At one time, I had truly believed that I’d experienced enough drama in my life.
Clearly, I’d been wrong.
It all began the night before I was due to start my final year of school—the night of my eighteenth birthday. Since I had been considered “missing” for three years, I had failed to finish off the last year of my education. This was why I needed to let loose a little. I was turning eighteen and was finally legal to drink, so, why not? The next morning, I would be going to school with a bunch of ladies three years younger than I was. Even if it was for no other reason, I felt this entitled me to have a little fun.
The night started off well enough: Girl meets boy. Girl gets dared to buy boy drink and kiss him within fifteen minutes of receiving said drink.
It sounds like it would have been plain and simple, right?
Wrong.
I had no idea that his kiss would be the kiss to end all kisses. One taste of him, and I was lost for the first time in all my eighteen years.
But I wasn’t meant to feel anything… Three years of living in Hell had taught me that. But, this man … just … awakened me.
I went home that night feeling both alive and scared shitless at the same time.
However, that wasn’t the worst of it.
The very next day at assembly in school, we were all introduced to our new headmaster…
None other than the very same man who had—just the night before—locked lips with me in the most hypnotic, take-your-breath-away kiss I had ever had.
Yeah, I am seriously screwed.
He’s a forbidden fruit that I long to taste again. No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to get that kiss out of my head. So badly, I want to escape him, his presence, his ... everything.
It seems, however, that the universe has other ideas.
*I don’t want anyone to feel misled, so I’m adding a sort of disclaimer to this book.*
To my longtime readers: You all know what sort of books I write and what to expect (even if it’s the unexpected). Darkness is a defining element of most of what I write. That’s why I would like to introduce HEADMASTER to you as being unique among my books. It is a contemporary romance novel with threads of dark woven through it. It’s not what you’re used to, but if you like this genre as well and are willing to give me a chance, it is my hope that you’ll enjoy it for what is, since it can’t properly be compared to anything else I have written to date.
To new readers: Welcome, and please take this statement in reverse. HEADMASTER is the tamest I’ve written, but if you enjoy it and a also enjoy books that have a little more bite, I hope you’ll enjoy the others as well.

Headmaster (stand-alone) opens up to eighteen-year old student Sasha Blakely aka Ray Johnson kissing a handsome stranger in a bar. She is trying to recapture her life after surviving a 3-year-long tragedy, more to unfold with story.
Just one kiss…
But they both felt something. Imagine Sasha’s shock starting school the next day and realizing the sexy stranger is her new girl’s school headmaster. Twenty-seven year old Easton Lockhart is making a fresh start in a new town.
A forbidden love…
Their connection is instantaneous, undeniable and reckless. They have eight months left of the school year. If they can just be discreet maybe no one at school will notice. But what they fail to consider is that someone way more sinister is watching…
One mistake…
Told from dual POV, it’s a love-at-first-sight, cannot-stay-away forbidden romance set against a suspenseful plot that evolves into an against-all-odds second chance at love. At times if felt a little disjointed with so many plot angles, but what held it together was Easton and Sasha both being so deserving of love and a HEA. I had to see them through.

ARC provided to me by author Jaimie Roberts in exchange for an honest review.
“Humid seal of soft affections, Tend'rest pledge of future bliss, Dearest tie of young connections, Love's first snow-drop, virgin kiss.
Speaking silence, dumb confession, Passion's birth, and infants' play, Dove-like fondness, chaste concession, Glowing dawn of brighter day.
Sorrowing joy, adieu's last action, Ling'ring lips, -- no more to join! What words can ever speak affection, Thrilling and sincere as thine!”
A love so powerful that started with a Kiss💋, it's like Universe is throwing the lovers together for a cosmic union. Telling them it's Fate! That's what Ray "Sasha" Jackson & Easton Lockhart share in a tiny bar. It starts as a dare by Brett The Barman, but as soon as their lips lock, their destinies are locked, intertwined for ever. A tiny not of a problem though, that simply refuses to away is just in the periphery, waiting to just invade and huff & puff their fragile love shack away, cause he's the Big Bad Wolf. Theirs is a love forbidden. She's a senior in High School, where he's the Headmaster!! The urge to kiss again and hide from prying eyes is a constant battle of wills and heart. It's a push and pull. “You and I, we are like two sides of a coin. Inextricably drawn together, but also pushed in opposite directions.” I suddenly have this overwhelming desire to curse at the universe for ever letting me fall for a man I cannot have. Right guy, wrong place and time.
