esplodono scintille, ma che dico scintille, razzi nucleari.
Eli mi fa impazzire, provoca Roman fino allo sfinimento, ma comunque risulta sempre dolcissimo e fragile, tanto che non ho potuto non parteggiare per lui fin dall’inizio.
L’autrice è stata bravissima a farmi percepire tutte le loro emozioni, anche se si trattava di scegliere dell’intimo di pizzo.
E la passione? Incredibile, ti entra sotto pelle ed è come guardare uno spettacolo teatrale, ma tu sei lì sul palco con loro, vorresti toccarli.
Un’incredibile storia d’amore e di rinascita dopo la sofferenza, di accettazione del proprio genere anche davanti alla propria famiglia.

OMG...Eli! I wanted to tie him to the nearest tree and throw things at him! Most of the people he worked with would have helped me. We don't want to hurt him...just make him shut-up. I really like this series, but I found Eli's behavior to be more than annoying. Roman, the new photographer, took his actions much better than most people would have...gay or straight. To make it even more confusing, Eli's hatred made no sense whatsoever. Roman is a Dom with a capital D... maybe that was why he stuck with bratty Eli. In hindsight, I did feel compassion for Eli in equal measures as I wanted to...well not kill him...but just make him be quiet long enough to see what he can have with Roman. Eli's mother was beyond impossible.... but instead of standing up to her...Eli hid deeper in his closet, closed and locked the door...turned out the light and allowed her to continue to set up dates with every available woman she knew. So much for Eli and on to Roman. Roman just got out of a relationship that ended in a really bad way. His ex- took almost all his money and skipped town. He didn't want or need another brat in his life, but he ended up working with the biggest brat he has ever met...and finds to his amazement that he more than likes him! If you read the story, just stay patient and you will end up admiring Roman and actually liking Eli...the over-the-top drama queen. Go figure.

Eli runs on a similar timeline to Houston. We got to know a little of Roman & Eli's relationship from Houston's book. I was looking forward to their story & they didn't disappoint!!
Roman is a photographer just hired by Leashes & Lace to take pictures for their website. After a messy break up he's keen to avoid any drama.
Eli is a flirty, fun loving model/blogger/one of the owners of Leashes & Lace.
They immediately get off to a rocky start...
Roman is determined to keep Eli and his drama at a distance. Eli is not the type to be kept away. Their contact together is explosive - both as enemies and lovers.
"I tried to get as many shots in as I could before he started leaking drama out all over my shoot again."
"I had no delusions about the type of guy I needed in my life. Someone who wouldn't mind my crazy leaking out on a regular basis."
Roman & Eli were super hot together once they managed to sort their shit out & the photo shoots became amazing - in the good way this time..
I will say I got a bit sick of the use of the work Brat. It didn't work for me as a pet name & I found it too repetitive and a little annoying.
Overall a great story in the series & I look forward to reading more!!

Huh. Compared to how crazy over the top he seemed in Houston's book, Eli seemed a lot calmer in this one. The rants weren't there and Roman felt like the one in the wrong with all his whore accusations. There was closet issues with Eli's mother and the psycho ex boyfriend, that oddly went away easily enough. The reunion was awkward but ones things were sorted it was pretty much just sex and fell flat.

Re-read 8/24-25/20:
Much hotter being on the inside of Eli and Roman's fights than reading about them in Houston and Reece's story. And I'd forgotten how Lane's story was teased out here, although I remembered that Casey and Preston had just a little bit of foreshadowing this early. Nice hints, too, about Devin and Spencer!

Not I was not expecting this!
Some things I expect are a car good read, kink to be an aspect not center stage, characters that are deep and complex, and a story that'll warm my heart. I got all of that and more. I didn't expect to feel so strongly for these guys. I figured the scorch level would be off the charts and it sure was but there was so much more to these guys than anger and passion. In fact this book is a prime example of what can happen when you try to understand the reasons behind another person's actions. Amazingly written with hints of who we might be seeing as the series progresses. I will be eagerly awaiting each book and looking for every update.

