This Novella is the first of seven in the Billionaire Royal Series.
Home for the summer, Jo Finley struggles to save her family's marina, comfort her ailing father, and find a way to break up with a controlling boyfriend. She quickly becomes distracted by a newcomer to their small town. Immediate attraction has her reeling and second-guessing her choices. Nick Waters, otherwise known as Nico Valdez, Crown Prince of Torren, an island country off of Greece, is hiding out in Shady Lake South Carolina for the summer. His one task: no entanglements with other women. Lay low until the press in his country move on to other scandals. But when he meets Jo, he soon realizes she is an entanglement in the making. He gives up trying to resist her and determines to enjoy an enticing summer fling with a beautiful woman who keeps him grounded in ways no one else can.
When Nico gets called home for a family emergency, and Jo must stay to take care of her father and business, they realize how desolate their lives could be alone.
Look for the following titles to be released soon: The Crown, The Duke, The Duke's Brother, The Spy
Sophia Summers is an award winning author who just wants to relax a little and enjoy a great beach read. She lives in a quiet southern town brimming with an extra dose of hospitality and a whole lot of charm.
She writes historical romance under a different name. The Billionaire Royals is her first contemporary romance series.
This was the first book by Sophia Summers that I have read, but it definitely won't be the last! I enjoyed the characters and the story. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be published.
Picked this up, wanting to read something light and entertaining this summer. The Heir did not disappoint. A clean romance with interesting, relatable characters. I will read the rest of the series.
If you like clean romances you'll enjoy this story. Jo and Nico are great characters who are really well suited for each other. This is the first book in the Billionaire Royal Series. They are both recovering from bad love choices and meet when he is hiding out in her small South Carolina town. She has no clue he's a Crown Prince. A Sweet romance with some family issues and it's nice to see how they deal with them. I read an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review.
I received this ARC and loved it! Jo comes home to tend to her father and save their Marina, not realizing her future was about to change. She is a strong, loving, caring, young woman who doesn't realize what she is missing until a stranger shows up in her hometown. Jo is such a hardworking woman that the fun loving side of her is almost lost. Nick disappears from his hometown to escape bad publicity of his reckless past and lay low for a while. However Nick was not expecting the best thing in his life was the one thing he had to stay away from. His secret could ruin the best thing he ever found and longs to have. I loved the instant connection Nick and Jo have, they are adorable together. Their friendship is cute and fun, but with a hint of more. Deciding to stay as friend but secretly yearning for more. However I did feel as though at times there were gaps and time was rushed, and miss communication. I do love the story and their sweet romance, I just wish there was more detail in some areas to fill the gaps. This is a cute, fun, sad at times and sweet story about two strangers who fall head over heals for each other, but are from completely different countries. Sophia brings certain health issues to the for front with dignity in this story. I really enjoyed Nico and Jo's friends in this story and would love to read more on them all. This is a really cute short story.
Beautifully written one of the cutest and most enjoyable reads.
I am in love with how each of the characters ( Jo or nick ) showed great care for their families and loved ones.
Another great aspect was how the book had no explicit use of language or sexual scenes yet still portrayed each emotion as it should be.
I love how they were straight forward with one another and how they “ grounded “ one another to a point that made me not feel annoyed at the conflicts portrayed in the climax.
The straight forward strategy followed in this book made it a very easy read.
I also must point out the love of the slightly sophisticated choice of words in some parts where it elevated the writing style of the book to a whole other level and it portrayed the royalty aspect of the story line.
First book by Sophia Summers definitely won’t be my last..... cannot wait to finish the series.
A romance with some stark reality and some girl's beautiful dreams come true
This was a sweet romance with a lot of, sadly, true to life situations that many people face today. The author did a good job bringing some illnesses to the forefront and treating them with an honor and dignity. That says a lot about her in my personal opinion. I enjoyed the characters immensely, especially as they were being introduced in the beginning chapters. Prince Nico came from what is considered a very large family in this day. Having 5 boys, I got a chuckle thinking about dealing with six boys at their relatively close ages, {which I assumed after reading the book and calculating}. A very sweet and clean romance that I would recommend - especially if you love awesome fairy tales! I am anxious to continue reading the next book. Vicki from Wyoming
This is a clean, fun, quick read. I enjoyed the chemistry between Jo and Nick. It was also fun to see a relationship form between Jo’s best friend, Sierra and Julian, who is a friend and some what if a servant to Nick. I like that this story has a completed feel to it despite the fact that Jo’s and Nick’s story continues in book two. So if you don’t get enough of the characters you can get the rest of the series to continue the story. Love between Jo and Nick doesn’t make sense. Especially since Jo already has a serious boyfriend. Plus, Jo is an everyday girl and Nick, well, Nick is a prince. Or should we call him Nico. But love doesn’t have to make sense. Love can form between the most unlikely of people. That is what we like to read in romance, am I right. So give Nico and Jo a chance at a HEA!
Nick is next in line to rule his small Greek country but needs a break after unflattering pictures surface with a woman who turned out to be basically a con-woman. He just wants to lie low at a small marina in South Carolina till all his mess blows over. Jo had come home to care for her dad with dementia. Nick, or Nico as he is known in his country, meets Jo and romance ensues. The was a fairly quick read but I was pulled into the story. A few misunderstandings and a side romance added some spice. I'm looking forward to the next in Billionaire Royals series.
This story was ok for a quick read. Nico trying to escape the negative publicity due to his bad choices and from being blackmailed by a woman he should've not been with. Spending his summer in a small town known for sailing and relaxing. Jo came home for the summer to revive her father's marina business and spend time with her father who's dimension was getting worst. They became friends and realized they had a lot in common and a good support for each other. Nico was trying to prepare himself to become King because his father was ready to step down but he knew it would be difficult without Jo being by his side because she could keep him balanced.
A sweep off your feet romance. Jo is home for the summer from University to run her family's business and spend the last moments with her Dad before Alzheimer's takes over. Also to take a break from her controlling boyfriend. Nick is there to escape scsndle and turn a protit st the candy store. Unkown to most he is Prince Nico. They are attracted to each other but agree to be friends. Jo breaks off with her boyfriend when he says hurtful things about her Dad. But Nick has to go back home. Will they reunite?
This is a short romance that is more of a set up for the next book than a complete satisfying read on it's own. It's cute and the leads go together, but there are a lot of loose ends and I can see those loose ends meaning the next book is going to be a painful one of the MCs that came together rather nicely here being dragged apart so they can be reunited and have a second chance romance. So it's not complete alone, but too complete to lead me to the next book.
Sweet story that did not let me put the book down. So glad I read this light hearted romance. From the start, it was clear that Nick and Jo were attracted to each other.
Nick needs to.leave his country for awhile and has bought a candy store in a little town. But no one knows he the crown Prince of his country. Jo is home to see to the family marina and to help her dad and his dementia. But something seems to click between them.
What a fun read! I have read several other books in this series, but just now had the opportunity to read the book that started the series. A quick charming summer read about two people from different countries, one being royalty, needing a friend in trying times. Friendship soon turns into more!
Very enjoyable first book in this series. Jo and Nico immediately connected and it was obvious they belonged together. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
