"Stick to the rules and you won’t have a problem working for this arrogant, sanctimonious cad."

The Rules of DNR: How to Survive Working for Cole Lawson
Do Not Emails are meant to be sent to yourself only—never to be re-read or responded to.
Vent about your mean boss and don’t focus on the scruff on his chin. Ignore the butterflies that flutter as he stares back at you and concentrate on his condescending tone.

I wish I’d listened.
I wish I’d never drank my body weight in vodka and sent him a venting email, telling him exactly what I really thought about his Lycra-wrapped package and the way he makes my body hum.
The last thing I needed was to break those DNR rules and send an email to my boss.
Work is about to get a lot more interesting. What have I got myself into?

Where do these "Hot Bosses" hide?

4.5 Stars

I like reading about office romance’s because I pretty much put them in the “Fairy Tale” category. This is because I have never, ever, ever, ever, ever… had a boss I could fall in love with. Even thinking that puts a distinct shiver up my spine. If they’re not married, they’re significantly older than me. A lot of my bosses have been female and I do not bend that way. So, for me, falling for a boss, who’s hot, has plenty of money, dresses well and is bossy in a sexy way is definitely out of my realm of possibilities.

This was my first story by M.R. Field and I was pleasantly surprised how much I was sucked in. Her characters were humorous, the storyline kept my attention from start to finish and my emotions were played with…in a good way. Sure, there were times that I was cranky and upset but they were equally balanced out with wit and steam. I have no problems getting past my cranky if you can bring on a good grovel, or your wooing hits the spot. Lucky for Cole, his grovel and woo were top class and even I was shaking my head at Letty when she took too long to forgive him.

I get a wee bit excited when I come across an Aussie author who manages to show us in a good light without us sounding like Steve Irwin. Not one *Crikey…*, plenty of *Mate…* and only one marsupial was mentioned and he was not the furry kind (wink, wink). This could have a lot to do with the setting, as Melbourne is a very exciting, modern and fun place to be in. It has a hint of “True Blue” mixed with style, character…and COFFEE!! I’m from Brisbane (a couple of hours flight away) and even I admit to Melbourne being better when it comes to dining and shopping.

Story-wise, I think this was one of the best books I’ve read this year. I’m a sucker for a hero that’s been in love with the heroine for years. Both Cole and Letty have known each other since they were kids. Cole loved her and she loved him, but with the four year age gap, it was never going to happen when they were young. Then, their world fell apart…

Years later and things have CHANGED!!!!!

I loved the concept of Letty’s DNR (Do Not Respond) emails. I wish I was the kind of person who could bite my tongue and keep my feeling to myself. I’m not sure I could write them down after and feel better for it. Maybe, you could call me a hothead, I think I’m more of an open and honest, not one to beat around the bush, kind of person.

Do Not Respond was a great read. I was invested in their romance from the very beginning. Getting to know Cole and Letty better, finding out their history together and apart, and seeing them work through their problems was a great adventure. The additional characters were fun to get to know, and I hold a special place in my heart for Cole’s mum and Letty’s parents. They gave a great mix of quirky, embarrassing and loving, that I thoroughly enjoyed seeing. There was plenty of steam that had my heart pumping and I was squirming as I read. Again, I felt like I was reading a fairytale as the copy machine was witness to a wee bit of shenanigans.

If you’re looking for a new author to check out, wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of sexy office shenanigans, and like to touch down in Aussie land, I highly recommend Do Not Respond. I will definitely be back for more from this author.

This is actually very very entertaining read. Office romance combine with second chance romance. The humor in the banter is very funny.

I like Letti. She is fiesty and have some back bone. Cole is that typical alpha male with sensitive heart. I love their combination.

The author done a great job builidng the romance through playful banter. Even the story is long, I still enjoy it very much.

This was my first time reading a book by this author. I look forward to reading more from her.

This was a fun book where the guy has always loved the girl but circumstances and his own issues got in the way. Their families are friends and she even ends up working for him, so as he keeps her at arms length and hides his feelings (by being mean), she hates him. He had a lot of groveling to do.

