The Deadly series is best read in order to grasp the intricately woven stories and relationships. This particular book is about Ryder and Skye but their story began before when they "accidentally" got married in Vegas.
What I love about this series and this book in particular is the women are strong but the men are still protective despite it. Each couple perfectly imperfect when they get together and the obstacles they go through just makes the relationship stronger.
This Smithy/P.I.G.S family keeps growing and I can't wait to see what is next for the family to pull together to help fix.
I recommend this series to anyone who likes their books with protective men, independent women, suspense, action, adult situations, interfering family, and love of course.

I was lucky enough to be able to beta read this book.
This author has been able to prefect the line of romance with suspense. When it comes to Skye and Ryder (who is also my favorite hero from this author, yes, I called dibs a long time ago) we see them in a new light. At times I thought it wasn’t my favorite aspect of this story, but looking at the bigger picture, I was able to love this new side to these characters. They have always came across as hard and gruff, but this book showed me a side that I couldn’t help but love and respect.
Add in some awesome twists, great suspense and seeing some amazing secondary characters who we have known since book one in this series, I think the author has stayed true to who these characters are and seeing them grow with time has made me feel part of the group. I still hold out hope for some of the characters to find the love they deserve and can’t wait to see what’s up next in this series. 5 Stars #2OCCJD

Skye has been in love with Ryder for years but never has acted on it. Till one night in Vegas changes everything. Ryder is a stubborn as they come and won't act his feelings for Skye. After that night Skye does everything she can to avoid him even going as far away as London to get away from him. Where she meets her sister Addi who she hasn't seen in while. While they spend some time together and than Skye goes back home. After a few weeks of being home her parents show up and she finds out her sister is missing. When she goes back to London and Ryder follows will they be able to find her and sister and sort out everything before its too late? This book like the rest pulls you in and don't let go. All the emotions and action and everything in between. I can't wait to read the next one.

I have been following the work of this author since her very first books release of this series. I am constantly amazed at the way that this author comes out with these amazing stories. All of her stories have intriguing storylines and have me completely captivated from the very first page.
Deadly Encounter had me one the edge of my seat all the way through the story. Wondering if this couple that I have wanted to get together throughout he series would finally be together. But then add in the added suspense of what happened to Skye's sister had me desperately wanting to find out what was going to happen. This story was an amazing read and I cannot wait to read more about these characters in the next story.
This is a definite book encounter that everyone should have.

I am so loving the Deadly Series. Deadly Encounter was just fantastic, I was hooked from the start of Ryder and skye’ s Story. This book is full of suspense, mystery, romance, anger and love. I love how strong the women are in here and even though they have been through a lot here strength always shines. It’s best to read The Deadly Series in order to get the maximum enjoyment from them all and follow what happens with each character. KL Humphrey’s has a winning series here, now I’m counting down the days till I can read Book 5.

KL Humphreys has done it again. This book had me pulled in from the beginning and so loving this series of this book. This book has some twists and turns but will grab you up and draw you in to the book. Please read the series in order to full understand this book as this is book four. This series is a must read.

They say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, especially if your names are Ryder & Skye, and while Ryder fights his feelings, Skye runs to london to lick her emotional wounds...but this is just the start of the rollercoaster that is an amazing book full of action & suspense, and at the end of it, its about two people finding the courage to trust in their feelings....

K.L. Humphrey knocked it out of the park again! Deadly Encounter is the 4th book in the Deadly series and it does NOT disappoint! Deadly Encounter follows Ryder and Skye's story after their night in Vegas. Skye hops on a plane to do a job in London and suspense soon follows. This is such a great story and I love that the women are just as bada$$ as the men are! Such a great series!!!!!

fourth book in this series and i loved it! he has loved her for so long but he has demons from his past. she has always wanted him. fate brings them together, but a kidnapping could tear them apart. plus she is hiding something from him.

I love this book! Skye wants to communicate and Ryder won't. When the situation of their relationship acquires a little complication, Ryder goes after Skye to help out and they finally start talking. This is a must read!

Woah! This has been one hell of a season. I have been religiously following this series and this book definitely does not disappoint. I loved the characters and getting to know them and the storyline has kept me on the edge of my seat. I love this author's work.

Deadly encounter is perfect. You know part of Ryder and Skyes story but this give you more. Makes you love them more. Makes you rooting for them, not only to be together but to find Skyes sister. To have everything turn up roses. Don’t miss this great read!!

Well Humphreys has done it again! I absolutely love this series. It is suspenseful with romance. There’s twists and turns, drama, heartbreak & action in this book. I could not put this book down. I read it all in one sitting and I can’t wait for the next book!

She ran. With nothing working in her favor and Ryder freaking out she did what she does best she ran until she was ready to face him. There is some good that comes of it and yup plenty of action because of it. When her sister who she finally reconnects with turns up missing she runs to help. This is a great story and as I continue to say my favorite of the series (until I read the next one). These two have played the game for so long now Ryder not only has some real sucking up to do, he gets to go into protector mode when things go south. It's a battle to the finish to make sure everyone safe and of course this author doesn't make it clean and easy. Plenty of action and of course betrayal round out this emotional journey for these two and all of the team as they put family first and do what needs to be done to protect their own.

This is a fantastic series that I loved. When Ryder rejects Skye she runs away but when her sister goes missing the whole team bands together like the family they are. But with Ryder and Skye fighting demons from both their past can they get past it and find Addison and have a future together. Wow I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait for more from this series and these characters. I feel like I know them all. A must read that I would highly recommend to others.

Skye is a woman we can all relate to. A strong but still insecure kick ass lady. I love her to bits. You want to protect her even though shes more than capable of doing that herself.
Ryder is the protective alpha with a tint of asshole. We all want a man like that right?? When you need him, he will always be there whether you want him to or not. In this book, you get to see his soft side, and boy do you swoon.
This book is amazing, the suspence is unreal. An incredible storyline, a sizzling romance and it makes for a book you do not want to put down. Love it!

Deadly Encounter by KL Humphreys is Book 4 in the Deadly Series, a standalone but interlocking series that I recommend be read in order.
Deadly Encounter gives us a closer look into Skye and Ryder and explores their unconventional relationship. It has ups and downs, drama and sex and ends with a HEA and guesses to which couple will feature in Book 5.
I love the ways that each book in the series so far overlaps with the previous book. For example book 4 picks up about half way through the events of book 3 and is told from Skye and Ryders perspective instead and then continues on past where book 3 ended. It is a great skill and an enjoyable writing style for me.

I loved seeing Skye and Ryder's story. I feel it was a fitting way to have their story develop. At parts it was a little slow for me but the ending made it worth it! Humphreys added suspense and kept true to the characters that we had seen in past books. I look forward to more in the future!
