His lust could devour them. Her love will free them both.
After being left for dead by her people, Aliena wakes up under the care of alien pirates. She escapes, only to be captured by a creature straight from her darkest nightmares, bent on the destruction of everything she holds dear.
An Eok warrior turned outlaw, Kamal is one to be reckoned with. He is on a mission for the Eok nation, and his only goal is to find and save the humans before he can return to his old life. He has no intention of allowing a headstrong human female to get in his way.
As Aliena embarks on a mission to rescue her uncle from Minister Knut’s clutches, Kamal is at a crossroads. If he chooses to help the human, the price might well be his own life.
When the Mating Venom unleashes its torment, Kamal has to decide. Will he change his ways and claim Aliena’s heart, or is the life of an outlaw too hard to leave behind?
Publisher’s Note: This steamy, thrilling sci-fi romance is the second in the Eok Warriors series, however it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
Mary grew up in the quiet peace of a small rural village in the heart of Quebec, Canada.
She spent her childhood chasing butterflies and catching frogs, playing in the mud and generally being as unladylike as she could. Her love of science led her to complete a mechanical engineering degree at the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal, where she met the love of her life. Years later, as she enjoyed the role of full time mom to her two wonderful children, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. She now write as much as her busy schedule allows to bring to life her inner world, filled with exotic planets, mysterious creatures and off course, hot, alpha heroes and the women who melt their hearts.
When she's not writing, she can be found in the garden, walking her dogs or playing with fire in her kitchen as a part time hit-or-miss chef.
This is the second book I have read by this author, and I am enjoying the story as the books go on, as some unanswered questions get answered in this book.
Humans were known as nothing but breeding cattle to some of the alien races in the galaxy. But one such human has survived the odds and now becomes a prisoner to pirates, who have been sent to Earth to protect them from other cruel species. Ailena fights and shows just how strong human women can be. Fate has brought her to him, his bloodmate. A thing that has seemed as a legend and has not been seen for a long, long time.
It is a good sci-fi romance read to escape from life for a few hours.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💜🩷💙💚 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: ☹️😄😍😮 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Aliena - she lives in a time when humans no longer reside freely on Earth. Humans were near extinction when they were rounded up and forced to live in breeding facilities to keep them from extinction but also to be sold to the highest bidder, and the sale of a human female can give the seller enough wealth for generations. Aliena is a human woman and had been living in a village of free humans, her parents had long ago escaped the breeding facilities, but their village was overrun by aliens looking for free humans and everyone had fled their homes. She suddenly wakes up among space pirates, not knowing how she got there. She remembered being alone and cold, so sick that her family left her outside where aliens could find her, in hopes they could save her.
The Hero:Kamal - he is an outlaw, a captain of a pirate ship and an Eok warrior. He was taking care of an honor duty to his family and the Eok nation, by finding and saving all the free humans. He tells his crew that the female they found was off limits, though they were outlaws, so they followed his rules about as much as they followed laws. Kamal needed the female to tell where the rest of the free humans were, in order to prove to the council that free humans exist, in order to change the laws and keep the humans out of the hands of the ministers who would kill them to keep their monopoly on the humans in the breeding facilities, and keeping the wealth it brought them.
The Story: Aliena finds herself on a ship with alien space pirates and the one attending to her seemed to like to hurt her and wanted her to tell him where he could find her friends and family. When she felt that she had been implanted with a universal translator like all slaves to be sold, she knew what was in store for her, and she tried to fight back and make a run for it. She made it fairly far before she was found by her worst nightmare, a huge and fierce Eok Warrior.
I liked the story and the characters, including the crew member who was a liar and an outlaw. The alien was the only medically trained member of the crew so Kamal couldn’t get rid of him. One thing I didn’t like about this book was the heroine’s name. Aliena in an alien romance is pretty on the nose, and she was the human, so technically not even the alien in the romance. The story about finding the people from her village was a good one, and it wasn’t as simple as telling them that the Eok’s want to save them, but they have some pretty big prejudices against the Eoks. There is also some great backstory on how Kamal came to be an outlaw pirate.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Vivian Ferrari and Justin Hill. Vivian has a soft, clear voice that is very pleasant. You can tell she is reading, but she does show emotion through her voice. Justin Hill has a deep voice with a bit of an accent, probably British. I am not fond of his voice, and you can definitely tell he is reading, but I have heard much worse.
