This is a single comic book issue given in the Free Comic Book Day event of 2018, featuring the #0 of an upcoming miniseries, part of “Nightmare Before Christmas” franchise..

Zero’s Journey
Don’t get mistaken due my low rating on this one.
I’m sure that the miniseries will be good, but sadly, in this #0 issue (which is read as in manga), you don’t get any real substance about the story, barely some scenes leading Zero (Jack’s ghost dog) to the tree of Christmas, where he will get trapped there to live an adventure in that joyful land.
And I understood that, thanks to a text page in the comic, explaining that, since the graphic story isn’t that clear about it.
So, I’m glad to have the comic since any product of Nightmate Before Christmas is great to have, but about story’s development, it’s not that fruitful.
This literally took me all of two minutes at maximum to read! As a huge fan of Nightmare Before Christmas (and even having my wedding based off of it) I thought this did it justice. Very cute and very fast to read. Highly suggest if you’re looking to up your goodreads count!
Downloaded for free on kobo , just a small teaser to get you hooked lol the artwork is great really love the art style especially for Jack. If you are a nightmare before Christmas fan you will enjoy these.
This was part of Free Comic Book Day 2018. As such, it is the introduction to a planned 20 issue storyline. It is interesting, but is mostly a trailer for the coming issues - which will then be condensed into graphic novels, before the final deluxe compendium, as we are assured by the publisher.
This is adorable. It's also very short, but it was free, so I'm not complaining. It's a great teaser to give you an idea of whether or not you'll like the rest of the series... but don't expect a plot given that it's only about 30 pages long.
Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero's Journey by D.J. Milky, Illustrated by Studio Dice was a cute teaser into the 20-issue series that will be out soon.
I'm so excited to hear that they will be compiled into four graphic novels and one massive collectors edition manga. We all know I'm going to need that for my shelves!
Well, there really wasn't much to this one...
Like I said in my intro, it's a nice teaser into the upcoming story, but it left me feeling just a little underwhelmed. Especially after how long I was itching to get my hands on a copy. I will say that I enjoyed the artwork though!
Of course I am still very excited to read the full length one when it comes out! I wonder if it will also be in color, or if it will go back to the black and white style of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas by Jun Asuka, but fingers crossed the storyline is stronger in this one... And that they edit, the typo in the Mayors blurb was a little off-putting.
Note: I do not read Manga often and am a lover of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Zero feels left out and unloved so he goes off on his own to the other holidays and while he is welcome, it isn't the same.
The graphics are grand and the story is fairly predictable (think Goldilocks, trying out the chairs or beds) yet I think it will appeal to fans of the move of the younger set since it isn't spooky.
I am a huge fan of anything Nightmare before Christmas or Tim Burton, so the manga was right up my alley. I am curious to see how the rest of zero’s story goes throughout the manga series. I am hoping more holidays will be shown besides the two main ones -Christmas & Halloween-. The artwork is really well down and Zero is absolutely adorable.
This definitely reminded me of the movie. The artwork was wonderful, along with maintaining that unique feeling that the Nightmare Before Christmas brings to its audience. With going with the alternate perspective of Zero, it brings a new touch along with being a great introduction to this series.
This is a manga so it is printed "backwards" compared.to English. The company Tokyo pop printed a lot of old manga classics so to speak. I seen some people complain that the book is backwards - I've never seen a Tokyo pop printed American style. That said it isn't too hard to figure out how to read. The kids loved that it was in color.
Graphically this manga is astounding. Plot wise, it’s lacking. This beginning to Zero’s Journey series is super short. So short that I really don’t want to buy the next chapter because $2.00 for like 7 pages of story is a little ridiculous. However, I’m a sucker for the Nightmare Before Christmas so the chances of me buying the next installment is high.
This is a short comic about Zero going on a journey. In this story, he tries to get Jack’s attention, but Jack is too busy. When Jack finally takes a moment to play, he throws Zero’s bone for him to fetch. However, something unexpected happens, and Zero ends up crashing through the Christmas tree—marking the beginning of his adventure.
This was so adorable! My 2 year old LOVES zero. So it was fun reading her this comic. She giggled a lot. I will be definitely buying all the comics, just for my little one! Thank you so much!!
It reads Japanese style. Color artwork. Very little dialogue. A story of zero being sent to another holiday. It helps if you have seen the nightmare before Christmas by burton.
Great drawing. Seems like only a piece of a story. Presented poorly for English readers: pages presented right to left and story seems to be read right panels to left panel. The presentation is more Japanese than American.
The artwork here was super pretty! This nightmare before Christmas comic was a super fast little read & very entertaining to look at. I had to stop reading and just admire several of the drawings. :)
Very very very short was hoping it would be a little longer. The artwork is amazing, it'd be cool if there was some dialogue as to what Zero is thinking. The story feels like it's just starting but then it ends. Hence the 2 stars.
I found this book, this manga as a quick read. But I have to say the drawings, and color scheme was very cute, and pretty for a short story like this! Any Disney fan, and/or fan of 5h3 original movie will adore this book!
