The last thing Makayla ever expected the night she accompanied her man, Jeff, to a business meeting was to come face to face with her past, Tedric Coleman, whom she hadn’t seen in almost ten years. Despite the ache that once lived in her heart due to her and Tedric’s bad breakup, Makayla was able to find the strength and courage to move on, thanks to Jeff who’d helped her to love again.
Jeff knew that linking himself to a king of the drug world like Tedric would change he and Makayla’s lives forever; he just had no clue how big of a change Tedric would bring after being reunited with Makayla. No matter how much she tells herself that Jeff is her everything and Tedric needs to remain in the past, Tedric makes it loud and clear that he doesn’t feel the same way. Will Makayla give in to temptation and allow Tedric to awaken a love she chose not to tell Jeff about, or will her love and loyalty for Jeff cause her to remain faithful and let the past remain just that, the past?
All Tamar wanted was one night of hot, passionate sex with the notorious, Fabian Grant, a well-known drug dealer in Miami and also Tedric’s right hand man. Fabian had numerous one-night stands in his lifetime but had never come across a woman who made him want to go back for seconds. Tamar had broken the mold. Yet, because of his affiliation with drugs and her being a school principal, Tamar has no desire to see Fabian again. Little does she know, Fabian is accustomed to getting what he wants and refuses to let her break the mold twice.
Quanna and Tuck have what seems like the perfect relationship. However, Tuck can’t ignore the feeling that something is preventing Quanna from giving him her all. Just like her best friend, Makayla, Quanna is having a hard time shaking her past, but the last thing she wants is for it to cost her future. While she thinks it best she handles everything on her own, she finds herself faced with an ultimatum that leaves her wondering where her loyalty truly lies.
In Forever Mine, Tynessa takes you on a rollercoaster ride with this circle of friends and the drama that surrounds them. Sometimes love has a way of not letting you fully walk away, and some people just can’t help who they love.
I'm still trying to pick my mouth up.Like Tamiko just waltz in assume to walk straight out with the phone as if Smoke wasn't going watchher. But for Jeff to see and take the phone took the cake. But I hope Kayla and Smoke work things out.I really do feel Jeff not the o e for her. Then that Damn Tamar need to lighten with Fabian.I would be pissed what he did but hey it's life. I was hope Olanna would be took Tuck about her ex.Tynessa please hurry with the next installment
Gullible Love Story is what it should have been called bc that's exactly how Makayla looked when it came to Jeff cheating ways. Makayla was loyal to Jeff but not yo Tedric, who she claimed to have loved. I guess she tried to right her past wrongs and be loyal to current guy since she wasn't to her ex. Not only did she overlook Jeff cheating ways but a whole baby he had on her. Like girl, Makayla, when will you open your eyes. I didn't like her naive character. Jeff was a cheater and manipulator and felt like he and Dawn would have been perfect together. Jeff was a dead beat boyfriend and dad and Dawn was a drama dead beat mama, they deserved each other. Jeff was your average guy. He could cheat but not take it when the tables turned. Tedric character was swavy but I feel as he went about getting at Makayla the wrong way. Plus he had no room to judge Makayla situation when he kept his a secret. He was a great dad but he had his faults as well. Fab and Tamar could have been cute together but they we're fighting the chemistry. Big Dirt had Quanna scared to live, she gave him to much power over her life but she put herself in that predicament. I still liked Caddy for her. Tomika was a conniving trip and is about to set it off in book 2, I can only imagine.
The book was just okay for me bc it was really predictable and nothing took me by surprise honestly. And that ending was just blah. It wasn't good enough for me to want to continue. I would possibly give this Author another chance in the future. Lastly, the errors wasn't to bad but still were there.