Jamie has written the story well. The angst factor is soaring as you turn the pages, but so is the danger. It's parallel lives of Sasha, which sadly she has come to terms with. They try and meet secretly, keeping their rendezvous "accidental" and innocuous . But they're burning on the inside for one touch, one embrace, one kiss and one ride!! We should stay away from each other. But we can’t. We shouldn’t be talking to each other right now. It’ll only lead to temptation. I know, but it pains me too much to stay away. We could get into trouble. Couldn’t we just sneak around? Just for a little bit? Fuck it. Okay. There's two stories happening side by side, I just wish the emotions would've been more intense and the villain more sinister. Was a bit tame for me, but that's just my opinion. When you’ve finally gotten your freedom, the hardest thing to learn is how to trust again. That is exactly what Sasha is trying to do. Move on after being held captive for many years. Eight months she’s been back home.
Although now 18 Sasha’s main priority is passing her exams. Heading back to school with much younger girls, she just needs to make it through this year and pass her exams.
One night at a bar, a bet is made with the bartender. Sasha heads over and instigates conversation with the good-looking guy sitting alone at his table. Enough money to buy Chinese food for her and her mother, if she wins… She heads over…
Sasha is unable to stop thinking of Easton. Could that one night in the bar unleash so many feelings that she had thought she blocked?
This is a story of overcoming a traumatic experience and learning to move on in life. Accepting that because your first time may have been bad but that doesn’t mean the next time with a different man will be as bad. Forced love is wrong yet free love feels so right.
After reading this I know now that I need to read more of this authors stories as this was a fabulous read. From start to finish I was glued to my kindle.
Eighteen year old Sasha has been through so much. She’s trying to get her life back together. One night she approaches Easton through a dare. That night changes everything.
This is a fabulous taboo read. Really well written with likeable characters. I really enjoyed this story. Am definitely going to be reading more from this author in the future.
This one started out strong, but then at 40% it lost me. I found myself skimming and not really caring about the suspense. When I first started this book, I could not stop reading, then I just got bored. This is my opinion. I think some parts could have been eliminated. Simple editing could have fixed some of the problems I think the book had.
I am not sure how the heroine's trusted any of her mother's boyfriends when one of them kidnapped her.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I liked the premise of this book and the plot was interesting, although a little predictable. It was entertaining, almost no angst or suspense. English is not my first language and I am used to American English, this book is written in UK English so I struggled at times to get some references, nothing major, but didn’t help with the flow of my reading. I thought it was going to be a darker read but it’s basically NA. I enjoyed this book.
Ray Jackson is almost 18 going on 40. She’s experienced things no young girl should ever have endured. At the age of 15 Liam Winters changed her life. She’s trying to get back to the person she was before he scarred her.
She’s celebrating her birthday at a pub with her friend the bartender, Brett. He dares her to do something a little wild like get the hot customer they are checking out to kiss Ray. Let me back up, for reasons that can be traced back to Liam Winters, Ray is now called Sasha. She takes Brett up on his dare.
Unknown customer is cute, has a Scottish accent is not immune to Sasha’s charms. He’s heard their convo and he’s down for the challenge. Their kiss, well it’s amazing for both of them. It just might lead to more kisses. Easton (hot Scottish guy) is new in town –he’s starting a new job. Sasha is going back to school-she forced to sit in on classes with 15 year olds, the same age she was when her life changed, but she can take her exams in 5 months and be done with school.
You know where this is going right? New school for Sasha, new job for Easton. Yep, he’s the new headmaster at her school. Both of their jaws drop. Easton is 27 and knows he needs to curb those feelings for Sasha. He knows this…
Headmaster is darker than most teacher/student romances. That’s because of Liam Winters. He is a monster and there is just no end to his evil. If you’re in the mood for a read with two likeable characters fighting their attraction, then fighting to be together this one is for you. Lots of twist and turns to keep you flipping those pages.