Eli & Roman were two firecrackers! Feisty, angry and frustrated they annoyed the hell out of each other. Both guys had their own issues but didn’t communicate well and this left people around them really uncomfortable. Once they were on the same page their chemistry really lit up and a little light and sweetness came in ❤️

This was a great story! I thought Eli was gonna drive me nuts but I actually liked him a lot more in his own story then I did in the first book of the series. Roman was hawt and the Dom in him really had me goin. He was a perfect match for Eli and I'm so glad the author didnt make us through all their fights again to get to the good stuff. This was one of my favorote books and I look forward to then next!! Thank you Shaw Montgomery for an amazing series!

I liked this better than the first, but still problematic. Ugh, I wish I didn't like her characters as much as I end up doing.

Eli (sub, model & co-owner of Leashes & Lace) & Roman (Dom, photographer for Leashes & Lace).
Eli officially enters my top five of M.A. Innes/ Shaw Montgomery characters:
* besties Ryland and Finn (from “Unexpected” and “Unconventional”),
* “hubbies” Kevin & Jeremy (from “To Close to Love” et al.), and
* Eli (from “Leashes and Lace”).
(That’s in order that I met them, not in order of favorites.)
This is Eli’s book, but in some ways, this is Eli’s series. He’s the heart of Leashes & Lace. Preston plays bossman, handling hiring and the books, but Eli is the creative center, not only modeling and blogging, but choosing the fashion, and playing mother hen with his fellow models.
He’s a flirty, fabulous ball of enthusiasm covering up a keen mind and huge heart. He’s also a big brat, but this is his family, his safe space, and there is no way he’s going to shove his light under a bushel for anyone.
Strangely enough, the only employee that stuck around without surrendering to Eli’s charms immediately was Roman. A snarly genius of a photographer who got burned badly by his ex who was also a brat. Roman decided to lay in there and push Eli’s buttons, and Eli pushed right back. But the friction of their clashes brought out a passion that made the photographs sing.
Preston and Eli went round and round about whether Roman’s genius was worth the wear and tear on the employees nerves. As Reece predicted, that much passion would either lead them to fuck or set the place on fire.
No fucking, but one night reshoot got pretty intimate. Eli teased that a spanking would show off his panties to their best advantage and he pushed till Roman gave him that spanking. Eli sank into the scene, letting Roman dominate him, playing his body like an instrument, letting the photography go way beyond what they could use at Leashes & Lace.
Poor bewildered Eli came out of the scene a bit dazed and said the wrong thing and Roman was back to screaming. Verbally abusing Eli. That was it, the final straw. Preston used his veto to fire Roman. And that fucked with Eli’s glow big time.
Roman was out of work and scrambling to find a new path forward. Following a suggestion from his cousin, Roman decided to do private BDSM themed boudoir photos for couples. But he needed a portfolio and the X rated pictures of Eli were his best bet. He called Eli hoping to get his permission
to use the intimate photos, only to have Eli offer to model for more, to round out his portfolio.
The photo session started off lifeless. They were both suitable chastised for the mistakes that lead up to Roman getting fired. Finally Roman took the initiative and asked Eli to kneel so they could talk. They admitted their mutual attraction and desire for more than just photographs and suddenly Brat came out as a term of endearment and Eli’s sass, passion, and submission burned up the lens. Eli also got fucked. And thus a sparking, passionate relationship was born.