We continue this series back on Earth and this is a stand-alone focusing on a different couple, reading book one will definitely give you more of an overall insight into the world structure here as the general story carries on from its predecessor. So here we meet Rose’s cousin Aliena and Kamal a pirate and brother of the first book's hero Karian.
In the previous book Kamal who has been estranged for years from his Eok family, for reasons unknown, goes to Earth to attempt to find the human settlement. Instead, he discovers a very sick female, near death, who had been left out in the snow for the aliens to find and hopefully save.
Instantly recognising Aliena as his potential mate Kamal struggles with his own feelings of sense of self-worth believing he isn’t what she needs. Since distancing himself from his family Kamal has operated as a pirate something he is only now when it comes to his new human mate ashamed of. Initially, he tries to resist the mating venom flooding his body but Kamal inevitably succumbs when he is given little choice and to his surprise, Rose turns out to be his blood-mate.
Now the two are in a race to rescue and save her extended family and fellow humans from a persistent relentless enemy. This journey will take them far away from Earth and into some very real danger that may just mean their very lives.
I enjoyed this a lot but again Aliena is a TSTL heroine just like her headstrong cousin she constantly thinks she’s more capable than she actually is and her need to prove this puts all in danger time and time again. She was not quite as bad as Rose but I’m starting to sense a theme here. Still, I did like her and her heart was definitely in the right place. Kamal was an absolute sweetheart i definitely preferred him to his brother he is much more open and willing to show his inner feelings he’s also a lot more transparent.
This had danger and romance and so much chemistry I’m enjoying this series a whole lot. It has a decent plot and an engaging style of narration. I’m definitely reading the next book so If sci-alien romance is your jam then this series is a good one.
The characters were a lot more bearable, no bashing heads till bloody this time. I feel like there was even more substance to the plot which is something cause I didn't think it was an issue in the first book. *shrugs* It's pretty much as the blurb says but it could definitely use a little more romance. I still feel like I'm being told rather than shown... It's very insta-which mind you is not a problem for me-but I don't see why it's insta. Special snowflake, precious unicorn aside I can't tell what makes these women bloodmate worthy?
But I'm really excited about the next book! I didn't even know there was a next book. Though I did know who it was about.
I'm still really enjoying this series. The Eok nation has decided to help protect the last remaining humans and liberate them from slavery. Kamal is sent to Earth to find the hidden village of rare free-living humans. What he ends up finding is a really ill Aliena. He manages to save her with the unintentional side-effect of developing hot intense feelings for her.
Poor Kamal thinks he has dishonored his family and has been living on the fringes as a pirate. He must learn that he is worthy of Aliena's love. The one thing that annoyed me a little was that Kamal was constantly telling Aliena to hide/stay back from danger but she would inevitably ignore his request. They'd both get into trouble but she'd somehow always miraculously save the day.
Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live, Venomous Hunger is a SC-Fi Romance set in a future world where humans have no freedom. Most having been captured and kept in breeding facilities and then sold as slaves. At the moment there is a lot of books full of alien passion around. This is one of the better sci-fi romances I have read this year. It is full of action and not just in the bedroom. It kept me gripped from start to finish. We have a feisty kick ass female Aliena and a big blue alien Kamal who loves Aliena his bloodmate. Aliena grows in confidence and bravery, always caring for others wellbeing before her own. Even though Kamal is a seven foot strong warrior and pirate. Aliena protects him just as fiercely. A sexy action packed adventure with a big dash of sex. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another solid entry into the Eok Warriors series by Mary Auclair. I enjoyed the story, liked the characters and very much appreciated that the H/h are not clones from book one, despite being related. Smexy times are there but don't overwhelm.