This book was an okay read for me... I feel that it could have definitely been a 5 star read because it had a good storyline... However, there was so many errors in here...In the middle of sentences it flipped from 3rd person to 1st person... saying he when it should have been she... Missing words, to many words... Sometimes I felt like it was over explaining scenarios...It was very distracting... This pulled away from a pretty good storyline... I believe with some work it would be a great read... I liked Makayla... She is smart with a good head in her shoulders... She is just to weak when it comes to her relationship with Jeff... He has done her wrong time and time again... He even had a baby on her... And still she stuck around and is putting up with all the BS from his baby mama Dawn... Not only that he does not even treat her right and still keeps stepping out on her... Yet she is loyal to him and just puts up with this... Her friends Quanna and Tamar tried to get her to walk away but she just kept saying that she loved him and will not leave him... Well that was good and all but once her past walked back into her life... Things started to change... Jeff didn't know that his greed for money walked him and Makayla onto a ride that they will not know how to get off... Let's just say lives will be changed forever... Quanna was in an abusive relationship with Big Dirt... she was finally able to get out of that relationship... However, no matter what, he would not allow her to be happy... He would constantly pop up when she was trying to move on... Now that she is really over him and is finally finding her way out of his web... He pulls this... Now she has to decide between love and loyalty... Which one is most important to her... As for Tamar she is out here just living life as a single woman and loving it... That is until a one night stand with Fabian kind of threw a wrench in the way she was moving... It only threw her off her square just a little bit... And just when she got back on her square Fabian is back and knocked her right back off... But now where will this go... Tedric is the man in the streets.... He is out there just living life with his son... He is married to Tamiko but to him that marriage ended the day he found out she was prostituting herself... She walked away from her son for 6 months but now she is back and wants to be a family again... She is just so sneaky... I don't know why she thinks that she really has a chance to get back with Tedric... Little does she know that his past is now in his future and he wants his past back badly... I know that there is a lot of unanswered questions and things just lingering in the air... Like what will Quanna do... How will she get through this tough decision... With Makayla what will she do once she is confronted by Jeff... But wait how is he to get mad after everything he has done.... Like they say... A man can dish it but he can't take it... With Tamar... How will she handle things with Fabian... I would like to see what part 2 will bring... #143
I feel like I have read this book before. I am starting to see a trend where most of the urban authors today are using the same recycled material . The story always has a ‘boss’ that sell drugs . He has a baby momma / side chick that can never seem to let go. The baby momma/ side chick will eventually turn into crazy /pyscho killer .
Their is always a naïve but extremely loyal black woman who is committed to a habitual, manipulating cheater (abuser). She knows can do better but she just never reaches her breaking point . The constant lies and cheating which always results to unwanted possible pregnancy never seem to make difference. The said woman will remain steadfast in a toxic relationship until a new man comes in the picture to save her. She can never be her own hero .
Their is always variation like this in a lot of urban novels being released .
I have enjoyed this author's previous work and I would read part two of this series .
Oh yeah! This is a must read. The author did not disappoint. Smoke is my man candy for the day. He needs to step up his game though. Him and Kayla are meant to be. I am so pissed at Quanna right now. What the heck is she thinking? If i could jump in the book, i would choke her out until her eyes pop out of her head. Big Dirt needs to end up in the dirt, as in 6 feet under. I need part 2 asap to see if it's going to happen.
That ending was bannanas. Hope that Quanna comes to her senses and just tells Tuck the truth instead of setting Kayla up. Jeff isn't liking getting a taste is his own medicine, but it's actually hilarious considering his scandalous he really is. Tedric should've been gotten a divorce. Tomiko is about to take him through the wringer. Admire the bond these friends have built with each other. Great read can't wait for the next one.
I think I cursed more reading this book than I have ever. I can’t read another line about Makayla stupid a#@. I don’t think it’s humanly possible for anyone to be that stupid. Her, Jeff and Dawn deserve each other. Tedric needs to cut his loss and get the heck away from Makayla and Tamiko. I had already pegged Quanna as “shady boots” and her convo with Dirt confirmed it.
I don't know if I'm liking this 1st & 3rd person for this book but I get the dialogue... i just wish i could hear more of the characters speak rather than what they are thinking... but now Jeff has found and old phone case with Smoke & Makayla on it but I feel like Smokes ex wife or who ever she is did that on purpose for Jeff to see it
I love this book. The characters are something else. I couldn’t stand Tedric’s wife. She was truly something else. The rest of the characters had their moments. Things that are about to transpire have me on edge and very anxious.
Everything that happened at the end!!! If Quanna go through with that plan.. she need her butt beat.. I wouldn’t go against my day ones for a man.... but everybody has drama and I can’t wait to see how everything plays out!! Patiently waiting!
This series is off to a great start. Fab is the man, I’m liking the love/hate relationship him and Tamar is having. Even tho this is about Tedric and Makayla, that’s just not the couple I’m into at the moment. Tyneeeesa!
Love this story looking for part 2 it just can't end this way. Makayla has to get back with her first love and Big Dirt has to be stopped. I want to know what's going to happen with all the couple's
Pretty good read but I was annoyed by how many times the characters would say , "he's so sexy TO ME" or " it's so crazy TO ME" or "she's so fine TO ME." The words TO ME were over used.
This is a very entertaining story. Getting to know the characters is a hoot. Drama is a must. It leaves you wanting more. So I recommend you reading part 2 for the finally. Enjoy.
I am so tired of these books ending like they do! Jeff in his feelings now that his woman spreading herself around. Just like a man can dish it but can't it!
