He was a mess. A bar-brawling, heavy-drinking, barely employed disaster—but she couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Bad boy bear shifter Kade Hunter knows how to nurse a beer… but a baby? No way! He couldn’t possibly have a six-month old kid. Except, he does. His days of brawling and boozing it up at the local roadhouse are over. He doesn’t know the first thing about taking care of a kid. Terrified of making a mistake, he asks for help from the one woman who has every right to ignore him…
Ten years ago, deputy Emily Redson walked away from the hot mess that is Kade Hunter. Now a respected member of law enforcement, she can’t be seen with the bar-brawling shifter. She wants to ignore him, but the fear in his eyes makes her pause. He’s tempting in all the wrong ways, and if she can’t keep her hands to herself, her career could go down faster than his next beer. She always was a sucker for someone in need, but is trying to save a bad boy worth the risk?
This is the second book in the paranormal romance series – Bad Boy Bear Shifters. This is a stand-alone book with no cliffhangers. Love scenes are fully realized and at times include explicit language.
I'm not remotely interested in reading details about a character and an OW/OM. That doesn't belong in a romance. I also don't read on purpose books in which the main characters are or have been with other people since knowing each other. This book wasn't written well and just has too many things a real romance shouldn't have. There need to be warnings on books so people offended by this stuff can avoid them.
It ended well and was interesting, but I still can't get over time gap between the first and second times they were together. I think it was around a decade. I don't like that. I don't like when they have been with anyone else ever after being together. It ruins it for me.
It was great he took immediate responsibility for his son like someone should, and it was great he changed, but everyone who doubted it had the right to because of his behavioral pattern over time. They really had no reason to believe he'd actually change over night.
Bad Bear Daddy Bad Boy Bear Shifters Book 2 by Liv Brywood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Bad Bear Daddy is one of the best stories and it's such a phenomenal surprise. The synopsis is intriguing which makes you want to read the entire book but as I have read every book written by Liv Brywood I knew it would be a sure thing. What unfolds is a compelling story with a dynamic and inspiring main characters within a fascinating magical world. What a fabulous book to kick off the Summer reading for me. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this story. The tension between Kade Hunter and Emily Redson increases with every page. I really enjoy how Liv Brywood took her time developing Kade character, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciated that. I enjoyed Emily character from the first page. She tried to hold her own with Kade but love takes no prisoners. I enjoyed the way some parts was so real and that's no small feat. Of course someone intended for Kade to shed blood and it's the heart of his problem. She tried to turn the tables on him, and she was definitely a worthy opponent in their battle. She knew exactly how to play the game, but her quiet insanity really came to the surface when they were sparring. Family is very important to him and like his baby, he didn't like being the object of gossip because they define him by what his father did . I really enjoyed that for all his inexperience and having never taken care of a baby he tried to cover all the bases. I mean what man doesn't make you laugh so hard your stomach hurt when they change a baby's dirty diaper. While reading this book I laugh and was a little sad but I just couldn't put my reader down. Now I’m excited to read the next book in the series, particularly to see what the next Bad Boy Bear shifter will get into next. This is a Liv Brywood book, So you know those hot scenes are s-mokin’ hot. There is drama, suspense and a HEA.
A Bad Daddy or A Really Good Man ?? OVER 18 READING
This bear shifter who thinks he is the biggest, baddest, bear in his clan and he has a very long rap sheet for fighting and drinking.... And as they say it is fixing to bite him in the a**. In another fight he is surprised when a female deputy (his ex who he hasn't seen in years) arrest him but he is more surprised at what she has to tell him. His shock at having been possibly identified as the father of a baby whose mother has just died in a car accident, custody will be decided the next day if the DNA proves it is his. He knows nothing about babies, he has nothing for a baby but a fast trip to the store gets most of what the store keeper said he needed along with a baby book telling him about babies. Now to go home and prove he can care for his son because the judge gave him 90 days with weekly surprise visits from the deputy and reports to him on how he's doing before he will decide if he as father or the baby's maternal grandmother gets custody. But it's not that easy, the baby is screaming wet? No .. hungry? No Knocking , oh Shi* it's the deputy and she is mad at what she sees. There is so much fun as they each secretly begin to realize they still care about each other as friends (but both of their bears know the real truth but don't tell them, yet) . Then the judge privately tells her not to get involved until after he gets custody. There is also his mother and the sheriff getting involved, the baby is kidnapped and she plans to harm the baby. Can they stop it? What happens as he tries to grow up, raise a child, reclaim the only love he has ever had and his mother finding a HEA too makes for a really good story.