It was a fun read. I had hoped he would have been a better communicator and confused as to why she didn’t push more in the beginning of their relationship to get an explanation as to why he was so mean. I also wish we saw the reaction from their coworkers when they learned that they were together. I also wonder if any of them knew that the two were childhood friends...

I hope this becomes a series. There’s obviously interesting stories to Parker and Anja and Odette and Micah.

I got to read Do Not Respond by M.R. Field a bit early and boy I Loved it!! You will definitely want to grab this one! With a gruff and grumpy boss and a heroine who is a bit snarky, this story made me smile like crazy.

Letty and Cole were childhood best friends... but now Letty is working as Cole’s assistant and whatever has happened in between has strained their relationship to the MAX!
Cole has taken keeping his distance to a new level and finds a way to make Letty’s everyday a bit of a nightmare.

“...he always has an email waiting for me. It’s like opening a glitter bomb minus the glitter and the fun.”

Letty is so funny, snarky and sarcastic! I couldn’t help but fall in love with her! Without even trying I think she charms everyone she comes into contact with and she doesn’t even realize it. She gives Cole as good as she gets and really keeps him on his toes. To let off some of her frustrations when dealing with Cole at work, Letty composes emails telling him just what she is thinking. She addresses and sends the emails to herself as a bit of stress relief.

“Your “good morning” was weird too. What’s with being nice? Maybe spending time with me in an elevator robbed your brain of oxygen and you got amnesia. Hmm.
What’s your game, dude? I’m not used to these emails not containing insults. I kinda miss calling you a f**k-knuckle noob.
Also, you’re screwing with my sleep. Stop appearing wearing nothing but your cycling bib. It’s distracting from like, you know, sleeping.”

Do Not Respond is a second chance story with a touch of enemies to lovers feel. My love for Letty was immediate, but Cole took a little longer for me to warm up to. He needs maybe “a swift kick to the mini Marsupial.” at times, but won me over eventually! ;-)

“Letty, I loved you when I was too young to understand what love was. You were always in my view. You’re all I see. I’d jump this cliff a thousand times over if it meant I was doing it by your side.”

I adore this author’s writing and style of storytelling that just pulls me into the world of these very real feeling characters. Every single character from our hero and heroine to the most minor are so well developed that I just want more from each of them and I really hope to get some spin off stories.

My one-click addiction is a problem. How so? Well, I one-clicked this book because the blurb sounded right up my alley. But what a let down. Way too long. On and on and on it went. I thought it would be one of those hot office romances. Was more of a second chance romance, where the characters had a whole lot of history and somehow found themselves in this love/hate working relationship.

Female MC works for her childhood best friend, who treats her like crap. Male MC is a hardarse boss who can't curb his inclination to rile up the female MC. Blah, blah, blah, so forth and so on. Female MC has a coping mechanism where she sends DNRs to herself. And oops. She sends one to him. And then hate turns into a whole lot of love.

I just wasn't feeling it. Felt repetitive and longwinded. Nothing memorable. Was just meh.

Being inside Cole's mind is like Christmas for me, you never know what you're going to get out of him, “you’re asking me out on a date?” Her eyes brighten as her thumb rubs my fingers. Eff she’s cute." Letty often times gets distracted, "I continue to watch him towel himself dry. He doesn’t leave anything to the imagination. My dreams are going to be amazing now. “If you keep looking at my Mini Marsupial, I’ll sort you out right now.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Cole and all the sassiness that was Letty.

5 stars isn't even enough to describe how awesome this book was.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it and I knew that I had to read this book the second I read the synopsis but that definitely did not prepare me completely for what this book was all about.

My favorite part was that the book is written from both Letty and Cole's points of view so I get to see the story from both of their perspectives. The emotions that I experienced while reading had me feeling all the feels. I was heartbroken, angry, happy and laughing so many times. There is also some serious chemistry between the characters and some VERY hot and steamy moments.

I am really hoping that there is another book in the future that follows Letty's sister because I MUST KNOW her story!