Worth sticking out
I'm not one to start off a review by saying something negative but this has to be sad because it distracts from nearly everything good. The hatred between Roman and Eli stop got real annoying real fast. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be enduring or witty, kind of like how hate to love romances have that witty banter people love so much. Personally I hate hate to love romances so maybe that's why I feel some type of way about this one but yeah, their arguing was not it sis. I'm saying this as a die-hard Sean Montgomery fan, I could not stand these two. Or rather I couldn't stand these two together because apart they honestly weren't bad. In fact I really like Eli on his own. He's an ambitious brat and I can relate to that. Roman, is he flesh out? I don't know, I couldn't really see the past the sl*t shaming (seriously I know this is an older but for Shaw but come on, ish wasn't cute in 2018 either). Now enough about that, on to why I'm still giving it 4 stars.
When this book gets good, oh does it get good! The smut is through the roof hot. I'm talking the whole street is on fire hot. And when they're not at each other's necks, Eli and Roman are a pretty cute couple. I'm not going to say adorable because I don't think that's a word that should ever be used to describe these two but they're sweet and their own way.
I really wish this book spent more time showing them as a couple or at least showing them getting together and working through their issues because seriously half this book was them screaming at each other. And that is to say that this book does a lot more telling than showing by way of their hatred. I'm talking most of the time they were thinking about that how much they hate each other or talking to someone else about how much they hate each other. It was weird.
And don't even get me started about how their hatred made very little sense. On Roman's end, way to judge someone before you know them. As for Eli, I get it for the most part but why didn't he fire Roman again, exactly? I still don't fully understand.
I still love this because like I said when it gets good, oh dear Lord Almighty is it amazing. I would definitely say that this is one worth sticking out if you're kind of like me and over hate to love romances. It gets cute and the D/s is fad. I wouldn't say it's perfect for a kink novice but it's definitely not intimidating either. 4 stars because I have a problem.

Eli know who he is and is tired of hiding it, he is not just in the closet to his family, he is so far in that he is starting to lose himself. His family thinks of him as Elijah the straight and boring businessman whereas he is actually Eli the blogger and lingerie model to everyone else. Eli begins to realise just home much it is affecting every part of his life, especially with the photographer Roman who drives him crazy. Roman is tired of drama queens and the insanity around them even though they are sexy and make his pulse race. After a bad breakup that left him broke and very sceptical for getting involved again, especially with brats who feed off drama, he feels cornered as his new start at Leashes and Lace feels very similar to his history with Eli being a brat all of the time. When killing each other isn’t an option, there’s only one way to release all the passion that flares between them, but sex can’t solve everything…or can it?

Superb series, laugh out loud, men’s lingerie, sex that’s believable
The greatest thing about this series is that the original characters stay throughout the series, so you still have them around. Eli is still the same crazy brat, interfering, mouthy and so generous with his care for his created family. Preston & Roman both stoical in the face of a tornado (Eli) but so much more.
Shaw Montgomery has created characters with depth, who have fun and wild times with glorious sexy lingerie for men. I read around 200 books a year and these are the first M/M Romance books that I’ve read more than once. So much joy tumbles out of the early books and then we get to the slightly more subdued characters who need a different touch & Shaw delivers.
I don’t write a lot of reviews for this genre but this series is too good, it has to be acknowledged, can’t wait for the next one.

This is the first book I'd truly consider to be an enemies to lovers story from this author, who is one of my favorites, and I am impressed with the tension she creates. Eli and Roman are each more than their outer appearance would suggest. They are each good men who've gone through a lot, and their actions are based on the pasts that shaped them. That doesn't mean that they don't both need to be shaken - especially Roman, who can be cruel with his words. When they step back to see each other differently, a sweet love story evolves.
Shaw Montgomery creates characters who grab a reader's heart, and it's great to be able to revisit them. Reece and Houston from book one show up here, which makes me happy, and I look forward to reading more about them, as well as Eli and Roman, in future stories. Also, I'd love to work at Leashes & Lace with these terrific people!

Holly smokes.. This story is hot as the two really need to get together badly. The sassyness of Eli had them both reacting in anger but really there just fighting the feelings in them. This includes some hot scenes of BDSM they sizzle. Eli is definitely a Queen but he works hard for the businesses with Preston, it isn't until Roman goes that Eli realises a few things.. This series is a fantastic so far and I cant wait for the next book..please please

WOW!
I was really looking forward to Eli & Roman's story, especially with how they came across in book 1, Houston.
I have to admit to being worried though. Would it be that Eli & Roman got over whatever their issues were, super fast and end up sleeping together really fast or would one push the other way and nothing happen until the very end?
I'm not going to give away WHICH path the story took but I will say this ~ The insults they traded towards each other were fantastic as a way of showing both the sexual and personal frustration towards each other. I loved how Eli, once he realised the WHY of Roman's behaviour, sort of understood Roman, albeit begrudgingly.
Both characters were really well well written, as was the story.

