This work put out by Banner of Truth covers the topic of Faith in the Christian believer. What is Faith? Who provides Faith? Is Faith stackable or one size only? Wells major thesis is that Faith is only attainable by God’s gracious gift to those on whom he chooses to bestow it. That means several things, but primarily that we cannot merit grace or attain through any action of ourselves. If this is true, and it is, then salvation (which is attained by faith in Christ) has the same origin as Faith. If we are justified by faith, and we are, then our justification is both accomplished and applied through the work of Christ on our behalf and not through any work or choice that we might do or make. The author tended to get sidetracked but the book was great for its brevity.