An absolute must read book for sure. - By Alisa

A hot office read that contains a sexy boss that is a jerk to his employee is definitely my type of read. M.R. Field definitely delivered with this story with the smoking hot chemistry between the characters, romantic comedy and a storyline that made it difficult to put my kindle down. M.R. Field has the ability to write a story that creates a movie within your head of what you are reading creating an even more enjoyable experience reading their work.

Letty is a feisty female character that had me laughing so much at her humour and the things that she write about in her DNR (Do Not Respond) emails about her boss. I loved the way that she did not let anyone put it over her and she stuck up for the people she cared for. She was a great heroine for the story and definitely one of my favourites.

One of the things that I love in an office romance is a hot boss and that would be Cole. Cole was the sexy boss that Letty grew up with who experienced a great lost his life that has caused him great pain throughout his life. I love the relationship that Cole had with his mum and Letty’s parents.

Do not Respond is an Office romance about Letty who works for a boss that is arrogant and rude to her which causes her to write emails to herself that she calls Do Not Respond as a way to vent about her boss. But one night she accidently press send to the person she was writing about and the story is the fallout that happens.

Do Not Respond sucked me in from the first page I read until the very last page of the book. There was so much about the story that I absolutely loved reading and I love the authors writing style. The story flowed all the way through making it that much more enjoyable to read. This is definitely a story that I recommend to everyone to read.

Office romances… I love them, two adults sneaking around the office, trying to hide what they’re doing. Maybe the fact I met my hubby at the office also plays a role (sorry for the personal information). Do Not Respond is the story of Letty and Cole, who don’t get along very well despite their long history. Mixing that with day-to-day business makes it even worse. I just love this story.
“To think we ran naked through the waves together when we were kids. I shudder to think of the times I wrote his name in the sand when I thought he wasn’t looking. Ugh.”

Letty is working for a boss she doesn’t like very much, and that’s the understatement of the century. What makes it worse, is that she has known Cole forever, since their parents are close friends. For a long time, they’ve been friends, until the friendship changed abruptly. Letty hates her boss Cole, but she still remembers the boy he used to be.

Cole knows very well he isn’t the nicest guy when it comes to Letty, but his job and the family business need his full attention. He doesn’t have time for women, especially not for a special woman like Letty. But Cole and Letty are an ‘accident’ waiting to happen, all they need is a wee bit of help in the form of a not-meant-to-be-sent email…
“She is my beautiful distraction. An amazing and talented woman, who drives me to insanity and leaves me hanging on for more.”

Letty and Cole, what do I say… Both act like they can’t stand the other, but it’s so clear there’s much more between them. Not just because they know each other since childhood, but the feelings! They might tell themselves and others differently, but a romantic relationship is a possibility. It won’t be easy though; Letty and Cole are both stubborn and want to do things their own way. And talking about feelings, why should you? There were moments I wanted to smack the lovely couple, but I get where they are coming from.

Do Not Respond is already the fourth book by M.R. Field, and I just love it. For me personally it has the right mix of funny moments and drama, and a whole set of awesome characters. Cole and Letty are a great couple who both deserve to be somebody’s special person. Some of the side characters intrigued me as well, I need to know more about them. Dear Mrs. Field, could you please write a story about Odette and Micah? Pretty please?
“I love this man as much he loves me. Every part of my soul wants a lifetime with him. As our lips touch, I know without a hesitation our future together will be wonderful.”

I’m a sucker for an office romance/CEO book, but I’ve always said that Second Chance Romance is my favourite, so imagine my delight when I discovered this little beauty contained both... And it didn’t disappoint!

A story of love to hate to love, infused with humour and some steamy moments all wrapped up in a way of writing that is uniquely MR Field. I was wrapped up in this story from the start.

Friends since childhood and separated by events out of their control and misunderstandings, Letty and Cole rediscover their hidden feelings and things begin to sizzle... because you know what they say, it’s a fine line between love and hate! Vodka and technology don’t mix, but it may just be the push that these 2 need to get them on their journey back to each other!

