First of all, this book was way too short for the $5 price tag. It was more of a pamphlet; it should have been $2. It took me about half an hour to read. I probably would not have bought it at all if the Kindle sample showed any of the actual book content, but it did not, so I had to take a gamble. Second, the content was way too religious. I want to help the homeless, not preach to them or convert them.

It did have a few redeeming features though; some of the advice was practical and included ideas I had not thought of. I particularly appreciated the section on what information to include on a sheet summarizing local services available to the homeless. I had always heard you should hand out this summary to be helpful, but never heard what the summary should include. This is the reason I gave the book 2 stars instead of one.
