Stripling Warrior #4

Arrow To His Heart

Rate this book
In a delightful new book from Misty Moncur, a broken nose and two black eyes are all it takes for her vibrant young heroine to heal the heart of a scarred and lonely ex-soldier.

Silent and invisible, Kenai was the best spy in the stripling army, but all he wants to do is forget what happened during the war. Nothing feels right at home anymore. What good is being a spy among people who have no secrets? He should just slip away into the woods and go back to being invisible, but that’s hard to do when a pretty little village girl is constantly on his tail.

Isabel can’t help but notice her brother’s friend is acting strange. They say he was a brave soldier, Helaman’s most trusted spy, but men like that don’t sleep all day, refuse to eat, and avoid their friends. So Isabel does a little spy work of her own, and what she finds in the warrior’s wounded heart might just help her find what’s hidden deep inside her own.

Gosh! Love these books! Moncur takes another character from the previous books, a character we have grown to love during Keturah's story, and resolves his story line. I love the details and real life breathed into a scripture time I have always loved. (With four sons, you just have to love the stripling warriors!) I have read all four of Moncur's books in the past 12 days, and now...(sigh)... I have to wait WEEKS for another. Can't wait!

I am enjoying these off-shoot stories from the stripling warriors. I am so happy Kenai found someone to equal his fierce loyalty. This was another bible time period with decisions and choices based on that time. Again, another great girl power book for girls in this day and age.

This is my favorite book in the Stripling Warrior series! Kenai and Isabel are some of the best characters that Misty developed.

A good story

I enjoyed this book. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first started it, but then it drew me in Hook line and sinker. It was a beautiful love story.

Arrow to His Heart is my favorite book in this Stripling Warrior Series! I love Isabel. She is sassy and giving, prickly and deep. Above all she wants to honor her parents and be true to God and what she feels is right. Would it be too much for her to just follow her own heart instead of ‘some man’? I love her fun wit as well as the author's imagery.

Isabel’s story is never dull. Her sassy and often conflicting outlook makes a deliciously tense atmosphere to spark and nourish some undeniable love.

Again with this book, great book club topics could include repentance, the love of God, the word of God, obedience, following the spirit, and(maybe, and very lightly) handling sexual abuse – just to name a few. Though this book is highlights how to practically apply teachings found in The Book of Mormon (where you find the parent story), the concepts and principles can be universally discussed.

This awesome story is clean. There is matter of fact violence and sexual abuse that is suggested by not addressed in depth. I would recommend this book to all ages, especially if I could talk with the younger readers afterwards about different themes, issues, topics in the book. What a great discussion opener.

This book can be read alone, but you will love the characters so much more if you read books 1-3 first. Book 5 is available and book 6 will be out any day.

Even though I did enjoy Isabel's and Kenai's story I feel this is the same as the first, same story , other names. The hinted love triangle , the courting and betrothal.

The religious talk was to much and I now realize that from the first book there's no indicating that these series are in fact all about some religion. You can't find it back on Amazon unless you look at the reviews. It's misleading.

The story's do have a lot off heart but are sometimes unreality all the people in stories are goodhearted, no traitors, no friends or family die during the war. Every character is so sweet and loving, forgiving yes there's some jealousy but that was all for a girl or boy.

So good! This book made me feel warm and fuzzy inside as well as delving into topics that are intimidating for anyone but especially youth. I thought the writing was clever and the characters wonderfully refreshing. I was so glad that this wasn't like most books out there in the world that focus on negativity, but was clean and happy. The characters were so well developed that it was like being apart of their village and their problems and embarrassment and confusions and all those other messy emotions. Recomend to everybody!

Hard to put down. A pleasant read stemming from a variety of emotions from well developed characters.