I couldn’t help but fall in love with not just these main characters, but also with the whole ‘cast’ of family and friends that make appearances. I look forward to seeing if there are any future instalments for a couple of them and many more books by this author ;)

This book was so much more than I expected.
I got the fun sarcastic humor that I was hoping for but also such a fantastic second chance love story with a lot of heart and heartbreak at times.
Letty was so witty and fun, especially when complaining about Cole in her DNR emails. LOL
And Cole, once you get to know him, is so sweet and hot hot hot too!

Office romance can be fun...but, I have to believe the attraction between them is enough that the subordinate would be willing to risk her (or occasionally his) job to sleep with the boss. I need to think the office is one where they wouldn't get caught, and if they did, there would be enough between them to get over the part where they were caught.

In this case, I believed the attraction between Cole and Letty. They knew each other when they were younger, and now, well, the attraction has turned into dislike and a difficult working relationship. Getting from that, from ex friends, to an office romance, to a couple who can work for the long haul was a little bit of a challenge, but they work it out, and the ride as the reader is a lot of fun.

This is my first read by M. R. Field, and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked that she is an Australian author and this book had an Australian flair without feeling like I was reading something starring "Crocodile Dundee" which often happens. I loved this element of it, and the different feel it gave this title.

Overall, I enjoyed it, I recommend it, and I am looking forward to the next title by this author.

When they were younger Letty and Cole were bests friends however Letty’s feelings ran much deeper. They would never know what could have been as tragedy changed them and their relationship beyond repair. Now Letty finds herself working as his assistant and the only way she knows to deal with his gruff, rude personality is by sending emails to herself so that she can vent. The only rule is that no one else can see them.

Cole is willing to keep Letty in his life anyway he can. He believes that she deserves better than him but in the interim just seeing her every day is enough. He doesn’t know how to treat her any differently than he already does but that is about to change!

This is a story everyone can relate to as who hasn’t wanted to vent about their boss at one time or another. This is the first book that I have read by this author, but I really enjoyed it. She has managed to combine intense heat, humorous banter and heartwarming emotion into one package that has you rooting for the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I am a new MR Field reader. This was quite entertaining. We meet Letty and Cole who are old childhood friends turned enemies turned boss and assistant at work. From the blurb it sounds like a romantic comedy but its definitely more than that. Sometimes, I love a good A-hole hero, there is always why he is mistreating the heroine the way he does. Letty is so funny fulfilling his requests. The mutterings, the emails to herself are so stinkin funnnnayyy.....There are secrets, lust, the DNR emails are hilarious, they share a wonderful past but something broke in their friendship. Cole and his broody moody ways chipped away and you can't help but want to root for this guy. I liked this book a lot. I enjoyed reading about how devoted they were to each other as friends in their teenage years. I look forward to reading more from this author. Can we get Odette's story?????!!!!!!

Can't decide what to read next? Thinking maybe a RomCom, maybe a Second Chance Romance, Enemies to Lovers or a steamy Office Romance??
Well look no further than this sweet, sexy, laugh-out-loud witty, up-against-the-photocopier love fest that even throws in a "Third" chance at love by MR Fields.
Do Not Respond is the Whole Package!!

I loved this story of aspiring artist Letty, who is stuck working for an arsehole boss who just also happens to be her childhood crush, whose soul purpose it seems is to make her life a living hell.
But Letty is no shrinking violet and uses emails to herself to vent with colourful vernacular you definitely would not be repeating to your grandmother!!

It's obvious there's more to this story than meets the eye, and said boss Cole is harbouring his own repressed feelings and when they get to ignition point these two collide in spectacular fashion; all over the office!

Ms Field did a great job with Cole's character, a man of such stubborn nature and dogged determination in all his pursuits, it comes as no surprise that he's held on to his grief, guilt and misplaced feelings for so long. But it's also obvious the tender, loyal and protective man he is and that he has always been, and it's just going to take a Herculean effort and the threat of losing Letty for good to see him rise to the knight in shining armour we know is underneath the "Bag of Dicks"!

The hilarious Aussie-isms, that won't be lost on the international audience, make this story flow beautifully and with a wonderful supporting cast that I look forward to seeing more of soon, this is an absolute 5 star read for me!

