His Frozen Heart

Rate this book
CADE I came to Dogwood Mountain a broken man, to get away from everything in my life, my obscene wealth, my family, my so-called friends, my sins. I needed the remoteness, the fresh air, and the bitterness of surviving in an inhospitable land. After two years my isolation was shattered. Why of all the mountains in the good ole US of A, did she have to crash her car on mine. And why of all the women in the world did she have to be the most beautiful creature I'd laid eyes on. Now I'm stuck in a small cabin with the scent of her skin in my nostrils, her clear eyes following me around, and her soft curves tempting me. When she laughs, the sound reminds me of the past I left behind. Until she came my heart was a block of ice, but now there is a fire in my veins, and a craving in my loins. There's no denying. I want to taste her and make her mine. But that's the last thing I need. I tell myself, I'll get rid of the temptation in the morning, take her into town and bid her goodbye, but that was before the radio forecasts a blizzard. Looks like we could be holed up here for days. Heaven help me, but if I claim her now...letting her go won't be an option. A full length standalone with no cheating and guaranteed HEA.

This was just an ok read for me. I was a bit disappointed because I love the stories about a man living off grid who saves a lady in trouble! Unfortunately this one just didn’t grab me like most do. I feel like this story is one I’ll forget in a month.

His Frozen Heart pulled me into an idyllic winter paradise and made me want to cuddle up with a warm blanket and a hot chocolate in my bed.

This is the most romantic novel by Georgia Le Carre I have read so far. Don’t you worry, the steamy scenes are there too, but for the first time, they are not the main focus of the book.

Cade lives alone on the mountain side. He is there to escape both his reality and his troubled past. When a woman crashes her car and a blizzard is coming up, she needs to spend a few days in his cottage.

Sometimes, you only need a few days with a person to know whether they are right for you. What begins as a lust turns into a deep relationship, full of love and caring.

But with an unexpected twist, I started doubting everything I had read and all the characters involved. With an even more unexpected ending, I felt so disappointed…

When you find out a dark secret that makes you double-check your feelings, you need to talk to the other person. You need to get face to face and bloody talk. No matter your decision, whether you’re going to stay or go. No matter if you have already made your mind, you need to say something. If nothing is said, how can it be a happy ending?

Despite the ending though, and my emotional reaction, this is so far the most thrilling book I read by this author. Unpredictable and satisfying, she did manage to keep me on my toes, and actually managed to get me to care about the characters.

Millionaire mountain man rescues girl and they fall in love? Sign me up for that! Add in that he's all gruff and grumpy and broken, plus she has some secrets, and you get this book. Oh and so much sexual chemistry right away. It's one of those stories where they both kind of save each other. It was a great read- of course I am a serious sucker for mountain man books. This was a good one, had all the things! A great setting, a twist, some heat, that push and pull you gotta love, and a happy ever after.

Frankly, I did not see the twist coming--although I kept thinking something was a bit "off". For instance, the important job that Katrina was about to start when she drove into the mountains, and took a turn when she crashed and then saved by Cade. This "job" was mentioned now and then, and so was the reason behind taking it. So interestingly the suspense/mystery is with Katrina for the most part. She brought light and joy to the hermit that was Cade, albeit a little too enthusiastically (of course, there was a purpose). She literally melted his dead-cold heart.

One thing I have realized after finishing this book: this author delivers heroines that I can always empathize with, something not very common because I can be very critical towards my fellow women. (My years of romance reading have trained me to tolerate really, really bad behaviours on the hero's part as long as he does proper grovelling.) And I found that le Carre's heroines are actually more likeable than even their matches (heroes).

4.25☆ (I think I might boost it up in the second reading. We shall see.)

