Sweetfern Harbor #9

The Elusive Wampum

Rate this book
Sweetfern Harbor Bed and Breakfast Cozy Mysteries can be read in one to two hours. It is perfect for those moments when you are waiting at an appointment or want to enjoy a quick read.

At Sweetfern, there are more than rare relics on display.

Before the arrival of the collectors at Brenda’s family establishment, The Sheffield Bed and Breakfast, she was ignorant to what a wampum is until a kindly collector shows one that will feature at the highly anticipated Native American Market.

However, the sight of a wampum triggers a memory in Brenda – she recalls her uncle Randolph Sheffield possessing one, a rare relic that could be in the dusty attic. Why would something so precious be left to gather dust?

Brenda and her housekeeper, Phyllis, decide to go hunting through the large attic for the ‘lost’ wampum. However, someone else is willing to tip the place upside down to get it first.

Some secrets can’t be kept in a safe box – but someone can be trapped in one.

Such a fun series. Really enjoy Ms. Meadows writings. Sweetfern is such a charming town and the individuals living there are so trusting and nice. Love the characters in this series, the B&B is a great spot to center all the stories. Really enjoy reading this series and cannot wait for the next book.

The town of Sweetfern Harbor is having a Native American Market with lots of rare antiquities and Sheffield B&B are hosting a number of guests in town for the event. Brenda soon finds out that her uncle was in possession of a wampum (rare purple in color) that has sparked the interest of some of the guests. While searching the attic, she finds that someone has gotten to the stone before she has and now she and Mac are on the case.

For the first time, Brenda and the B&B staff are not involved in solving a murder. Instead, her investigative talents are being used to hunt down a thief with very expensive tastes in antiquities. I like how she comes up with a plan to catch the thief and is in for a little surprise once they are caught. This is a wonderful cozy mystery with the right mix of mystery, adventure, and surprise twists.

Wow, great book!!!!

This series is great!!!! I can't wait to read the next book!!!!
Sweetfern Harbor is getting ready for the Native American Market Show that sells their artifacts. The annual Antiques Market Show is for the two and a half days (the weekend).
The Sheffield is going to be full with collectors.
Then Brenda finds out she has something in her attic her uncle has stored up there of great value that has captured her guests interest.
As the weekend moves along she finds out someone has been in the attic and the antique show has been robbed. Who could to be? Is it one of the guests?
Read this book to find out!!!!

This book was another wonderful mystery. The Native American Market has come to Sweetfern Harbor, along with new guest for Brenda's B&B. When it's made known that Brenda's Uncle had a rare wampum bead, everyone is interested. But the bead is not where she suspected.
Robbery is the headline in the book not murder. Brenda and Mac have to figure out which of their guest robbed The Market and them.
I loved this book. It's a perfect quick vacation read.
I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.

The latest book in the Sweetfern Harbor mystery series is another great read! I love this series. In this one Brenda hosts guest who are in town for a collector's show of American Indian artifacts, pictures and lots of other things. One night at dinner, Brenda mentioned that her uncle happened to have a rare purple wampum bead but as far as she knows it's in the attic and she's not seen it in years. She finds that the attic has been ransacked, along with two murders at the show. She and Mac investigate the strange happenings at the Inn as well as the murders.

The sting trap

Terrific read. An antiquities fair draws new guests to the B & B. Most are interested in Native American artifacts. As is she when she finds out that her uncle had a rare bead. However when it and other items at the fair are stolen things take a darker turn. Can they find out who? Would a trap work to capture the skilled thief? A neat little plot with a nice sting at the end. Great to return to the characters were have gotten to know so well.

Brenda and her bed and breakfast are in an uproar in this story in the series. Her uncle's wampum bead is very much in demand and someone is willing to go all out to make sure they get their hands on it. Brenda and her friends have to come up with a plan to figure out the culprit. This took me almost to the end of the story to figure out the guilty party. This makes it a good fun read. I received and ARC Audible code and this is my honest review.

Audiobook: I enjoyed book 9 of the "Sweetfern Harbor Mystery" series. Although I haven't read any of the other "Sweetfern Harbor Mysteries", I was able to follow the story and enjoy the characters. I liked the twists and turns that unfolded. I'm looking forward to more stories from this series. Kasey Logan's narration was great, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Another cozy mystery set in Sweetfern that was lighthearted and fun to read. This time is was about ancient artifacts and what could be up on the attic at the B&B. It read well, entertained me, and I enjoyed all the usual gang from town and the B&B working together to figure out what was going on and who the bad guys were.

Good story all the way around. Makes for an easy read. Now, to see what else she's written that I can read on Unlimited. Enjoy this book!!

What a great story

Thus was an intriguing story and ending. Even though it was a disappointing ending, I am certain the next saga will be just as intriguing. I love to read books that include the same persons throughout.

Too obvious

This was too easy to see everything covered. Not terrible, but also a weird item to focus the story on, all things considered.
