Veteran newsman, Seth Kantor, an eyewitness to the execution of Lee Harvey Oswald, spent four years finding answers to the numerous questions regarding Jack Ruby , and now throws new light into the JFK assassination.
I would rate this book as "OK" Jack Ruby was a thug and a punk but, we already knew that just from the historical accounts we've seen over the years about the Kennedy assassination and the subsequent killing of Lee Harvey Oswald. The book gives plenty of information on that. Lots of books have been written about Oswald but, this is an interesting account of the life of Jack Ruby. Although I probably protest too much since this book was written in 1978, only 15 years after the event, reading the book in 2014 I have 36 years of additional works and writings on the same subject. If you realize before you begin that this is not really a Kennedy/Oswald book but, surrounds the events of the assassination you'll enjoy the book.
Mr Kantor gives a fascinating look at this perplexing historical figure. I believe he gave a spurious twist to Ruby's comment about being used for a purpose, though. Ruby wasn't talking about being used to cover anything up but to make his entire race (he was Jewish) look bad. Ruby apparently had a bee in his bonnet about that.