Kamal🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 is the Eok pirate Captain of his own ship and brother of Karian, from the first book📑, Venomous Craving. In this new book📑, a dying free human woman, Aliena💋💃, was left on a mountain top for the Alien pirates🐺🔪🔫 to pick up and save with their advanced medicine.
Human women are like Dragon's teeth🐲, extremely rare, almost extinct. Aliena💃💋 is worth a huge fortune, and should be sold to a fantastically rich alien in the other side of the known galaxy , the Ring💫
But Karian🐺🍆🌋👋 made the human woman, Rose, who freed him from imprisonment on an alien ship, his bloodmate👰, thus starting a cascade of events that threaten the wealth of Trade Minister Knut👹, the most powerful man in the Ring Council, outside of Prime Councilor Aav. Knut👹 is doing everything he can to find the rest of the free humans to enslave them.
Time is running out for the free humans. The rest of the human women are imprisoned in breeding camps and used like cattle, impregnated at random by any Eok Warrior🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 who has won the right to breed with one of them.
Others are sold off for a fortune 💰 to the few that can afford them, the money lining The pockets of The Council, specifically, Knut👹. The human men are taken off planet to toil as slaves on farms.
Kamal🐺🍆🌋👋🔪🔫 is protecting Aliena💃💋. He knows she is HIS bloodmate👰, but he's trying to ignore the bond! He has to find the rest of the free humans to protect them!
I also read and reviewed the first book📑 in this series "Venomous Craving" , and loved it!
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review.
These 📚books are XXX Adult Alpha 👽Alien Romances filled with adventure and danger. The Eok Warriors🐺🍆🌋👋🔪🔫 practice a BDSM👋 lifestyle. Highly recommend! The book is well written and in my opinion, is the perfect combination of the Alpha Male Sci-fi genre. It has Lust, passion, danger, fighting💪👊, space battles💥, intrigue, spies, and love💘 with one true mate👰.
🛸 They were once mankind's destruction - now they may be our last hope for salvation
I came in on this series with Venomous but I will be going back and acquiring the first book - Venomous read well as a standalone but I realize I may have enjoyed it even more with the build-up and background information from the first book
Kamal, an Eok warrior, is on a mission for his brother to find the last surviving free human village and protect them until his forces can arrive to take over then he and his crew of "privateers" can drop off their current cargo and enjoy their spoils -Easy Peasy -Right? WRONG - what he did not expect to find was a dying sacrifice that would challenge his every command and just might cost him his own life.
Aliena is dying - as a last resort she is "sacrificed" (Not sure if the one who sacrificed her did it out of love or spite?) to the aliens in the hope they will save her. Aliena's character IMO had her heart in the right place, but she definitely has a problem with delegating authority - I get it but sometimes we need to back up and let others do their jobs. She is strong-willed and definitely a survivor and I think that is what drives her need to control every situation. I did enjoy her spunk and she is definitely able to take care of herself
This was packed with adventure, plot twist and a few kindle gripping moments that will keep you on edge. The romance between our H and h off the charts. Well crafted main and secondary characters - as for the village villain let's just say he needs an attitude adjustment - and a smooth and easy read plot line
When Karian's Older Brother, Kamal, Meets Rose's Cousin, Aliena, He Struggles To Deny His Mating Call As They Work To Secure The Human Settlement.
Although this is this second book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
Aliena, a young woman who lived in the wild on Earth for twenty-three years - outside of the genetic human labs - wakes and finds herself on a ship. Her last memories are of being deathly ill and, as a last hope, left for the aliens to find and nurse to health.
Kamal, an Eok, finds Aliena near death, wrapped in fur and left in the snow. He is instantly drawn to her despite her sickly appearance, and carries her to his ship.
More than a decade prior, Kamal was an Eokian warrior, destined to become their Commander in Chief, but he disobeyed orders and left his family and home planet in shame, turning to a life as a smuggler and pirate.
When his brother Karian, now the Commander in Chief of the Eokian warriors, needs boots on the ground on Earth ASAP, Kamal answers the call, volunteering his ship and men for the job of securing a free human settlement.
