Motherhood is a life-changing event in a woman's life. Keeping in mind the fast-paced lives of nuclear families and sometimes unhealthy lifestyles, Bollywood's most celebrated yoga expert, Payal Gidwani Tiwari, brings to fore the importance of preparing the body and soul for such a change. From pre-pregnancy to post-natal, Gidwani utilizes her age-old knowledge of yoga and provides essential advice to take care of oneself before, during and after the birth. Her workout sessions are especially designed for modern parents.
The subtitle of the book says, “A complete guide on yoga for pregnancy”. Unfortunately, that is not true. There is a whole lot of fundas given about pregnancy but the main focus on yoga. For tips on what to eat and what not, I have my doctor and a zillion other books on nutrition. When you look for a book on yoga, you are looking for yoga. Explaining the origin of an asana, its impact and what kind of patients are recommended/ not recommended is something I would require in a book on yoga. Even better, some short-term or long-term impacts and/or common posture mistakes would be appreciated as well. I would’ve given the book 1 star but the post delivery section is quite a redemption so rating it as 2. Huge disappointment!!