An office romance with a lot of back history between Cole and Letty who grew up together and was it for the other one despite an age gap, old truths and heart-wrenching decisions. Cole's father has a sudden heart attack that claims his life the day that Cole is cliff diving with Letty and collecting shells after this he resents her and for years to come breaks off any kind of contact with her despite the fact that he can't stop thinking about her. 12 years pass and Cole knows he has to make things right, so he hires Letty to be his assistant at his architectural firm per her fathers request to make sure she can make a living and will hopefully give up on her dreams of becoming the artist she longs to be. As time goes on he is an absolute dick head of a boss to her so much so that she sends herself DNR emails which contain her ventings about Cole never to be seen by the Boss Man himself except after one drunken night when she needs to vent and it ends up in Cole's inbox.

I liked this book I just thought it was a little too drawn out at times so much so that I was skipping through chapters. I liked how the ending a lot but for most of the book it just bored me. Letty drove me nuts alot. She tended to over analyze everything and was quite a drama queen at times. I liked Cole a lot. The book was hilarious at times, sexy and serious as well. And I liked that Theo, Trinity and Nige were in this book from the Running On Empty Series. Im hoping that a book is coming for Parker / Anja as well as Odette / Micah.

Do Not Respond will fill you with so much sweetness! Letty works for an arsehole. He may have been her best friend and crush long ago, but now he's a jerk. Cole has fought his way through grief, shame, and guilt. He's finally realizing what he has in front of him. Letty slowly let's Cole back in, and they are adorable.

Letty is great! She's strong, opinionated, and smart. She writes emails to herself about how much Cole pisses her off, never to see the light of day. It helps her remain professional around him at work and not strangle him. I do hate and feel for her when her dad puts down her passion, art. He believes she will get no where with it and that makes her want to prove him wrong. Cole is hard to love at first, he is a big jerk who seems to have it in for Letty. Slowly you start to see the real him and realize he's stupid but lovable.

I enjoyed the playful banter between the characters, they had me laughing. I loved Letty and Cole, as well as their friends and family. I just feel like something was missing, I can't quite put my finger on what it was. I feel like I was bogged down a lot throughout the story and the pacing was kind of off. Some places were slow and I felt myself skipping pages. Other places were fast and I felt like it was too much on one page. The romance and banter were great, I just wished it had a little more.

Omg were has this amazing author been hiding. Seriously this book was everything O love about romance! I laughed, swooned, cried, yelled, and swooned again! And the sexy times omg! Letty has the worst boss he micro manages her puts her down and is just constantly a jerk Don t even get me started on the pen! But Cole and Letty have a past they were best friends when they were kids. She adored and secretly loved him and he felt the same but him being 18 and her 14 made it impossible for him to do anything he knew he couldn't cross that line but being in her presence was enough for him. Until his dad pasted away then the fun sweet Cole disappeared and the jerk appeared. After that he was constantly mean to her and she never knew why. But still she needed the job as her art wasn't supporting her. 2 years later the only thing saving her is her DNR emails. She writes how she feels when he being a jerk to an email to herself with the do not respond title. But what happens when Cole starts being nice again and she accidentally send him an email. Can they really finally be together or will Cole mess it all up again!

When reading the blurb, this story reads like a rom com to me, and it is funny, not doubt! But this story is so much more.

Letty works as an assistent to her childhood friend. This is as far from her dream as she can get. Her boss is an arse. Demanding and condescending, a regular arse.
Cole knows he is mean and demanding beyond any kind of reason. He doesn't particular like being that way, but it's the only way to keep his childhood love close and experience her fire. According to him, he is far from good enough for her, yet he can't let her go.

Will they find their way back???

I was not even through the prologue before I was hooked. Flipping page after page to get my fix.
Letty and Cole? Oh my. The chemistry, banter and emails. Is it me or is it getting hot in here? One minute I was ready to jump a plain to Australia to slap Cole upside the head, the next I was holding my breath rooting for him.
And don't even get me started on the supporting characters. They where everything you could want in a group and I want to go hang out with them.