Pro - I liked both our main characters. Con - The end just kept throwing out twist after turn and it was like what? Pro - I loved the heroine's Mom. Con - What was up with the attack with acid? What was that? Why? It didn't add anything. Pro - The sexy scenes were sufficiently hot. Con - Some themes and plot lines were just kind of pushed in or abandoned.
Anyway. I liked it, but with a few changes I could have loved it.
What a marvellous story of pain, trust and overcoming love. It's the story of Sasha, whose life wasn't easy and who is trying to gain her life back. She is strong, yet vulnerable young woman, who wants to sought out her demons and demolish them once and for all. Easton... When Sasha meets Easton, she's overwhelmed by the feelings that he awakens in her and while she is afraid of them, she is intrigued and wants to know more about her stranger.... But... Next day she meets him again, and alas... the handsome stranger, who consumed her by awakening all her feelings was there... as her Headmaster... Easton is such a hero, whom you imaged being a little girl. He is your perfect white knight in shining armor, saving demsel in distress.
They both feel that earth come crushing into them, that their attraction is very wrong, yet they can't deny their passion..
Can they behave being just teacher and student? Can Easton stay away from her? If not, there will be serious consequences for both of them, but is it enough reason for two souls that seem to be brought together?
Easton is my man crush and I will be in a long process of book hangover.
I’ll admit, the cover caught my attention. But, this wasn’t the book I was expecting. It was dark, in the subplot of flashbacks, and frankly, with her recall I could never get into the romance.
Sasha imo, had massive head healing she should of been going thru after being kidnapped by a madman and held for 3 years......
Also, I like my male leads a little tougher. I wasn’t getting the vibes from him.
I finished the book in all honesty for the mystery but I struggled thru it all the way to the end and it’s a long book.

“You and I, we are like two sides of a coin. Inextricably drawn together, but also pushed in opposite directions.”
I've never read a book by Jaimie Roberts but I heard good things about her books. When I first saw this book's cover, I was totally giving it heart eyes. The guy on that cover looks stunning and when I read the blurb, I knew I had to read this book. I don't mind a student/teacher romance except for those Lolita and kinky stuff. Headmaster is a light hearted forbidden romance between a 18 year old high school girl and a headmaster somewhere in his mid 20's. It's a part romance, and part suspense novel. This book is a bit different from Jaimie's dark romance novels but still a good read.
Before the start of her final year of school and to celebrate her eighteenth birthday, Sasha goes to a bar where her friend Brett works as a barman. When Brett dares her to kiss the handsome guy sitting in the corner within fifteen minutes, Sasha accepts the deal. And when their eyes meet, they both feel an instant pull towards each other and soon they have one passionate kiss. After winning the bet and going back to her home, Sasha still can't get him out of her mind. The very next day at assembly in school, she's pretty much shocked to find that he's her new headmaster. They both decide to forget their kiss and their feelings for each other but it's easier said than done when they can't seem to forget it. A relationship between them is forbidden and if caught, it will ruin her future and his teaching carrier.
I've mixed feelings about Sasha! I liked her but sometimes her actions frustrated me. She has gone through hell for three years with someone she trusted who turned out to be an obsessive psycho so it kinda seemed unrealistic to see her kiss some stranger passionately in the bar. He could be some psychopath and she trusts him because he looks beautiful. She can't stop praising his beautiful face, beautiful smile, and his sexy body. She's totally bonker's for this guy and I don't blame her. Easton is definitely a swoon worthy character. He's Scottish which makes him even more appealing. He's a perfect boyfriend who's protective, loving, and oh so sexy. I loved his scottish accent and also his nickname Nikerider. I enjoyed the forbidden romance between Sasha and Easton even though I'm not fan of insta love. Their chemistry was sizzling hot. It's a love at first sight/kiss. If you're into insta-love then you'll definitely enjoy this book more than I did. As for the secondary characters, I liked Sasha's relationship with her mom, and also her best friend Brett the Barman. He's actually a Bi but mostly prefers guys. He's totally funny and a good friend. I absolutely hated Liam Winters. He's manipulative, cunning, and all sorts of crazy.
