Heroine Aileen McKenna goes to Wolf Creek, Wisconsin, to study wolves and to write her thesis (she is interested in wildlife ecology). She is also there to spend some time with her family for Christmas. Aileen meets hero Rhys Lindgren and she feels like she has a connection with him. Rhys keeps to himself, and is known as a wolf man because of his love for wolves. He lives in a cabin in the woods with his father. There have been some murders/deaths recently and many people are blaming the wolves. Who, or what could be behind the killings?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I really liked the setting... the woods, the wolves, the small town with its interesting cast of characters. The story took place around Christmas, which was nice to read at this time of year. I liked Aileen, she was a good heroine. She had something in her past that she couldn't remember, but being in Wolf Creek started to bring the memories back. Rhys was a mysterious hero. Aileen and Rhys made a great couple.

A very compelling, fast-paced romantic suspense by Patricia Rosemoor.

(This is the first book I've read in the "McKenna Legacy" series and it can be read as a stand-alone book.)

Aileen McKenna is fascinated by wolves but for some reason wary of them (that's because of something that happened in her childhood that she can't remember). When she decides to finish off her grad school research into whether wolves and humans can live together in the modern world, she heads off to the woods where her brother Donovan lives. There, she encounters Rhys Lindgren, son of the local hermit and a bit of a hermit himself. He has an in with the local wolf pack and offers to show Aileen. The two have an automatic connection, as though they somehow know each other. Could he have something to do with Aileen's forgotten childhood event? When people start dying out in the woods, seemingly by an animal attack, the locals suspect the wolf pack and tensions heighten. But Rhys and Aileen know it isn't the wolves...it's something else. But what could possibly cause that much damage? Aileen knows that Rhys is hiding something but she is certain he's the only one she can trust.

Ooh. This author took this from the "psychic" paranormal area straight into the "werewolf" arena. This just got straight up paranormal. I absolutely loved the twist regarding Rhys's origins and how it ties to Aileen's childhood event. That's an interesting concept... The suspense part of this is what really drove the story. There's plenty of suspects, negative interactions and tense moments with lots of locals and other characters. And plenty of people dying. The romance part of this story though was kind of lackluster. Aileen and Rhys have a bit of a connection, but their chemistry and passion is just at a simmer. And the love scenes are about a paragraph long and leave much to be desired for this reader. I really did enjoy the read, but this just wasn't as good as some of the earlier books where the passion is just cracking between the characters. Loving this series still..

The seventh book in the McKenna Legacy series is one intriguing read. It is full of anticipation building suspense that keeps readers glued to the pages and on the edge of their seat. The story takes place at a steady pace that ensures that readers are never bored and one that along with the wonderfully intriguing setting keeps readers aware that danger could strike at any moment. Aileen and Rhys are strong, compelling characters that easily draw readers to them and ensures that they want to know everything about their story. Their romance is sweet but full of anticipation as well while they each try to unravel secrets while they are facing an unknown danger as well. The town itself like I said is intriguing which adds to the suspense and adds a kind of mystifying fell to the story.

Patricia Rosemoor has a gift for making her stories seem intense and holding her readers hostage with hair raising suspense that sends delightful tingles of anticipation down the spine. This is the first book I have read of the McKenna Legacy but since the stories could be read as standalone that was no problem and the story certainly aroused my curiosity about the other McKenna and their stories so I will be reading them soon.

Aileen McKenna has a past she can't remember. Working on her thesis of how mankind and wolf can co-exist, she takes a trip to Wolf Creek hoping to get a chance to study the wolf packs up close and personal. What she didn't count on was meeting Rhys Lindgren, the tall, dark, secretive stranger in the woods. They seem to have an invisible, but emotional connection that stuns them both.

Several bodies keep turning up dead, and the townsfolk are scared. They believe its the work of the wolves. Aileen and Rhys work together trying to uncover the mystery, as they firmly believe that the wolves wouldn't hurt anyone unless coerced. Rhys seems to have a magical infinity with the wolves, and there is just something so familiar and right when he is with them. Aileen is not ready to believe what she thinks is happening. Werewolves do not exist. But if they do, could they be the murderer? The local gypsy lady believes she can help Aileen if and when she is ready to believe.

Aileen has a legacy left to her from her grandmother. She dreams of the future, and sometimes the past. But some of her past is missing. After she meets Rhys, they become closer and the dreams become more vivid and clear, showing her glimpses of her missing past. The pieces begin to fit together as they come closer to unraveling the mystery of whom the killer is and revealing one another's secrets.

This book surprised me. I was intrigued from page one. The characters were compelling, and the plot was well-twisted.

The McKenna legacy was left to the family by their grandmother. Everyone has a gift. Aileen’s gift is her dreams of the future and of the past, but some of her past is missing. She takes a trip to Wolf Creek, hoping to discover a memory from her past and her reasons she is compelled to study wolf packs up close and personal. When she runs into Rhys Lingren in the woods, she’s taken aback by the instant connection she has with him.
Rhys is equally floored, sensing he knows Aileen. He recognizes her, knows her somehow. He wants to protect her, but there is a greater problem in Wolf Creek. People of Wolf Creek are turning up dead and the town thinks its wolves. If he doesn’t put a stop to the mass hysteria, there’ll be wolf hunt he won’t be able to stop.
Rhys and Aileen work together to solve the mystery of who or what killed the people of Wolf Creek. Aileen realizes there is something supernatural about the killings and Rhys is somehow involved. His closeness with the wolves makes her believe he is one of them. The longer she works with Rhys the closer they become and her dreams more vivid revealing why she and Rhys are connected.
From the first page you will be drawn into Ms. Rosemore’s world. There’s romantic suspense with twist and turns as the plot exposes the truth. I look forward to reading more of the McKenna Legacy books.