Aliena, now nursed to health, is fiercely independent. She advocates for her people and works with the Eoks, while Kamal and his men deal with the distrust of the human population while waiting for backup. Kamal recognizes Aliena as his mate all the while, but tries to convince himself that he can ignore the call.
When Kamal is called to chase a slaver on the run and look for some missing humans, Aliena follows. But her presence on the ship causes friction among the men, and Kamal is pressured to take drastic action.
Kamal and Aliena's chemistry is palpable and it is easy to root for the couple. There is much more to Kamal the smuggler than it seems. As his character unfolds, it becomes obvious that he is a deeply honorable man who lives with guilt from his past; it is Aliena, her attitude and lack of fear, that reawakens him to the notion of change and settling down.
There are a number of similarities between this book and the first in the series. Both start out with the female lead aboard an alien ship. Both couples are forced to land on a planet while trying to escape danger. Both involve the couple being bloodmates, which is a rare occurance. Rose and Aliena are quite similar; there are some differences between Karian and Kamal, however. Kamal is slightly into games in the bedroom and is more quick to allow Aliena to fight by his side. Despite these similarities, both books are worthwhile reads.
This, like the first book, is written in the third person with alternating POVs. I would have preferred first person with alternating POVs.
Finally, Martin's character felt inconsistent; it bothered me. On the one hand, he wanted so badly for Aliena to get well that he set her out in the snow where he knew she would be found. On the other hand, he is horrible to Aliena after she is recovered. He forgets apparently that he trusted the aliens to help Aliena, and that he selflessly gave her over to them.
This is a great story with an HEA. It hints at who might star in the third book of the series.
Aliena is left for dead by her human tribe and into the care of Eok pirate and warrior Kamal and his crew. Kamal and Aliena agree to seek her uncle from the clutch of corrupt and greedy minister Knut and fight to free the humans. He fights the urge to make her his mate until it cannot be avoided for her safety and gets a surprise when she turns out to be his blood mate but they're betrayed and have to fight for the humans against Minister Knut and the traitors in their crew.
I liked that while there was immersive world building it didn't feel overcomplicated but I found the plot to be repetitive and rushed.
🦢 She knew what he was, and what he was, was a nightmare. Worse than a nightmare. He was Eok. “Midnight God,” his voice cut the sentient silence of the forest, hoarse and deep. Irritated. Deadly. “How did you cover so much ground? Did you fly?” —- “Captain of the Mellark, fastest ship this side of the Ring, and smuggler extraordinaire. At your service.”
🩵 He knew then that he would not try to leave. There was nothing he could do to halt his growing devotion to the female his body had recognized as mate. He would have to deserve her.
🏴☠️ “This isn’t what I signed up for.” The furious clacking of mandibles had both Wyol and Aliena staring with surprise at the insect-like creature. “There is dishonor in harming a female.”
🚀 “You were made for me,” Kamal answered, his gaze sliding down her body like his hands; slow and possessive. “I will make you feel so much pleasure, your throat will be hoarse from screaming my name.”
🌕 I did not choose you, my Little Bird, because you were made for me, as I was made for you.”
🪹 “She will not want to leave her people and settle on Eokim. She’s too attached to them.” “If she takes after her cousin, you will have your work cut out for you.” Karian nodded, a smile on his lips. “Even heavy with youngling, Rose hasn’t settled down. She’s still running the house and goes out every day to tend the gardens.”
🗡️ When Kamal’s wicked grin turned hungry, she knew. She had everything she never even knew she wanted.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
To be honest, I was so, so excited to receive this book! I do stuggle with writing reviews as it's a bit of a phobia of mine. Being judged as not good enough, etc. And so I decided to try, to push myself. And now, here I am, wanting to give a good review, an honest review and also not hurt anyone's feelings.
It took me a long time to finish this book, when normally I would finish a book of this length within a day or two. This time, it was a month. I had to force myself to read it as I just wasn't enjoying it, at all.
One thing that bothered me was the heroine's name, Aliena - really? A HUMAN, named Aliena. Especially when this book is ALL about humans being afforded protected status, it just struck me as really, really off.