Good read about a male lingerie model (Eli) who co-owns a modeling agency. The agency hires a new photographer (Roman) who was just screwed over by his boyfriend. Eli struts around in front of everyone, including Roman, sometimes nude, always aroused when modeling his lingerie and totally reminds Roman of his ex. Roman and Eli clash frequently but the modeling sessions are erotic, steamy and drool worthy.
Lots of male hotness in this book and my only complaint (and its not much of one) is that toward the end the focus turned to the romance (yes, steamy and erotic) but left the modeling agency in the background. The BDSM in this is very lite. I don't know why but this read seemed a lot different from my normal M/M books and I liked it, a lot.

One this is for sure Eli is definitely a Brat and Roman is the Dom to bring him to his knees.
Eli and Roman start off with a bang, they clash and argue with everything and seem to just bring out the anger in each other, yet when they see past their defences and really look at each other things heat up and take a turn for the better.
I really enjoyed they story, it is well written and the characters are very dimensional. I liked watching Eli and Roman throw insults at each other and then dirty talk each other when they finally got together.
The one and only thing I would have enjoyed more was if they spent more time getting to know each other better before they said “I love you”, but other than that the story is fun and enjoyable.

Leggendo il libro precedente non sapevo bene cosa aspettarmi, tutto sommato un buon volume, alcune cose mi hanno fatto sorridere, per come era iniziata la storia tra i due non me lo aspettavo, spero che la serie migliori ancora andando avanti. Lo sviluppo della storia mi è piaciuto, sotto certi aspetti un po’ più del primo, I litigi di Eli e Roman hanno riempito molte pagine e reso le cose difficili a Reece e al suo rapporto con Houston, mettendoli anche un po’ in ombra. Ho apprezzato che si scopre di più dei protagonisti e della loro vita, le esperienze e i motivi dietro certi comportamenti, così come della vita degli altri personaggi, si creano collegamenti e si gettano le basi per i futuri volumi.

Eli and Roman are so much fun. Their passion just explodes and will either destroy or be the best thing ever. I had a lot of fun reading this book and can't wait to see them in the next book in this series.
Eli is such a feisty character that likes to be out there and push people's buttons. He is more than his surface appearance. Roman just got out of a relationship that ended in a bad way. He didn't want another brat in his life, but of course he ends up working with the biggest brat he has ever met. They might need some help to figure out who the other person really is.

Brat...
I got this book because I read the first one and while I liked Reese and Houston I could not stand Eli. So I figured I would give him a try in this book, but my view still stands I don't like Eli.
The word Brat really describes him. It's one thing to be a drama clean and have an alter ego but he seemed over the top. I find it hard to believe that someone who is working on an MBA is that unprofessional at work, even if it is his company.
Now to the writing style. This book is a prime example of why some writers should not be published. The flow was off and the story seemed weak.
I don't think I will read anymore by this author.

Eli's bratty selfishness and Romans defensive anger got Roman fired as a photographer for Leashes & Lace, but when he asks Eli for some help they finally work out their differences and five a relationship a chance.
Once the two finally got together I really liked the story. The interactions between the two men were very sexy and sometimes even sweet. I don't dislike him as much as I did in the first book, but I am still not overly fond of Eli. Being bratty is one thing but he is just too self centered for me. Things with him and Roman were resolved a little too easily and the stuff with Ken didn't really go anywhere.

After meeting Eli and Roman in Houston's book, I've been dying for their story! Eli is such a brat I absolutely love it and it definitely makes for some really hot and sexy times. Roman is just perfect for Eli and knows how to keep him in line, and if not, he definitely knows how to punish him! Their back and forth banter and arguing right from the start are the perfect build up for their sexual tension that finally explodes! Kenneth Obi did a fantastic performance on this one. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.