All in all another fabulous piece of writing from M. R. Field. All I now want to know is, when do we get Odette's story.
Impatient you say? You would be too!!!

M.R.Field is a new to me author. Having never read anything before I didn't know what to expect. I loved this book.

This story had all the feels, it was incredibly funny and unique.

Do Not Respond is the second chance love story of Letty and Cole who as children and teenagers were best friends and could have been more had an event not happened that changed everything.

Letty works for Cole and he is a jerk. In order to keep her sanity and not lash out at her boss she send emails to herself and the subject is always DNR.

Sometimes an email falls into the wrong hands but for the right reasons.

One of my most favorite parts of the whole book is the tee shirt that appropriately says "Vodka made me do it".

There are twists and turns, sadness and happiness but through it all there is humor--lots and lots of humor. This book is a good reminder that the brains of a teenager have irrational thoughts. We as adults are quick to judge the actions of teenagers and we cringe when we think about what we did back then, but our adult brains know better--the teenage brain didn't.

When this book comes out buy it--I will be. It is hilarious. Letty's friend Piper is the bomb (I hope she has her own book one day--or if she does already I need to read it).

Friends to enemies to lovers. Cole is an idiot. He has been in love with Letty for a long time but didn't know how to deal with his feelings. He pushed her away and, when she comes to work for him, he treats her really badly. To cope with his bullish behaviour, she writes emails to herself cataloging his bad treatment of her.

Letty is one strong girl. How she put up with him is a mystery and many would have crumbled. But I loved how she was able to give it back to him at times. The sexual tension between them is simmering away below the surface and it will be explosive when it bubbles over.

I loved this book and how M.R. Field took her time in telling this story, allowing me to savour every single word. It was funny, poignant, serious, light all at the same time.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Here is a romance with plenty of laughs, smoking hot chemistry and a plot that just makes you go wild! The moment I read this synopsis I knew I wanted to read this book. It perked me up and had me instantly curious and when the moment came and this book hit my kindle, I was all over it like white on rice. It was amusing and crazy sexy and had the most amazing characters.

Do Not Respond was entertaining as could be. It was thoroughly fun and hysterical and steamy. I couldn't get enough of this book! I give this book a HOT AND AMUSING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

MR Field is a new to me author and I'm so happy that I gave this book a try. Cole and Letty's story is really fantastic. I loved the hot sexual tension between the characters and the author has beautifully scripted it, so much that you can actually visualise them and feel the chemistry. This story had alot of funny scenes, with some inner monologues which made me laugh so much. Letty is quite sassy and Cole is swoonworthy!

I truly enjoyed this one. Friends to lovers / enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and this author has gone all brilliant job on this one. I would highly recommend this book if you love this trope, in fact just read it, it's totally worth it.

Sometimes when you get a chance to read a book from a new auther o you. You get a good surprice.
I did this time.
This book about Letty and Cole, tells about twoold friends who from they was kids, just knew they were ment for more. But life gets in the way, and sorrow can change a person, so much that they dont know how to get up from the quiksand they are drowning in. Cole lost his father in a time in his life where he wasnt strong enough to handle it, and instead of mourning the loss, he grew bitter and angry.
So when letty has to start working for him in his arcitect firm, it takes everything she knows to keep her controle of her temper to stay professionel with him. That is why she starts writing emails to herself, to stay sane.
I love the sexual tension in this book. The way that years of want and longing finally sxplode, and they cant stay apart anymore. But is the old love and friendship strong enough to last through the pain? or has it been to little to late.

Do not respond is a second chance romance.
Letty and Cole were bestfriends when they were young teens.
When an incident occurs it causes Cole to push Letty away.
Years later Letty works for Cole as his assistant, she works hard and is great at her job, and he's nothing but a prick to her.
I had a few laughs in this book, the secondary characters were great, I'm dying to see Odette and Micha get a book.

Abandono, cuando empiezo a saltar paginas lo mejor que puedo hacer es dejarlo. No era el momento o no era para mi.