The plot was interesting but it's also a bit predictable! Besides the romance, the story also focused on what happened with Sasha on three years of her captivity. Her past has brought some suspense and mystery to the plot, but honestly It failed to create tension. The pacing felt odd and the ending felt a bit over-dramatic and unrealistic. However, the romance and the twists in the plot will keep you glued to the story till the end. I loved the compelling writing style of the author. The book was told in dual POV's and in between the chapters we'll have a glimpses of Sasha's horrifying past.
Overall, I really liked it! Although I had few issues, I enjoyed the characters and forbidden romance between them. I might check out the author's other works.
I love Jaimie Roberts and everything that she writes so this opportunity wasn’t to be missed! She warned us all it was very different to her usual works and she wasn’t wrong! While still thoroughly enjoyable and exciting you won't find the dark that you would usually get from this author. This is a beautiful story and by the end it's given you all the feels! There are some amazing twists and turns in here! At one point i was convinced i had it all figured out… but.. I didn't haha!
This is beautifully written with a great amount of detail inside from research done! It is clear that the author put the effort in to make sure it was perfect and it has paid off!
The characters are very likable.. Well most of them anyways! They are well described and we get a good background of them.
This is a brilliant book for anyone, Its a love story, its beautiful. There are some slight dark parts but nothing too sinister in my opinion. This is a book to be enjoyed by the many and i'm sure it will be!
Such a great book. I can't believe I waited this long to devour this story.
I instantly fell in love with Easton he is such an amazing character. Sasha ( Ray) went through an extremely tough situation. Now she still suffers, but to me I think she is such a strong character. A
What a great story Headmaster is another good one from Jaimie Roberts. It is very different from what I have read from Jaimie before but just as brilliant as her other books.
The story is of Sasha, who was taken as a teenager by a man she trusted and as a child; she did not question it and believed what he told her. She is such a strong character after all she had been through but she is still vulnerable but is trying to move on with her life after getting away from him. When she meets Easton in a bar and she is instantly attracted to him no matter how scared she is of the feelings that she is feeling after meeting him she is curious and needs to know more about him. They both are fighting the feelings, they have as they should not be together, they do have a strong chemistry no matter how much they fight it, it is there.
Jaimie has done a great job of writing this book it draws you in and doesn’t let go it has a bit of everything in it to keep you turning the pages until the end.
I really enjoyed this story and I cannot wait to see what comes next from Jaimie
A great standalone story, with a woven web of pain and deciet. Once I started this story I couldn't put it down, it's completely and utterly addictive. The writing draws you in and those little unexpected twists leave you completely breathless.
This isn't a dark read, but the story is just as captivating, the intense chemistry can be felt throughout.
Seriously though, I'd have loved a manage with both of those brothers lol !
Headmaster isn't your typical teacher falls for the student book. It's so much more, much more.
Coming from an author that excels in writing the dark stuff this was certainly a change in direction for Jaimie Roberts. She took a gamble in writing something difervent and I'm happy to say that I feel it paid off big time.
I completely fell in love with Easton, he was everything you want from a book boyfriend. Sexy, brooding, protective, loving.....
This book was just perfect, a great love story with extremely hot sex scenes and a little touch of drama just to get the heart rate rising just a little.
Whether you're a long time fan of this author or never read her before give Headmaster a chance, you may just find yourself wanting more of the hot sexy Sir.
I have come to expect twists and turns, darkness and even insanity from Jaimie Roberts. She always delivers and I always delight in every delicious morsel.
This tale is much less dark than what most of us expect from her, but it’s nonetheless just as delicious.
I absolutely fell in love with Easton and felt deeply for Ray through her tragedy. They were the perfect couple, finding solace in each other, and making me swoon through their happiness and my heart ache through their struggles.
