Probably this is the most read book of today on Islamic belief regarding monotheism. It is a book authored on clarifying the reality of Monotheism and the different types of polytheistic beliefs and practices, the author suffices himself to mentioning the relevant Ayaat, Ahaadeeth and statements of the Salaf under each chapter and then mentions the benefits derived from them. The purpose of this course is to explain this famous book in an easy and simple way so that Muslims from every walk of life can understand the correct Islamic ‘Aqeedah, and can save themselves, their family and friends from the Fire of Hell.
An excellent and illuminating declaration of one of the most central tenets of Islam - the absolute oneness of Allah. In English, Kitab al-Tawhid translates to The Book of Monotheism, therefore many of the principles espoused do not fall far from those shared by Christianity and Judaism. However, it does appear all but the most liberal of Muslims would take issue with the Christians and the Jews being considered too close to their religion.
For a Muslim, especially one that is leaning towards adopting a more conservative and traditional life of faith, this book - and the accompanying commentary by Moosaa Richardson, which makes up probably at least 80% of the thirty-nine hour lecture series - would be very beneficial. For a non-Muslim, despite Richardson's clear dislike of them (in one or two passages, it felt like he singled me out personally, as one of those "disbelievers" that just feels an attraction to the culture and religion, without any intention of converting), this lecture series, and the original book by Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhaab, still provides a very thoroughgoing and high quality opportunity to learn about Islam.
Even if I say it as a Christian rather than a Muslim, this is a beautiful and worthwhile book, complimented perfectly by Richardson's direct and erudite style, and it draws me closer to eventually reading the Qur'an itself. It can be listened to on Spotify, along with many other audio publications, under Moosaa Richardson.
