Seagrove secrets is the 3rd book in the Love along hwy 30A series. It can be read as a standalone and is available on Kindle Unlimited.
Shayla and Chase's story has a serious and sad undertone. Some readers will love this but for me, I prefer my books a little more happy-go-lucky. Melissa Chambers is one of my favourite authors and I'm always excited to see what she comes up with next. Chase is a sweetie and Shayla is a great catch.
Shayla has split with her ex. Their relationship had got out of control leaving her a little on edge. Her ex-had started drinking and behaving badly. She had to get away and decided to stay at her brother's house. Bo is due back in town soon and Shayla doesn't want to live with a couple. She is hoping Chase can find her a new place.
Chase works in real estate and is happy to help Shayla. When they first meet he knows she's troubled and wants to help. Shayla moves into Chase's pool house and the two become close.
Neither character is looking for love but both need support. 4 stars out of 5.
This book features characters from the other books but like I said it's not essential you read them. Shayla is a little frightened of her ex at the start of the story and cautious of men. This sets the tone for the book right from the start. This is an interesting story but wasn't my favourite by this author.

The next chapter
In Seagrove Secrets Melissa Chambers deal with the issue of domestic violence. It told of how ashamed and embarrassed Shayla felt because she put up with the abuse. Chase had to learn to live again. Strong sibling love and even stronger friendships love has again been the underlying theme in this book. Well worth you time to read.

Shayla and Chase are one great couple. It took some time to get there but once it happened it was magical to see it all unfold.
Shayla is on the run from an ex and trying to move on from him. He is stalking her and not leaving her alone. So she moves back to be closer to her brother and his friends. Hoping that if she is away from the ex, he will forget about her and be able to move on without her. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
Chase offers to help out Shayla by renting her his pool house, and after a few late movie nights and snuggling and eating together, the two fall in between the sheets and heat them up! And boy do they heat them up.
Chase has a past that he has not shared with anyone in the group at all. It was a bit of a shocker to discover this secret and explains why he was a bit of a man whore in the other books. But Shayla turned him around and made him realize that everyone deserves a second chance at love and a family.
This was a real heart felt love story with real issues of domestic abuse and loss of a loved one. I couldn't put it down. I was so drawn to these characters. I didn't want it to end!

So I’ve said before that I love this series. If you can’t get to the beach, these books will make you feel like you’re driving along 30A with the characters. I think this is my favorite of the series, though. Chase and Shayla have some deep personal issues they are working through. They haven’t shared them with anyone and don’t intend to. They don’t want anyone to know. But they recognize a kindred spirit in one another. In Seagrove Secrets, you’ll find a greater depth of character in Chase and Shayla both. There are some tough issues dealt with throughout this story, but it’s told with such heart that you’ll feel you are right there alongside them, cheering them on. Even though the struggles that Chase and Shayla are going through are tough, Chambers doesn’t dwell on the negative, she has her characters push through setting an example you can’t help but appreciate. Once again, you’ll want to drive along 30A and visit each and every one of these characters!

Shayla needs a safe place to go to in order to escape her ex. He is being released from rehab for alcohol and abusive behavior. She wants nothing more to do with him. She goes to her brother Bo's place in Panama City Beach. Bo is out of town and left his dog Jake for Shayla to take care of until he returns. Bo knows nothing of the situation she has found herself in. All was fine at Bo's until one day she was startled by a key in the lock and the door handle turning. She reached for the baseball bat she kept handy and was ready to swing when the door opened. That was Shayla's intro to Chase, Bo's best friend.
That is just the beginning. Shayla is running away and Chase is hiding a big secret. Will these two be able to overcome all that is put in their way? They both aren't forgetting the 'bro code'. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I loved every minute of their story and didn't want it to end.

This Series Gets Better and Better
With each installment, Chambers infuses her beloved characters with increasing depth. No spoilers here, but the story of Chase and Shayla may be the most satisfying yet. Chambers doesn't shy away from difficult topics, but refrains from being heavy-handed. Book 4 is being published when?! Please don't make us wait too long!

A continuation of Lo e Along Hwy 30A..this one ce tars on Bob's sister Shania and his wealthy friend Chaxe.while both have deep dark se rats of their past haunting them, Chase falls for Shzyla at first site. The story continues with all the friend circle included. Starting on book 4 now!

Before I started this book in the series, I didn't think very much of Chase. Then I realised there was a lot more to the character and I could have just continued reading about his life with Shayla. They were both complex and interesting characters who made reading a pleasure.

Lovely story
Shayla is the sister of a main character in the previous book. Which is why I purchased this one. Glad I did! This is an interesting couple, both needing healing.
