When reporter Guinivere Jones's ex-husband shows up on Sanibel and then becomes the chief suspect in a crime, Guin is lured into helping him. Can she reel in her emotions and catch the killer? It’s been nine months since Guin moved from cold, gray New England to warm, sunny Sanibel—and she’s never been happier. She has a great new job, working for the local paper; a great new beau, a sexy marine biologist; and a great little apartment, just minutes from the beach. Even her two cats love it on Sanibel. Everything has been going great for Guin (except maybe finding that dead body, but she found the killer and turned it into a killer story). That is until her ex-husband, Art, shows up. Within 24 hours of his arrival on Sanibel, for a fishing trip and sales conference, Art becomes the prime suspect in the disappearance of his rival. And it’s going to take all Guin’s wits to keep him out of jail—and out of her bedroom. Can she do it? The second book in the Sanibel Island Mystery series, SOMETHING FISHY once again features intrepid reporter Guinivere Jones; her sometime nemesis, Detective William O’Loughlin; her best friend, Shelly; her marine biologist beau, Dr. Harrison “Harry Heartthrob” Hartwick; and her two feline companions, Flora and Fauna—along with several new characters sure to delight.

I LOVE reading about my home town and all the wonderful places on Sanibel and Captiva. I just finished Something Fishy!! I can't wait to read the next installment of the series. These characters are so rich and appealing I feel like they are MY friends. I love that I can get in my car and drive to these places and see where Guin has been!! GREAT BOOK!!!!
I love these Sanibel books. I love that area and can picture the beaches, shells and beautiful weather. This book was a shocker. Now I’m heading to book #3. Thank you Jennifer Schiff for your wonderful writings.
Whenever I visit Sanibel Island, I purchase another book in this series. Well, I just went there, so I got book 2. Such a fun, easy, light beach read! Really makes me want to move to Sanibel! I really liked this one! Guin is getting a bit sassy in her choices of men, lol. Can't wait to head back and get the third book!
The perfect follow-up and another great romp through Sanibel and Captiva islands! Quin's dining choices always influence my own and her carefully crafted characters add just enough spice without becoming jalapeno level. Just a delightful read! Can't wait for book #3 in the series.
This book was even better than the first in the series and I couldn’t put it down. I love how fun these books are and they’re perfect summer reads. I’m already starting the third one!
I really enjoyed this book!!! Having been to Sanibel Island and did some shelling on the beach I felt like I was really them!!! It's been 9 months since Guin moved from the cold New England to sunny Sanibel. She has a great new job working for the local paper, a great new beau and a great new apartment just minutes from the beach. Even her two cats love living there. Then her ex-husband Art shows up. Within 24 hours of his arrival for a fishing trip and sales conference Art becomes the prime suspect in the disappearance of his rival. And it's going to take all Guins wits to keep him out of jail and out of her bedroom can she, do it???? Loved this story could not put this book down!!!!
This was my second read in the series and I am enjoying reading about Guin’s adventures. In this book in the series, Guin’s ex-husband Art comes to town and gets embroiled in the midst of corporate intrigue, a murder plot and tries to find ways to win back Guin’s heart. Art doesn’t stand a chance despite his futile attempts to prove he’s a changed man, but Guin manages to help keep him from getting into worse trouble as she truly believes him incapable of murder.
Great romp. Series would even make a Hallmark movies and mysteries TV movie series.
I received this book as a gift due to my family's long history and close ties with Sanibel Island. While I appreciated the setting, it felt very forced and predictable. Too many landmarks were awkwardly mentioned (did Doc Ford's sponsor this book?) and the storyline was immediately apparent. It's rare that a book is this difficult to get through, but I'm glad it's over. Would not recommend.
This was a fun “souvenir” I picked up at Mackintosh Books on Sanibel Island. It can easily be read without having read the first one in the series. A nice addition would be drawings or photographs of all the different shells Guin mentions during her shelling excursions on the beach. Nice beach read, good plot and characters, but not too deep.
I just love how Jennifer writes about Sanibel and fort Myers area. And also her knowledge about shelling. The story is the cherry on the top. On to the next one. Can't wait to see who she ends up with.
Book 2: Another mystery, another death (2), and several beaus! Who could ask for anything more….Oh wait, how about a wonderful ocean view resort town!! Perfect location for the mystery. A great story, even better cliff hanger…Guess I will have to read the next installment!

I love this mystery book , and it keeps you guessing. I love the characters, and where the story takes place. I'll definitely recommend this book I all my coworkers.
Cozy mystery. Pretty simple, easy read. A little tedious with the ongoing narration of even the smallest daily tasks. Interesting having visited Sanibel recently. Fist book in the series was better
I am enjoying this series….easy light reading. Quick read with some intrigue! I will continue the series! What’s next for Guin and who does she wind up with…..?
This funny and scenic cozy mystery set on the island was lovely. Also the outlandish expectations of a certain eccentric character was absolutely hilarious!