I just loved Kade Hunter. He was a guy that you would think could never get his life together. Calling him a bad boy bear shifter was putting it mildly. He seemed to love drinking and fighting. Seemed like if there was trouble it was going to find him.
I can only imagine the shock and fear when Kade found out that he was a father. I do love how he stepped up to the plate. Most men would of turn and ran the other way but he wanted to give that kid the dad he never had and I loved that about him.
I can only imagine what it was like for Deputy Emily Redson to find out the life Kade was living. Too see the mess he had truly made of his life and now to see he was a dad. WOW, that had to be truly shocking.
I loved reading how these two truly fell in love with each other all over again. Kade will have his work cut out for him on winning Emily again. There is a lot of water under the bridge between these two.
I did feel sorry that no one seemed to have confidence in Kade. It was like everyone, even though they had hope he could change, looked for him to fell. I do think this made Kade more determined.
This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read it.
Romance trope: shifter; second chance Series: Bad Boy Bear Shifters Length: 147 pages
Plot: Kade has never settled down, and he likes it that way. But after a lifetime of drinking and fighting, he finds out that he has a son that he needs to take custody of. He'll have to clean up his act, though, and his ex, Emily, now a cop, is tasked with making sure he does.
Commentary: Kade wasn't a bad boy - he was an irresponsible drunk. Yikes. However, I think that's one thing I liked about this series - the heroes were flawed, and normal people flawed, not morally grey villain flawed. Kade had reasons for his flaws, but he used them as excuses rather than explanations. What he did to Emily was, of course, nearly unforgivable (although I think she forgave him once she knew more of the truth). I like that she didn't forgive him right away, but she did jump back into sleeping with him right away. He was a mess though, wasn't he?
Grammar/formatting: needed another pass with the proofreader
I finished this book a little while ago. I loved reading it very much. Kade found out that he had a son that he was aware of. The mother of the woman that was the mother of his son died in an auto accident and his son was in the hospital for his injuries. Now Kade got himself into a fight and got arrested and they wanted/needed a DNA test to confirmed that he was the father, while he stayed in jail for the night. Now he also remit his long lost girlfriend who in turn-turn out to be his mate in the long run. He was granted temporary custody the baby's mother's grandmother went off not approving of it. She then kidnaps the baby and threatens to kill him but gets killed herself and the sheriff who is dating Kade's mom done, that it was not his fault, tells him about a job, plus goes to bat with the judge as well. In the end Kade and Emily get married, they too have a set of twins, he reunites with his brothers as well and they are all happy in the end. I did love this book very much on to the next one in this book.
Kade is a bear shifter and because of his size other shifters love to pick fights with him in an attempt to win and get a better position in the clan but no one ever does. One bar fight he gets arrested and gets a shock of his life he is a dad. Court is tomorrow be on time or give your kid up. No one thinks he can raise a baby but darnit he isn't going to let his son down. Officer Emily Redson knew Kade a long time ago he let her down once and she never forgive him no matter how many times he apologized. Now she comes back to town to find out he has a kid he never knew about and the baby's momma was killed in a car accident. Will she cut him some slack or will she be like the rest of the town always thinking the worst? Pour Kade. The guy can't catch a break. I love the characters. Lots of drama, action, spice, twists and turns in the story. It kept me glued to the story. If your a shifter fan you will love this one. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
As much as this story is about redemption and second chances I just didn't like Kade. Found him boorish, rude and basically a waste of space. I disliked the fact he said he had loved Emily since he first met her when they were teenagers but he had done nothing to make something of himself or tried to find her. Just wallowed in drunkenness, one night stands and fighting. I wonder what would have happened if Genevieve had turned up at the bar that night instead of dying in a car crash. Would Kade have been with her and never even thought about Emily. Can't really make my mind up about Emily as to whether she was a good person or just a dupe where Kade and Tucker were concerned. I did like the actual story, Tucker was a cutie and Olivia the other grandmother was one crazy nut. The epilogue was good.
Kade has spent a majority of his adult life in a bottle and brawling with other bears. Suddenly forced into parenthood, with a baby he knew nothing about, he has no choice but to change his ways. Now if he could just get the deputy to trust him like she used too. Emily left Kade ten yrs ago when he let her down in the worst way, now back as the deputy sheriff, she is put in charge of monitoring Kade with baby Tucker. Can she get over her distrust in him long enough to let him back in? Could this be the second chance love that everyone else thinks it could be? Life changes in a heart beat, it is best to just follow fate. Can he protect the family that he wants so badly or will he lose both of them forever? Check out his story if you love a good second chance!