His Frozen Heart is my first book that i have read by Georgia Le Carre, I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this author.
Cade has secluded himself in the mountains after going through a horrific tradegy in his life. One night he hears a noise that brings back bad memories and knows what he will see when he goes out to investigate.
Once the beautiful Katrina wakes up covered under a pile of blankets on the floor of a cabin in the mountains Cade finds that his frozen heart starts melting. He needs to get rid of the woman as soon as possible because there is no space in his life or heart for feelings.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

His Frozen Heart

Katrina stopped driving to get a snack before going on through the mountain. A man from her past pesters her so she left, he followed. It was snowing and getting worse. She sped up to lose him before turning off. It was snowing harder, her tyre chain broke, she went off the road and hit some trees, all went black. Cade was in his cabin, he heard a loud banging, knew what it was and went running. She is out cold, he takes her to his cabin and warms her by the fire. He'll take her to town the next day, then the storm hits................. An excellent story by an excellent author, enjoy......

Cade suffers a tragedy that he may never get over and decides to move to the mountain to get away. Katrina is on the road and trying to get away from a creepy guy when she takes a turn too sharp and ends up between two pine trees. Cade hears the crash, saves her and bring her to his cabin. The problem, he is immediately attracted to her and he doesn't like it nor did he ever think he would feel anything towards a woman again. He is cold hearted from his past, can Katrina help thaw his heart? Can two people help each other heal? You'll have to read the book to find out. Enjoy

Georgia Le Carre has done it again...delivered a masterfully written story, with amazing characters that just jump off the pages and wrap you in all the angst, bitterness, and finally love within those pages. I needed tissues to get through this one...Please don’t miss out on this one—it will stay with you long after you reach the ending. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it.) ❤️❤️

Crashing🚗 Into His Life💔

Katrina💃💋 crashes, when her car🚗 skids off the road on a snowy mountain pass, knocking her unconscious. In a little cabin nearby, Cade🐺🍆🌋💪, a broken hearted businessman living as a hermit, hears the noise and rescues her.

Katrina💃💋 is beautiful and tries to be friendly, but Cade's a man that lost his family in a wreck, so he tries to be ruff, gruff, rude and grumpy, so she will keep her distance.

Not gonna happen. Cade🐺🍆🌋💪 is stuck with Katrina💃💋 for days in his little one room cabin, when the heavy snow causes several avalanches to completely block the pass.

It's a kind of lust🍆-hate👹 relationship between the two of them.
Cade🐺🍆🌋 is lusting after her but he hates that she is there, upsetting his routine. Katrina💃💋 is lusting after Cade🐺🍆🌋💪, but his grumpy and clipped attitude makes her think he isn't interested. What's it gonna take?!

ARC Received from HG for a Voluntary and Honest Review
I also got the book📑 with KU.

This is a well written book📑 and held my interest all the way through. Both characters say some hurtful things to each other before they decide having 🔥hot Naassty mountain man sex🐺🍆🌋💪 is much more enjoyable and fun than being angry most of the time!

The book📑 is written from dual points of view. There are extended, well written XXX scenes. Recommend for an evening of escapism into the mountains in winter. ⛄

Georgia Le Carre is on my auto buy list. Once this was released, I was super excited to read it. But I'm thinking it is not my favorite of her books. I liked the characters. I liked how the main lady, Katrina, had a big boisterous laugh, and was laughing her way through her hard times with Cade. I have a big laugh, and go through life laughing. So that struck a chord with me.

Cade has been just demolished by his past. He left everything he knew to go into a run down cabin in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. He has no life left inside of himself. He spends most of the story in a grumpy mood. As bad as I felt for him, I just didn't like him so much. He redeems himself by the ending, but it was just too late by then.

Speaking of endings... this one felt rushed. I feel like everything was just a little to perfect. I feel like Cade was a little too understanding of what Katrina had done. I feel like there should have been a little more drama and groveling going on. Oh well... it was a good book. Just not my favorite.

Kindle addition comes with a free copy of Blind Reader Wanted, which I absolutely loved. So read this one, and enjoy. And read the bonus, and enjoy that too. :)

I throughly enjoyed this book. The plot was fantastic with a twist that I never saw coming. The characters were likeable especially with their flirty/hate banter towards each other in the beginning. Also, the theme of it taking place in the mountains is another plus for me. Who doesn't love a rugged mountain man?!?

