Some great ideas, but also some conflicting ideas. “The children in the minimalistic environment outperformed the children who were in the environment that was heavy on the environmental print and stimuli” (p. 5). Then on page 35, guidance on how to provide a visually stimulating environment because the “flood of visuals consumed by students (outside of the classroom) makes the realities of many of our classrooms, which are devoid of color, design, and visual stimulation, an unpalatable contrast.”

This was a good read, I love the ideas and hope to use some of them in my classroom. It was a very positive book.