The story is both incredibly well written and original and I’m so getting this on paperback <3
I came across this book when I saw Two Sassy Chicks running a contest for an ARC giveaway. I read the blurb and got intrigued and decided to join. I didn't win but they messaged me that they will give me a copy too! (I'm so grateful!)
So all I know is that this is a taboo story about the girl and her Headmaster but I was taken aback that there's a lot more than meets the eye.
*** SPOILERS ALERT***
I got uncomfortable to be honest because I'm not really a fan of aduction scenes. I mean this kind that a person is obsessed towards another let alone she's a minor. Those were the missing years in the blurb. I tried to continue reading and I was curious how the story will go around the love and trust issues involved in the main characters.
It was a slow and hard read but Sasha and Easton had good relationship the only problem is that the timing was really off.
I was expecting a reasonable ending after all they've been through but I got lost on how it was it executed.
1. Easton got into an accident and can't get a hold of Sasha. It would've been best if he asked again his brother for help (police right?)
2. Sasha left a message for Easton on voicemail. She could've gave him her new number!
3. Sasha went to Easton's house to find another people living there. She could've asked for the whereabouts of the old family living there. (Easton said they rented the house so the family definitely knows who their landlord is)
4. This is where I went mental. Twitter. Really? The hashtags made me cringe and she heard this while lining up for coffee. I mean come on!!! I can argue that what if she didn't hear the girls talking about it right?
I would've preferred that she got to know where Easton is if she got a hold of his exhibit. It was a fully booked event so it meant that he was starting to get some buzz in the area. This scene would've been acceptable to me.
With all my observations I still found the Headmaster an ok read.
What a wild ride!!! It is insane that this author can captivate me with every word that she writes! Easton and Sasha had such amazing chemistry between them. They were fierce in their loyalty to protect each other and that speaks volumes. It took so much for Sasha to become such a strong woman. Easton's influence definitely made her start to trust and let her guard down with him. Liam was such a vile, nasty parasite! I absolutely hated him! But I loved the story in its entirety! Jaimie Roberts is an author that can make you either despise a character or fall in love with them in the blink of an eye. Pure and raw talent that just opened your mind and your heart. Loved this book so much!
Romantic Suspense you won’t want to put down. What a thrill I have experienced while reading this story. It’s not what I expected at all, don’t get me wrong I definitely thought it was going to be saucy, and I got that in spades, but the rest just blew me away. I was on the edge of my seat while reading most of this book. At one point I swear I stopped breathing. So, so, so good.
Ray the most sweetest girl you could ever meet. She is beautiful, smart, as strong as an ox and has a heart of gold. She has had to deal with seriously difficult situations while growing up. Some things no child or young adult should ever have to go through, but she did, and she survived everything that was thrown at her.
Life can be cruel, and also a blessing. It always feels like the world is either against you or God loves you. When Ray is dealt her next dilemma she does so like an adult. Everytime I think she’s definitely going to flip now, she just takes it all in her stride. The woman deserves a medal.
Mr Lockhart the Headmaster, the delicious Headmaster, the I want to chomp on his… Headmaster. All I’m saying is he could give me detention any day of the week, and I’d gladly do it with bells on. He is such a sweet man with a body to die for, I’m sure you got that by now. Mr Lockhart known as Easton see’s Ray as much more than a student, and the same could be said for Ray, she knows Easton is the Headmaster, but it has no effect on how she feels about him.
Easton and Ray have to stay away from each other easier said than done that’s for sure. It’s like the old saying, all good things they must come to an end, especially if it is forbidden. There will always be consequences when breaking the rules.
This story had me up and down, I was on a rollercoaster of emotions. The twists were so unexpected, I could hear myself gasp. I had tears streaming down my face at one point. It was such a powerful read that I connected with everything that was written. The characters were beautiful, well not all, but each one that played a role and played it well.
There is a definite possibility that we could hear more from this story, a series maybe? Other characters were itching to be heard I just know it, and I would say that this story could go further. There is no cliffhanger it’s just that well you’ll understand where I’m coming from once you read.
I would one hundred percent recommend this book to all lovers of Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense. It was an epically fabulous read.