The chapters flowed well. Going back an forth between Cade and Katrina's POV. All of a sudden chapter 32 hits...BAM! The plot thickens. I love when you are pretty much slapped in the face with a change you didn't see coming. Makes things interesting! Absolutely a great plot twist that made things interesting from that point on.

Also, the cover for this book is amazing! Exactly how I picture everything. This will definitely be one that I will get in paperback to display on my bookshelf.

As always, Georgia Le Carre has created a great story. Aria is trying to support herself while also providing care for her paraplegic sister. Cade has sequestered himself in a mountain cabin to shut himself away from the world after he suffers a tragedy. Aria crashes her car on a snowy mountain road near Cade's cabin. Cade rescues the unconscious Aria from her car after hearing the crash. The weather and a nearby avalanche keep them bound to Cade's cabin for a few days, where their instant attraction to each other blossoms beyond their control. Why is Cade fighting against this attraction so hard? Why doesn't Aria have more faith in herself? Who is Lynn? Purchase this book for the answers to these questions and more. Loved the ARC version of this story and this is my voluntary review.

When Cade suffers a tragedy, he decides to hide himself away on a mountain. He's alone with his thoughts and that's the way he likes it. Until one night he hears a noise and remembers it, so he runs toward the wreckage and manages to rescue the driver. Katrina is a beautiful woman and Cade's not immune, even though he'd like to be. His heart may be frozen, but his body isn't. But when Katrina's big secret is revealed, will Cade ever forgive her?

I thought His Frozen Heart was a short piece of steamy fluff. There's not much character or relationship development, but it is pretty hot. If you want something steamy and short, put His Frozen Heart on your TBR list.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

His Frozen Heart was captivating! Cade is a sexy and brooding mountain man. What happens when he stumbles upon an accident and discovers a woman named Katrina in the wreckage? Cade has experienced tragedy and basically closed himself off from the world. Can the woman he saved break him out of his shell? Katrina has secrets. Will these secrets destroy the foundation that is being built between Cade and her? I thought this book was emotional, sensual, and intriguing. Will Katrina and Cade get their happily ever after they both need and deserve? Georgia Le Carre gave us a wonderful and sultry story about two people from different back rounds that make a connection and just get each other. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and look forward to reading more from this author.

a new release from her i`m awaiting her next. His Frozen Heart is a great story. Cade who wants to get away from the rat race after a personal tragedy and Katrina who becomes his infatuation makes for an awesome read. With it`s ups and downs throughout this book i was convinced these two people
were made for each other. Iv`e always loved the way Georgia`s books flow so easily from one chapter
to another and always hold my focus from start to finish.
I was given this ARC to read for an honest and unbiased review.

Awesome!

Cade was definitely dealt a bad hand. He didn't provide the love and support his wife craved and she dis something that changed their lives forever. He's hidden himself away on a mountain for 2 years. Now Katrina lands in his life and there is this magnetic field pulling them together. I love the gruff mountain man act and how fun they were together. I enjoyed learning more about Cade and Katrina. I read this one on KU.

Cade was a broken man so he came to Dogwood Mountain to get away from life. Now two years later, he hears a crash and finds Katrina has crashed her car and once he sees her, is instantly attracted to her. Can she put together his broken heart? This is a fast paced read with plenty of drama and emotion. I really liked the characters as well as the story. The chemistry is steamy and the story holds your interest throughout. A good read.

What a fantastic story. I’ll admit, I was really worried about the job she was suppose to be doing. I thought she was about to rip him off or something, but when the truth comes out...well, let’s just say I wanted to cry for them both. She’s only trying to save her sister, and he’s trying to recover from a severe loss. Honestly, tears have come to my eyes so many times...anyway, you’ll definitely love this one!

Melting hearts

Totally unexpected plot twist that I didn't see coming, loved the story of Cade and Katrina. When tragedy leaves Cade broken and frozen as the mountain that he is hiding on, he doesn't think anything will thaw it. Katrina has to help her sister, she was expecting to get stuck on the mountain with a grouchy handsome man during a blizzard.