Beyond that, it just didn't have the flair and excitement the author's other books did. Even overlooking obvious "errors" like aliens using "human/earth" colloquialisms. I found that the suspension of disbelief was a bit too difficult in this world as well.
As I said before, I do hope that I haven't hurt anyone's feelings, nor made them angry...this is just my interpretation and it IS subjective. If you enjoyed this book, wonderful! If not, maybe Ms. Auclair's next books will tickle our pleasure centres more. I AM looking forward to reading more of Mary Auclair's books, will definitely buy them and perhaps the hints of why I didn't enjoy this particular book might help the author in future. I do hope so anyway...because, again, I have enjoyed ALL of her other books immensely.
Venomous Hunger is the second book in the Eok Warriors Series, but can be read as a stand alone. Aliena is one of the last free humans, but was given to the aliens to keep her alive. While trying to escape, Kamal catches her, and he’s determined to find the free humans and keep them safe. Soon, they’re working together to find her Uncle, a man who was their leader, and they’re traveling all over the galaxy, but they also have to maneuver through his outlawed crew. When danger is present all around them, can Aliena and Kamal have a happy mating and keep each other safe?
Wow, this book was intense and thrilling and had me hooked from the very beginning! I absolutely loved Aliena and Kamal’s passion - for revenge, for their freedom, for each other! Aliena was so strong, so fierce and determined, but I also loved her vulnerable moments and how far she was willing to go to save those she loves! She might not have always made the best choices, but she made them all with her heart. Kamal was that perfect brooding alpha male, with a dark history, the stubborn attitude, and I absolutely loved how he acted around Aliena. I really enjoyed that there was more danger to them than just Minister Knut, but also Kamal’s crew and the betrayal from some of them. I will admit, I did not read the first book, but now I really want to and I look forward to any future Eok Warrior books!
“Interesting first look into this author’s Eok Warrior sci-fi romance world”
I received an Advance Reader Copy for VENOMOUS HUNGER (Eok Warriors, Book #2) written by Mary Auclair and voluntarily reviewed this book. Aliena was a rare human female, a free human, but now very sick and dying. She was left on a mountain top by her own people with little hope for survival until she was found by a discraced-Eok-warrior-turned-pirate and opportunist named Kamal, who brings her to his ship and nurses her with alien medicine and technology back to health. But being near her brings up his Mating Venom, and he is at pains to avoid her until he can no longer resist her. This is a book with a strong political thread with the remaining humans left at her colony, still in near-desperate hiding, holding onto their freedom, as well as the evil doings of Minister Knut. We have Aliena who is fiercely loyal to her people, doing all she could to keep them safe while searching for the leader of their colony, her “Uncle” who was missing, not quite believing Kamal’s intentions to help her even though her own cousin Rose (from Book #1) is now mated to a fellow Eok warrior.
I really like this series. I couldn’t wait to read the second book. But time and again, I kept getting irritated by the female lead. She kept fighting to have her way about things when any smart person would take a step back and look at the bigger picture when it is beyond their capabilities. You’re supposed to be fighting for your race and relatives livelihood. Be smart about it. You cannot do everything your alien mate can do. I didn’t like how her mate had to talk her down every time she wanted to do what he did. He comes from the greatest warrior race of all. He had fangs and lethal talons, speed, strength and superior hearing and vision. (Now that I listed the skills, he sounds like a blue vampire). Also, she made some really stupid decisions in the final face-off with the enemy. She could’ve been really more Strategic about it. I’m hoping it was just one dud of a character. I really couldn’t find anything that I admired about her. Nothing that made me want to really root for her. I’m still hoping that I will enjoy the next book. Fingers crossed.
