Read for my 2 year old nap time. A story about a shark who loves his mom’s homemade brownies. He tells his friends and teacher how delicious it is. Then when he arrives home from school, a plate of fresh baked brownies is on the table. He tries one then to be sure it’s delicious, he tries a second brownie and then a third and then…
Clark the Shark: Too Many Treats is a great book written by Bruce Hale. It follows Clark the Shark on a day that his mom was making brownies. He talks to everyone all day about how he can't wait for them and when he gets home to a plate full of brownies without his mother in sight, he can't resist him temptation to eat the entire plate! His mother is upset with him when she returns to all the brownies she worked hard to make being completely gone. She leaves Clark with an important message he soon passes on to others: Once you've had your snack, just hold back." That way everyone gets some of the snack too. This book has a good message about sharing things even if we like them so much we want them all to ourselves. The illustrations are fun, colorful, and welcoming. Clark is a shark, an animal that many people (even adults) find very scary! However, Clark is drawn in an extremely friendly manner and makes for a great story. The illustrations was a main reason I picked it up in the first place. The cover art also gives a great idea of the story since it is Clark holding the plate of brownies. I would use this book in my classroom to send a message of sharing. For example, many kids bring in class treats for birthdays. This could be a great book to use before starting that in a classroom so kids know that they have to share and only get one treat even if they liked it a lot.
This was a cute book. This is a lesson about sharing, holding up your end of things, and making things right. Clark the shark brags about his moms brownies all day at school! He tells his friends, his teachers, and even kids that aren’t his friends! He makes everyone so hungry for his moms brownies. When he gets home from school that day, his mom wasn’t home, but the brownies were. They sat on the counter, teasing Clark. He thought one would be okay to eat, so he ate one. Then he thought two wouldn’t be bad either, so he ate another, and another, and another! He ate the brownies until they were gone! He didn’t have any left for his class. His mom was mad when she got home. Clark apologized and helped his mom make another batch for his class. Clark learned that self control is important!
I always loved this book it would not even make a big problem in this situation though because they have been doing this for me so that they can make them more money
I loved this boo it sounds pretty interesting that itk if it is so easy and I can not talk t
My grandson enjoyed reading this book with me. He sometimes loses the story line as we get into a book, but his love for brownies kept him completely wrapped up in the book.
