Richmond, Virginia - 1863 Maya Sheeran lives with her Aunt Bessie and Uncle Thomas in the home previously owned by her late father. Their attempts at playing matchmaker in Maya’s life continually fall flat, and Aunt Bessie finally presents her niece with an either marry Bessie’s son, or she will be kicked out of the house once and for all. Thankfully, Uncle Thomas takes pity on Maya’s predicament and reveals that for some time, he had been taking on her identity while corresponding with a fine gentleman who seems to be her perfect match. After some protest, Maya accepts a boarding pass that her uncle purchased for her to journey to California to meet her new beau. When she arrives, she finds that the man she has been set up with is none other than James Hawke, a boy she had fallen for when she was a teen, but had broken her heart so many years ago when he left unannounced. Will fate give these two a second chance at love? Or will James’ troubled past keep Maya from being able to fall for him once again? Mail Order Maya's Destiny is a standalone 20,000 word clean and wholesome historical Western romance novella.

Faith-Ann Smith has always loved to write. As a child, she enjoyed penning simple tales about prairie life in her home state of Oklahoma. While in college, Faith-Ann became fascinated with American history, particularly of the 19th century, and began to write creative historical fiction in her late twenties. Blessed with a loving husband and two precious children, Faith-Ann enjoys knitting, teaching Sunday School and tending to the flower beds surrounding her home in Nebraska.

Maya and James are under the classic misunderstanding. I'm going to leave it at that. This is a tender love story.