The H and h meet and feel an instant connection, and then learn the next day they shouldn’t pursue their feelings. They fight the attraction but have difficulty resisting the strong pull.
I liked both characters well enough. The love they felt for each other was genuine. Parts of the story with respect to Liam were a little hard to believe, and I struggled with the situation the second time. In the end this was an okay read, and the H and h do get their happy.
I’ve always loved the books that come from Jaimie, I knew going in this wasn’t a “dark” read that we’re used too. But you know any subject that takes you to a place of questioning a horrific time in your life can be dark and this for me has dark elements of a truly horrible situation.
Going to a place in your mind that casts a shadow of memories you’d rather forgot but you just can’t, a feeling a memory a judgemental look can take you right back to a place you’d rather forget, especially when you’re trying to move on with life love & conquering even the basic of things..... and this is how life is for Ray. Always!
I wanted to get inside my kindle to hug this girl.
Easton my little Scottish friend I absolutely love you & I can’t wait for people to read this and find out why you are truly beautiful.
This book shows a story of hope, new beginnings and looking forward in life. Looking back is ok but don’t stare too long.
I really hope you take the leap of faith and one click this Jaimie I bloody loved it. Well done for taking the leap of faith to write something different and going with your heart and stepping out of your comfort zone and then to push publish. I love you 📚♥️
3 stars It’s an OK read - save read No not taboo considering the circumstances the Met up before the “ not well circumstances “ That the H actually headmaster of h new school
Considering h is a victim which experience Stockholm syndrome to the worst I’m glad the author don’t put her character into some dramatic victim
I appreciate the honesty between h & H - not much hidden agenda, games playing during their relationship beside the hiding due to the again “ circumstances “
What I found a little bit ridiculous how of the mother of h put not knowing who H actually even after spending x-Mas at H family in Edinburgh while all H family knew all to well the secret their been hiding
h is pretty mature and not having meek character The sex scene is safe and i really can’t make it to get taboo enough H just a decent , sweet person - don’t find much Alpha in it
Anyway it’s quite decent book to read ( less angst ) Still wonder the woman who attacked h was the Catherine who obsessed with Easton
This book is quite different it's lighter, a contemporary romance if you will. Found it slow going to start, not sure where the story was going, seemed to fitter back and forth for awhile. Overall once the storyline developed the better the journey.
This book turned out to be nothing like I expected, but so much more! It’s one of those books that you start and within a chapter or two you just know it’s going to be amazing 😍 I couldn’t put it down! I’m ashamed to say it’s been sitting on my kindle for two damn years! 😬😂 I could kick myself for leaving it so long.
I was expecting a taboo relationship of a young teenager crushing on her headteacher and then it turning into more. But it wasn’t that at all.
Sasha is 18 and heading back to school to complete her GCSE’s because when she was 15 she was abducted by her mother’s new boyfriend. He had wormed his way into their life solely with his eyes set on Sasha. He held her captive for 3 freaking years, told her her mother was dead and slowly convinced her that she was better off with him, that she had no one else. Anyhoo, now Sasha is free, back home with her mother and desperately trying to get her life back on track (with a new identity). Before school starts she meets a guy in a bar and they hit it off immediately. Their chemistry was amazing, right from that very first meeting. The kids blew them both away. Then she goes for her first day at the school... and there he is!
You didn’t need to convince me, fuck all. I wanted to kiss you from the moment you walked up to me and opened that cute, feisty mouth of yours.” I bite my lip and try to suppress my smile. “You win, sweetheart.”
***
“Your what?” he chokes loudly. “Yep. You inadvertently bet me to kiss my own headmaster.” Brett starts laughing so loudly that the whole bar turns their heads to look our way. “Shh,” I hiss, trying to calm him down.’ 🙈😂
I fell in love with them as a couple and Easton completely stole my heart. He’s just the perfect guy 😍 So ensues a push and pull relationship, they know they have to stay away from each other. He would get fired, she might not be able to do her exams that she’s worked so hard for. BUT they cannot stay away 😍
“You remembered my face.” He stops dead for a moment, and no words are spoken until he says, “I remembered everything about you.”