Kade and Emily have a past. He let her down on the day she needed him the most and she hasn't forgiven him.
I loved Kade in this book. This whole book was a redemption book for him. Even though he was tagged as a bad boy bear, most of the time he was just defending himself against others. I love when he found out he was a father that he jumped in with both feet. It was fun to read about his adventures and trying to figure things out.
I had a little bit of a love/hate relationship with Emily. Ok, hate is a little strong of a word. I know on paper that Kade didn't look like a sure bet but I really didn't like that she would voice that opinion often. She didn't even give him a chance or see that he was trying.
Book two of the Bad Boy Bear Shifters series by Liv Brywood Kade is a rowdy bad boy that drank his weight in booze and was in fights all time. Emily was the new deputy sheriff town unsure how to deal with her childhood sweetheart that broke her heart and pushed her to move away. Kade gets a massive shock when he’s arrested again for drunken disorder and starting bar fight. While in custody Emily tells him he could be a father to a six month old baby. Kade has a massive melt down. I love that it’s all about Kade proving he can be a good father but all that the main female character helps but essentially leave it to him. Great story as always by LB and lovely HEA
This is book 2 in the series. I Loved It! There were a couple of times when I actually laughed out loud. I haven't read the first book, but it didn't matter. This book is a true stand-alone book. I love stories of redemption and this one was perfect! I liked the characters and the HEA couldn't have been better.
Note: When I purchased this book, the first two books from the Lone Star Cowboys series were included. Loved them, too! What a bargain! Get this book while the bonus books are included. I think that you'll be glad you did!
OK shifter romance, but I had a hard time liking Kade
This is an OK shifter romance, but I had a really hard time liking Kade. He was an alcoholic loser at first, who was always getting into fights and sleeping around. I honestly didn't see what Emily saw in him. He got better after he found out about his son, but still, he had been behaving badly for years. I also had trouble understanding why Emily had sex with him so quickly. He hurt her badly years before, and he was still behaving badly -- so why did she still want him, especially if it was risky for her career?
Kade is a bad boy that needs to be good when he finds out he is a father. Lucky for him, his ex is back in town and ready to help.
The attraction between them is still strong from that first meeting after all those years apart. I liked how the author gives you both of their points of view and you get developed characters. Kade's mom is really fun and I would love to see more of her.
I really enjoyed reading this book, my second by Liv Brywood. It was fun, made me smile and get tears in my eyes. She writes with a focus on the individuals, not typically done in shifter romance. There is no drama from clan/pack business. This is a love story. I read a review from a reader who gave it one star. She was totally off the mark. Sometimes readers need a book like this, focused on the love story. I plan on reading more of Liv's books.
Kade and Emily story started 10 years ago, but now they're back together due to he's just find out he's a father and he has 90 days to prove he can take care of his son and she the deputy the court has assigned to his case. Now the twist and turns start but their story, it will have you on the edge of your seat.
Loved this story! Poor Kade, everyone judges him on his past, but he really does want to do better for his little son. Emily is a sweet and wonderful woman, willing to put up with a big daddy bear like Kade.
And I love that we get two extra books in this story!
This was a very well written book with lots of heart. This is a story of redemption and renewal of lost love. The story has tons of drama and sweet passion all tied up with a wonderful HEA.
I just love a good secret baby romance. And the fact that this s story also has a good second chance romance plot is pretty terrific. Hooray for Kade who grew up fast when he found out he had a son. Very good story.
Kade started as a bad bear but learned the hard way to turn his life around Emily never stop loving Kade Only one excitement when Olivia tried to destroy their happy life. A lot of sexy scene
I can't believe how unhinged the baby's or he grandmother became. She was stalking Kade's while family, so that's how she stole the baby from Kade's mom. I think there was so much going on that Kade and Emily didn't realize they were mates.
I really love Kade and Emily. The struggle, the fear, the regret in his life produces an amazing change in his heart. And she is absolutely perfect for him! And I love that Tucker is an important part in the plot!
Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story. Tucker is a bear shifter who likes to drink and fight. But he needs to get himself together when he finds out he's a father. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
For as serious and at times scary this story was I was giggling or swooning most of the time. I love the devotion to family and the strong support. Second chances can be so sweet.
I really enjoyed this book📙 it was filled with family issues, friendship, drama, action, changing life and overcome past issues, romance💖 and love! On to the next book in this series.
