If Spring Comes captivates with heart-pounding attraction, spine-tingling suspense, and a breathtaking pursuit of justice and hope. The highly-anticipated third installment of The Girl Next Door series, this story was well worth the wait! If Spring Comes is packed with engaging tension and conflict and founded on authenticity, integrity, and faith. Sal and Candice both have pasts they’d rather forget but they press on… towards a terrifying target.

Brace yourselves for occasionally intense steamy yet chaste temptations and unpredictable, nail-biting suspense! While this story can stand on its own, I encourage you to pick up the first two installments of The Girl Next Door series as well! I highly recommend all three books for readers who embrace gritty, faith-filled fiction, danger, and spice!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

I really wanted to be able to rate this book higher, but I just couldn’t. The plot was good - the red herring totally got me, and certain elements caught me by surprise. But I struggled so much with the writing. Descriptions were so overdone - too many words that sometimes felt like they were trying way too hard and I had no idea what was being said. To much information withheld until the last 30 pages. Resolution of emotional conflict that to me felt somewhat rushed and glossed over. Despite wanting to finish the series, I found myself putting this book down quite often. That’s all. Just not a winner for me.

I really don’t know how Amy Leigh does it. How can she write stories with sizzling chemistry and equally chilling criminal mysteries?! I never can put her books down once I start them and If Spring Comes is no exception. I’ve also never yet been able to guess the villains either so deftly and subtly are the clues planted into the story. We have waited a long time for Sal and Candice story and boy, is it a doozy. These two have more emotional baggage than I would have ever guessed. But Sal. Or should I say Dorian is an amazingly patient, thoughtful, perceptive and compassionate hero in spite of it all. Where is my Dorian? Sigh... I devoured this book in one day and am only slightly regretting it after waiting so long for it. Now I’m going to go back and read it again slowly so I can savor it!

I have been not so patiently waiting for this book. It is now my favorite in a series I love. I have been hoping for Candice to give Sal a chance from the very beginning. Their romance evolution is my favorite romance in any novel yet. But the romance in this story pales in comparison to the hunt for a serial killer. Make sure you are well rested before starting this one. One, you won't want to stop reading it. And two, when you do…good luck sleeping!

From the opening scene to the last, Simpson thrills with twists and turns and roadblock. The romance sizzles, with layers that surprise and pull on tender heartstrings. A story of good and evil that's filled with redemption and heartache, the reader will be captivated until the very last drop is consumed. (I may have begged for and received an advanced early copy of this book from the author.)

Words fail me. I’ve been waiting for soooo long for Sals story and it didn’t disappoint. All the thrills, spills and electric romance that I’ve come to expect from this author. Loved every page and stayed up far too late finishing it! You don’t have to have read the others to enjoy this. But I can guarantee that once you’ve closed the final page, you’ll find yourself ordering the other two!

An excellent mystery with love.

This book kept me on my toes. I never figured out who done it. Yay! The sweet, stubborn love that took forever, yay! Any Leigh Simpson has become one of my favorite writers.

Romantic and Suspenseful

If Spring Comes is the third book in the series and was quite the page turner. I couldn't help but love the characters. The hero, Sal may have just knocked Archer off of my book boyfriend throne. He was not only handsome, funny, and adorable, but smart, heroic and oh so romantic. The heroine, was a spunky little sprite who had so many heart aches in her life that kept walls around her heart. Sal was determined to break down those walls.
The suspenseful storyline was about a serial killer who had been terrorising young women for ten years. The author did a great job because I didn't have a clue until the end who was rhe bad guy.
This book is a bit edgier and more passionate than what I normally read. However the author never went over the line and I appreciate that very much. With that said, I wouldn't recommend to younger readers. I did enjoy the book and I hope there will be more in the series.

If I could, I would give this book more than 5 stars. What do you get when you put a beautiful new Medical Examiner working to find a serial killer who has been murdering blonde women for the past 10 years, teamed up with a handsome FBI agent, add some disappearing evidence and a couple of undercover expeditions???? You get a fantastic read with lots of suspense, mystery, romance, twists and turns and all topped off with a surprise ending that I did not have figured out. This is the third book in this series but is also a standalone. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery/thriller/romance book.

I have been looking forward to this book for 2 years but it ended up being quite a disappointment. It was definitely my least favorite so far. The first third of the book seemed like it was trying Way too hard. Over the top characterizations were really annoying. I didn't like Candice or Sal for most of the book. I was also really bothered by all of the internal dialog which was distracting to the point of ruining, what would have been, some great scenes. In the end it was an entertaining read and I still love Ms. Simpson's book but one I probably wouldn't read again.

A sadistic serial killer is stalking St. Louis. Dr. Candice Stevens, lead medical examiner, along with FBI agent Dorian “Sal” Salivas are thrown together with this case.

I was immediately drawn into the story. The danger and suspense kept me turning the pages. Sal and Candi's relationship sizzles.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy page-turning, romantic suspense.

I borrowed a copy through the Kindle Unlimited program. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

This whole series was good. I had to buy this one after reading the previous two, even though it was above my price range where I normally buy books on my eReader.
That is how much I enjoyed this series. I totally had a different view of the main characters from the previous books and loved seeing them through different eyes in this one.

I could not put the book down until I finished it one day. Her characters are intriguing and complex. Her writing is never cookie cutter. Amy Leigh Simpson's writing gets better and better with each book. I can not wait to read the next book in the girl next door series.
