Ronald Aronson bravely and ambitiously created a book that refers to the insanity of our political world, ending in an attempt at hope. The focus was on Nazi German Holocaust, Stalin’s Bolshevik Party period in Russia, USA’s attack on Vietnam, and the Zionist takeover of Palestine. It is over 40 years ago since the book came out and it is therefore easy to be critical from the perspective of today. Little improved, sadly. Much got worse, sadly. The main issue – the deployment and intended use of nuclear weapons that will eradicate humanity from this earth has only worsened – considerably since that time. Hope? Even Aronson couldn’t really map the idea of hope for all is good wishes – yes, there is a hope inherent in us and yes, we need to come together as a we and move from contemplation to action, but alas it has not happened yet. Instead we seem stuck in mere squabbling while the threat of total extinction is largely ignored.

Outdated, even for its time, but still useful and very well-written. :-)