There is so much to this book that it’s impossible to cover it all and especially without ruining it for others. But it’s a story about new love, healing, hard life lessons and overcoming immense pain and suffering. It is hard to read at times, some drama and angst too, but it’s also funny and sweet and sexy and has a HEA that made my heart so happy! ❤️
The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because of a few little things that irritated me -
2021 = 4 stars 2024 = 2 stars / skimmed a lot (I have no idea why I liked this so much in 2021.)

Sasha (18) is a beautiful blue-eyed blonde. Easton (27) is her amazingly hot headmaster.
Ray was abducted by her mother's boyfriend, Liam, at age 15. She escaped at 17, and she and her mom were relocated and given new identities. Ray is now Sasha.
She was with Liam for two years. The book incorrectly states "almost three years" or "three years." Sasha says, "He was all I knew for three full years of my young life."Wrong! 🤦♀️
The story begins on Sasha's 18th birthday, eight months after her ordeal with Liam ended. She’s celebrating at a bar with her BFF Brett, the bartender. Brett is a one-dimensional character who favors men. His sole purpose is to bring the MCs together.
At the bar, Brett dares Sasha to get a kiss from Easton, the man working in the corner. Sasha approaches Easton, describing him as "divinity incarnate," and succeeds, winning twenty pounds. A love connection has sparked between them.
The next day, Sasha starts school and sees Easton again. Easton, the school's new headmaster, is the youngest in the UK. He supposedly likes and wants to keep his job. Sasha mentions her remaining education, giving three different time frames: six, seven, and eight months. 🤷♀️ Her education is supposedly important.
Despite pathetic efforts to stay apart, they keep meeting. It's an unseen force that is locking them together. 🙄 Their rapid connection defies logic, especially considering their pasts: Easton was stalked by a student and had to leave his job, while Sasha trusts no one after Liam imprisoned her, lied, and caused her .
An aroused Sasha thinks:Easton is about the most beautiful man I have ever seen after all. I’ve never felt such lust for anyone in my life.
45%: Two months later, The MCs are having sex.
▪️Easton says they need to stop. ▪️“I can’t stop,” Sasha replies. ▪️“I can’t stop either,” he admits. ▪️“I don’t want to stop.” ▪️“I don’t want to stop either.”
🤣 Poorly-Written Sex Scene Excerpts: 🍆 🔸I’m on fire with want. My knickers soaked with desire. 🔹My breasts are swollen and my nipples pert, 🔸One hand guides underneath my head, his fingers fisting my hair as he manipulates my head. 🔹My stomach clenches and expands to my arms and legs. 🔸Tears pool my eyes. 🔹Our upper limbs entwine with each other, trying to undress one another as we reach the top of the stairs. 🔸“My God, you’re beautiful,” he whispers, causing wetness to pool between my legs. 🔹We lock lips, our limbs inter-lock with each other as we try to grab, feel, touch, and taste every single molecule of each other. 🔸...a constant zapping of need reaches every part of me. 🔹I blow, screaming out his name as my orgasm riddles through my whole body. 🔸I know that come Monday morning reality will hit once more and our magical spell will be zapped away from us.
The MCs are stupid: They hold hands while walking around town and at the art museum. A teacher from the school almost catches them kissing.
At 66%, Laura, Sasha's mom, discovers their relationship and orders them to stop. They agree, as there are only four months of school left. 4 weeks later, Sasha caves and visits Easton. Ugh. 😬
At 70%, Liam reappears. Sasha feels watched but thinks she's being paranoid. Her and Easton being stupid and showing PDA, allows Liam to take pictures of them. He uses the photos to blackmail her into going with him, threatening to expose Easton.
The Exciting Conclusion:
A year later, .
EPILOGUE: Five years later,
A few more excerpts to show the bad writing: In an instant his hands are all over me, tickling me so hard that I lose my breath. I’m wriggling hard, so hard that I end up flat on my back.
▪️Easton’s right, the stew is lovely. ▪️“Thank you, Evie. That was lovely.” ▪️“You’re welcome, darling,” she responds, offering me a lovely smile.
