This could have been the start she was looking for. It could have been, but it was fast turning into a nightmare rather than a dream come true.
Every actor and actress is given a role to play. Her script character was supposed to be fictitious. Her script character was supposed to get a threat note painted on her mirror, get hit by a car... and die. Not her.
The filming crew is huge, but who could possibly want her dead? Time runs short as she realizes she only has a few scenes left. She is still assigned the death role, only... with her own life.

Great book! It was hard to put down, I just wanted to keep reading. The plot was captivating, the characters are well developed. It was easy to see God’s hand all over it. I would recommend it to everyone.

Woah...where do I start? This was all I wanted it to be and so much more.
Thrilling mystery? Check.
Unreliable characters and a slew of surprises? Check.
Yet, beneath it all, the overall themes of faith, love, and friendship shone through, making this much more than just an average murder mystery.
Much of the characters had deeper undertones than first expected, each with a problematic past, or a truth they wished stay buried. Hannah Kay truly has a gift with building characters. Including a diverse heroine with Christian views and values can be risky, especially in this day and age, but the author handled it with ease, linking Esme's faith to the overall plot. Even Non-believers will admire the main character's willfulness to spread the love of Christ everywhere she goes.
The mystery, while at first only a minor part to the story, was layered with surprises and revelations that I dare any reader of the genre to solve. I am still reeling over several of the plot twists!
Overall, this was a fun, deeply layered murder mystery with plenty of surprises to keep readers turning the pages! I can't wait for the next installment in this series because...CLIFFHANGER!

Wow...I mean just...wow. You know a book is amazing when you read it in less then three days!
From the first page of this book, I was instantly absorbed and hooked on it. I could not put it down! I laughed and cried so much. I think I’ll be emotionally unstable for a while😂😭 but in all seriousness, this was an amazing book. The plot was so intriguing and always filled me with never-ending interest. I wanted to just keep reading and reading. The emotions portrayed by the characters and their reactions to all the situations they had to overcome was so heart touching. And the way the story showed their journeys with Christ and their relationships with Him growing stronger through every trial is so inspirational. It really shows that God is one hundred percent in control over everything in our lives. And on top of all that there was constant mystery and thrill throughout the whole book. It’s an absolute MUST READ. Thank you for blessing us with this book Hannah! I look forward to reading more of your work.☺️

Oh. My. Goodness.
Hannah Kay is an incredible writer with amazing talent! Her attention to detail is glorious!!
Each character had astonishing personality written with perfect penmanship.
This will be my complete review for the whole series.
Over all, I LOVED THEM! Amazing mystery thriller!
*SPOILERS*
Esme annoyed me at first, but than again, what is the point of a book if the character don't change in the end and become stronger?
Chris had an extraordinary character and grit.
Kaleb was hilarious and was the best side character imaginable!
Jayden had an amazing backstory and fascinating reason to his actions. He was one of the best bad guys I have ever read. He was so sly.
It's the sort of book that you miss the characters once it's finished.
I loved the smaller characters, although all the characters were twisted into the story and had a part to play in the plot that made it critically important that they were there.
I loved the change of attitude in Reid and he actually became funny. Same with Lily, she became more laid back.
Allen, oh Hannah! You did an incredible job with the guilt-trip Allen had. I'm writing a character with major guilt and the way you wrote it is aspiring.
Mac was hysterical! I laughed out loud so many times!
Grey was an interesting case, but I liked him.
Oh...I almost forgot Adi. I literally cried so hard and silently when she died. I was reading at 5am because I couldn't set the book down and I read her death then.
I loved how the third book ended! (Hannah, why stop there!?)

Well, that's my review. I could rant on about those books for hours and hours. But that's a long review in and of itself.

Death Role is sooo good! I loved every second of the book! It is high-quality stuff for an author so young in my opinion! Hannah Kay has true talent! The book had real substance and depth to it! There were little details and plots twists and everything that appears in the best murder mysteries! I loved all the characters! You can tell that Hannah took the time to really plan out her characters and their backstories! She made them into real people, not just characters in a story that have no meaning. The reader can relate to the characters and the things they struggle with. Ultimately I loved how God was so real in the book, and the testing of faith as a major theme. Hannah really showed what it's like to have a hard life, go through trials that are heart-breaking. She showed how life is hard and is sad, because we live in a sinful world. We can't escape evil or heartache. However, Death Role points us to the One that is always with us! The One who promises us everlasting, perfect life after this life! Who loves and forgives us no matter what we have done in our pasts! It is truly amazing. Real talent and dedication was put into this wonderful book. I personally can not wait for book two and three!

Absolutely Speechless, precisely how this book left me. Hannah Kay's 'Death Role' is so authetic, remarkable, and powerful. Not only that, but it really makes you feel something. It's not just a book to read but more a book to read and take something from. Hannah Kay does an astounding job at creating a thrilling story that is incredibly challenging to put down because you want, no, NEED to know what happens next. The amount of times she left me on the edge of my seat wanting more was unreal. It just really goes to show that she has a truly God given talent for writing! My favorite aspect to her writing is ultimately feeling like I am embedded right into the adventure of the story myself!
Now it's onto the second book - 'Death Accomplice' - in the Unaccounted For Trilogy, because I just NEED to know what happens throughout this series!

The first installment of Unaccounted For has firmly cemented the series and its brilliant author, Hannah Kay, as all time favorites! The story takes place on a movie set, and the added effect of the movie being filmed made the intricate plot unfold in two intertwining stories, (the movie plot and the main plot of the book) basically making this two books in one and is really quite ingenious. The story has cunning villains and relatable protagonists that you can't help but root for. Perhaps the best aspect of the book, however, is how it incorporates the love of Christ into the story. Never have I read a book series that helped me grow in my faith and at the same time kept me on the edge of my seat. This series is as entertaining and suspenseful as it is impactful, and I would recommend it to anyone. The author is so incredibly amazing, I can't wait to see what else she has in store!

I used to devour Nancy Drew books in middle school and Jodi Picoult in high school. This was my first "for me" fiction book in years (mostly reading with my preschoolers ha!), and it was a fun and engaging read! The characters were interesting and definitely a few surprises along the way. I didn't want to put it down, but I also appreciated that I felt encouraged as I read it, rather than feeling anxious reading a mystery book and having trouble sleeping later. But it only took me a couple days to read!

What a fantastic story! There was so much of the book that I never would have predicted. I love how well the story captures the love for and of Christ. The main character felt like a slightly different version of myself. It was relatable and made me want to build a stronger relationship with God. Fantastic read that will keep you on your toes.

Great debut book. A few distracting misspellings (rapper instead of wrapper and limes instead of lymes), but overall a fun read. I look forward to more from this author.

Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. I stayed up till 2 am to finish it and it was so worth it! I shared with my cousin and she read it just as fast. Although the characters deal with problems that your average American would never face, the feelings and decisions of the main characters allow readers to feel and instant connection. I definitely will read the rest of the series and share it with my friends!