Venomous Hunger is the second book in the Eok Warriors series. It is a sci-fi alien warrior romantic suspense story. It can be read or listened to as a standalone. This story involves Kamal and Aliena. Kamal is an Eok warrior who is now working as a space pirate/smuggler with his crew. On a mission for his brother, he finds and rescues a very ill Aliena and brings her to his ship for medical treatment. As one of the last free humans left on Earth, Aliena is distressed and afraid when she awakens after her coma and finds herself on the ship. She escapes but is captured by Kamal. Their relationship and romance begins to develop when they begin to fight for her people. There is a lot of mystery, danger, suspense, intrigue, betrayal, violence, friendship and love in this story. There are also some steamy scenes between these two blood mates. Can they survive their quest to find her uncle and free the captive humans? Listen and find out. The narration by Justin Hill and Vivienne Ferrari was brilliant. They portrayed Kamal, Aliena and all other characters perfectly. I highly recommend listening.
This is the second in this series, and although it mentions events in the previous book they don't take away from this story or leave you feeling like you've missed out.
Aliena( Yep i know I had issues with the name in an alien story) is dying, and her people have put her out in the cold, she is rescued by an Eok ( band of warriors). Her Eok take her on board his ship where she is taken care of, but she also brings out in him the mating venom.
As circumstances go, they find the rest of her people but she is still determined to find her Uncle who went off to look for other human survivors, cue some misunderstandings and the next thing you know other alien badguys are trying to kill her, her mate has to do his thing etc, and we hope for a HEA.
There is al ot going on in this book, and whilst i liked Kamal, Aliena i wasn't too keen on because she just continued to make a few errors putting her life in danger constantly.
It has it moments and was a good read.
I received a copy from booksprout and am reviewing .
Kamal is a Eok warrior that has a ship and crew who do pillage and get goods too sell hes been gone from his family for 10 years his family is not very proud of him but he's asked to got to earth and rescue Marcus but they don't know exactly were their hiding. Alaina has been rescued from a snowy mountain she's very close to death but they bring her on their ship to rescue her and give her medical help. Wohl is the alien that's tasked to take care of the human being and when she is sleeping Kamel is fascinated by her and drawn to her but wohl is interested in taking advantage of her sexuality and so many aliens what human woman for sex so they are a hot commodity but aliana fights back ! Kamel is drawn to her and knows that she is his mate but is determined not to claim her. Knut is a cruel alien that steal humans and sells them. Kamal will fight to find and rescue the humans but Aliana is determined to be along at every step which leads them all into danger which sometimes is dumb
Kamal, our hero, is a fearsome pirate captain and disgraced Eok warrior. He is the elder brother of the hero from the first book in the series. He has been sent to Earth to find the hidden village of free humans and protect them before a contingent of Eok warriors arrives.
I love the Eok, by the way. They are a fierce warrior race with blue skin, fangs and 6” retractable claws. They also mate for life. Hot and loyal, what’s not to love?
Our heroine is Aliena. She is the cousin of the heroine from the first book. When we meet her she is nearly dead from illness. In a last ditch effort to save her she is left for the aliens to find. Kamal finds her and is drawn to her beauty and strong spirit. Of course some of his crew look at her and just see dollar sign, while others see an exotic sex slave.
This book is packed with action! I wasn’t bored for a moment. I loved it.
Filled with lots of betrayals all while finding love
Rose's cousin Aliena is found by Kamal. She is so very sick that it takes four days of healing before she awakes. When she does awake she finds herself on a spaceship in the medical center. When a Avonie male med tech comes in and treats her harshly all she can think about is escaping and saving the other humans in earth. When Kamal discovers that Aliena has escaped he goes after her. He has been visiting her daily for hours at a time while she is unconscious. He has feelings for her that he does not want to confront. He knows that he will do everything in his power to bring her back to his ship. There is lots of betrayals happening in this story. Not only with Minster Knut, the members of Kamal's band of pirates, but also within the human settlement. So much excitement in the first two books with two more yet to follow. Arlen and Ava"s story is next. I wonder how he will heal from the betrayal from book one.
Venomous Hunger begins right around where the first one left off. Humans are still fighting for their freedom and this time they have the powerful Kamal to help. I love this story arc, yes it's a little weird seeing humans as slaves, but the entire human species seems fit to fight their way through and make a name for themselves that has nothing to do with slaves.