I push my boxers next until my cock springs free. As if searching for her it immediately lands at her soaking entrance.
I look down, smirking when I see he’s still wearing Nikes, even if they are a different pair this time. He notices and smirks right back. Shortly after, I do notice, however, that he’s still wearing his Nikes. I don’t know why I get a kick out of that.
My ridiculous review from 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣1️⃣ I'm honestly surprised I liked this book as much as I did! Normally, I find most contemporary romances to be boring. I lean more towards PNR/fantasy/sci-fi romances.
It was so well written though, the story just flowed smoothly and I found myself quickly immersed in the characters and their lives. I could hardly put it down, finishing it in 2 days. (A sure sign of boredom, is bouncing back and forth between two or more books.)
I really liked the MCs. They were amazing people. This reminded me a little of Slammed by Colleen Hoover.
This is recommended for those who like sweet romances, where love is quickly found and no matter what happens, remains strong and steady. (Lovely epilogue as well).
Headmaster by Jaimie Roberts was completely different than I had expected but in a good way. It's set in England and not the US so there are some slang and cultural differences for US readers in this book.
As the story begins, we learn that Sasha was held captive for 3 years by someone she trusted... whoa. How do you react, trust and love when you've been lied to and kept locked up thinking it was for your own protection? This was very difficult to read because she was so young and so vulnerable.
Sasha wants to move past her time in captivity so she goes back to school to pass her exams and get on with her life. The night before she goes back to school she's at a bar hanging out with her friend Brett who's a bartender. He's bored and makes a bet with her that she can't get the good looking guy to kiss her within 15 minutes of meeting him. She decides to take him up on his bet and her world is completely turned upside down by their kiss. The next day she goes to school and guess who her new Headmaster is? Oh my!
There's quite a few twists and turns with this story. It's not just a student teacher romance. There's some suspense in the story to go along with the romance to keep you turning the pages. You want to see what happens with this couple as well as with other secondary things/events/people in the story.
Overall, this was a dark yet not too dark read with a bit of taboo. This was an entertaining story that I enjoyed reading. You see a young girl overcome a horrible event to find love when she least expects it, but also, at a time when she most definitely needs it. The author doesn't make it easy on them or the reader, but I was quite pleased with how she wrapped everything up.
This is a lighthearted romance book with a small amount of angst and with an obvious taboo involved. I have read nearly all of Jaimie Roberts books and I have loved most of them, she usually writes a lot of dark subjects, which I absolutely adore, but this book is totally different.
Sasha accepts a bet one night in a bar, from her good friend who works there, that for twenty pounds she can get the handsome man sitting in the corner to kiss her within fifteen minutes. She wins that bet but what she did not expect to feel was this undeniable attraction to this stranger who with one kiss has made her go weak at the knees. Sasha is still getting over a very traumatic experience and has demons to deal with still, so she tries to put the gorgeous hunk with the heartwarming smile out of her head. Not so easy when she starts her new schooling year only to find out he is her new headmaster !!!
This was, like all of Jamie Robert's books, a well written story but for me, it just didn't have that kick it needed to set this story alight. Easton the headmaster needed to be much more alpha male, he lacked the intensity, the passion that was needed and also that little bit of naughtiness; yes, I wanted him to bend Sasha over his desk and spank her with a ruler, but alas none of that occurred so their taboo romance fell flat, he was just that bit TOO nice, too sweet for me. I wanted the villain of the book to be a lot more sinister which would have made this story so much more exciting to read.
It is a good read and if you aren't looking for Jamie Robert's usual dark, angsty read then you may well enjoy this one. However, I can't deny I'm a little disappointed but on the whole, it was a good story.
This book actually kinda blew me away. I did not expect it to be this good. It had a darker edge to it , or a darker past you could say. And I love romances with dark in them. Everything I've read I did not see coming. Okay, so maybe I saw a few things coming but that would be the ones that everyone sees coming. Everything else was a surprise to me. A GOOD surprise. I even shed a few tears. It kept me wanting to read more and know more and for awhile now that's been kind of hard for me.