Aileen has come to Wolf Creek to study wolves in the wild as part of her thesis. Once there, she learns that a man was killed, and the locals believe it was a wolf that did it. Aileen thinks otherwise, and she enlists the aid of handsome, aloof Rhys Lindgren to take her into the wilderness to observe wolves in the wild. Aileen can't help but be nervous around Rhys. She feels an odd connection to him that she can't shake, and being in Wolf Creek has caused long-buried memories from a traumatic childhood incident to surface. When another man is killed, Aileen is determined to prove it wasn't due to a marauding timberwolf. However, when she begins to hear whispers of werewolf, she can't help but wonder just what is really going on in Wolf Creek.

The premise was interesting. The action took place over the course of about a week, which always makes the inevitable 'true love' a bit incredible, but whatever. What bothered me the most were the number of killings. I mean, we can't just have a murder or two? It has to be about half a dozen people by the time it's all said and done? The culprit was easy enough to guess, but I never did figure out (SPOILER!) if Rhys was a man who changed into a wolf, or if he'd been born a wolf and could change into a man. The author was rather vague about that. And, as long as I'm on a 'WTF?' kick, I did not appreciate the fact that, at their first meeting, Rhys stepped on Aileen's ski to literally pin her in place while he intimidated her into telling him why she was nosing around the scene of one of the recent deaths. Note to author: bullying behavior in men is not sexy!

Aileen was a three-dimensional character, but I didn't get as much insight into Rhys' character. The plot moved at a frantic pace, but it was a short book so that's understandable.

Wolf Moon (The McKenna Legacy Book 7) by Patricia Rosemoor

I hadn’t read the earlier books in this series before I read this book, and I don’t believe the story lost anything due to this lack of pre-knowledge. The story-line was fast paced and with the characters being so well drawn, I quickly went from page to page, ending the book only to look online for others in the series. Well done to Ms Rosemoor, for creating such a great cast and twisting them into an intriguing and absorbing story. I will definitely be reading more of Ms Rosemoor’s work.

I enjoyed this. It's certainly far more than a romance. Although I guessed at some of the truths that were later revealed, it was still intriguing and entertaining.
I appreciated the positive way wolves are portrayed, having studied biology in the past. The paranormal romance aspect was handled well, too, and the characters are interesting.
I haven't read the other books in this series but found this to work nicely as a standalone.
I received my copy through NetGalley. My review is my honest opinion.

This werewolf murder mystery was intriguing and interesting. Very unlike other books in the shifter genre. The connection between Rhys and Aileen was forged in a set of events that both find difficult to understand. When people start dying in Wolf Creek and the local psychic offers her protection from werewolves, Aileen knows it's time to hone her gift of the McKenna legacy

As it was part of a collection I thought I would give it a go.
It was an interesting concept with well thought out characters. I would have liked it answered whether the sheriff was a shifter or not. Other than that it flowed well.
Worth a read. I would not continue the series right now but would potentially do so in the future.

An absorbing mystery, this book is full of intrigue and secrets. Although it’s part of series, I don’t feel that I have missed out by starting with this one. Not my usual sort of book, but still very enjoyable.

Wolf Moon

Aileen McKenna comes back to Wolf Creek after 22 years for a family reunion and to finish her thesis: “Can Wolf and Man coexist in the modern world”. Her memory is hazy about why she cannot remember that time.
Why does she feel she knows Rhys who has a connection to the local wolf pack?
She is staying at Grey Wolf Lodge where she meets owner Valerie Glenister and handyman Fisk both of whom make her feel uneasy.
You will like the pace of the story as the mystery unfolds and more bodies are found. Are they killer wolves on the loose?
This is book 7 in the McKenna family legacy and it is well worth trying some of the others.
I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For the sake of being honest, I really couldn’t get into this book at first. It doesn’t have a very strong beginning and I had to push through the first few chapters in order to become engrossed in the story. That being said, once I got through the first stretch, I was happy I kept reading because the book (after chapter three or so) is great. Keep in mind that this is book 7 of a series (so the title says), so maybe if I’d read books 1-6, the beginning of book 7 wouldn’t have felt as though it was dragging.

The story has everything a wolfy romance should. The mystery is mysterious, the suspense is suspenseful, and the pages almost turn themselves. The only thing that really bothered me is that I didn’t find anything in the story that would make me really want to stand in line for book 8 (if there is one). I’ll still read more by Patricia Rosemoor, but I really feel like I should see how many books are ahead in the series before I read out of order again.

I really wish I could have loved this book, I just really didn’t. It entertained, but with no pizazz. I’m actually really bummed about it. I’m still giving the book three stars because I feel like it does deserve that many for entertainment value alone.

I really enjoyed this book. It is the 7th book in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone (although after i have read it i don't know why you would only read this one!) I will be getting the previous books just because this one was so good and I want to know what happened before. The author weaves the story so well you get wrapped up in it and don't want to put the book down. You anticipate something happening at every corner. You have a sweet romance with suspense, intrigue and danger.

I haven’t read any of the other books in the McKenna series but didn’t find that hindered my following the characters or plotting in this book. Overall, I enjoyed the book quite a bit but found the plot a little disappointing. The “bad guy “ was signaled too soon. I did enjoy the building of the romance and found the main characters interesting. I will look for other books by this author.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

First I need to start out by saying this is the first book I read in the series and this can be read as a standalone . I found the story line fast paced and intriguing and characters well written. In fact this book was so well written I plan on going back and start reading the other books in this series. Please read this book if you love drama, a touch of paranormal, romance and suspense.