I loved Kamal. He is a warrior, tough, gruff, but he also has a super sweet side. Aliena is one tough broad. This chick had to fight for her life so many times, and yet everytime she proved she is just as much a warrior as Kamal. Their relationship was so very sweet to see blooming.
I'm loving this series and definitely looking for more!
Boy I tell you that Mating Venom is very strong. I love these stories. They're so full of danger, excitement, and falling in love. Some of the things that they go through is painful to read. The writer makes every thing come to life and you can feel it all. She is an excellent story teller. This story is the 2nd in the series and it is as good as the first. This one is about Kamal and Aliena. Aliena is cousin to the girl in the first book and Kamal is the brother of the general in the first book. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I do. I received a free review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Venomous Hunger is the 2nd book in this series, so, full disclosure, I never read the 1st one. Aliena is one of the last humans on Earth, so she convinces an Eok pirate, named Kamal, to help her rescue other humans from slavery on Earth and another planet. They turn out to be fated mates.
I was trying to find a nice way to say how very strangle-worthy was Aliena. Constantly running right into danger, then looking to Kamal to save the day. I mean, heroines should be strong and brave, but this one was delusional! The rest of the book is okay, but I doubt I would read more books in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Although I did not read the first book in this series, I enjoyed this book very much. The author created a world in which humans are not the superior beings, complete with social structure, politics, and deities. I loved the incorporation of different alien species. The Eok warriors are the ultimate in alpha males but Kamal proved to have a kind and gentle side too. The mating venom created a passion that jumped off the pages. Aliena felt the passion too, which made for smoking hot erotic scenes once they stopped fighting it. The characters, both heroic and villainous, were all well developed. The plot was compelling making the book hard to put down.
I read this book thinking it was the second in another series by Ms Auclair so I had not read the first in the series and I think I probably should have.. I certainly intend to go back and read it and then I may well reread this one. It was a very entertaining sci-fi read. It takes place in the future when humans are no longer free but Aliena is but we open with her being left for dead. She wakes up on an alien ship and she has been saved by Kamal a pirate, then the adventure truly begins. I like Ms Auclairs books although there are hot raunchy scenes they are not gratuitous and the prose is beautifully written, great.
The author has done it again. Second book in the Eok Warriors series, this one slightly overlaps with the first book. Kalan the pirate agrees tho go after the humans that were abducted by minister Knut. Aliena won't let him go alone, regardless of what he may want. Will kalan be able to keep her and the other humans safe when do many would benefit from their deaths? Or will they lose the humans and each other forever? Good story, great world building and the endings are good, we get answers as well as more questions, i am assuming more books are to come..
A really good read. I did not see this one coming. I call it a white knuckle romance. There is so much on the edge of your seat action that’s it is practically white knuckle reading all the way through. And in addition to all that action, there’s still time for some romance. If you like pages and pages of every description of the act of mating, then this is not the book for you; however, if you like a good blend of romance, sex, and a great story with well developed characters, then this is right for you.
Aliena was sick when Kamal found her on earth. She was able to get better but wouldn't tell him where the other humans were hiding. He was sent there to protect them. When she talks to Rose, her cousin who is mated to Kamals' brother, then she understands. The humans were hiding from those who captured them and were breeding them to sell to other aliens. Kamal figures out who is breeding and selling the humans for profit, and takes his ship after him. He mates with Aliena and helps her free her family and the other humans. Another excellent read !!!!
A very quick yet highly entertaining romantic adventure filled with danger, excitement, emotional thrills and chills as well as an undeniable passion.
Kamal is a sexy, strong and deadly Eok warrior turned outlaw on a mission to find the escaped humans. Aliena wakes up under the care of alien pirates and is lucky enough to escape only to be in the fight of her life to save her family. Paige turner from beginning to end.
Second book in the alien romance series. He is an Eok and also a pirate. But now he is trying to help save the human race. But first he needs to gain their trust and especially of one specific human female. She has survived by hiding from the aliens but now they are the only thing that will save her life and maybe humanity. Lots of adventure and a hot romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
