Nightmare #3

Nightmare Revelation

Rate this book
Deadly secrets lurk within the dark tunnels of the London Underground…

The nightmare of Machen continues to cast a deep shadow of gloom as dreadful stories of murder and mayhem make their way into London. But death comes knocking when a thick fog crawls through the night and shape-shifting killers scour the city. No one is safe, and the smell of fear lingers in the air.

Ted Gould and Doctor Zoffany of the Romola Foundation are all too aware of the dangers, and their sights are set on the metropolis. With the help of former television presenter Denny Purcell, they slowly discover the ghastly dimension housing the powerful creatures.

New alliances are formed, and Denny’s natural talents are put to the test yet again. As the monsters leave a trail of horror in their wake, the thin veil keeping them at bay is quickly disappearing. With each discovery more horrific than the last, the Romola Foundation has their hands full.

It won’t be long before the monsters conquer their world and transform it into a bloody version of their own.

One nightmare at a time.

Another 5 star read! And to think that if this novel had of been billed as a sci-fi I probably wouldn't have given it a chance - but maaaan, this is a perfect example of how good a marriage of scares and that which is alien to us is!

I've basically given the 5 stars for the 3 book story arc and the finale which fairly romped home with a gob smacking conclusion. But there is a waaah factor - this isn't the end!! I don't mind a 3 book purchase for a damn good story, but it crackles my snap more than a bit that there is at least another 3 more books expanding the story.

Even given that, I have found myself breaking my promise of no new Kindle books (until I clear my current ones out) along with parting with the most amount of cash I have EVER paid for digital books to secure the next 3 books simply because I MUST find out what happens next!

Why do I feel like this? How can I suddenly stop loving my own children? What kind of God-awful mother am I?

The Interlopers are becoming braver in there entrances to Earth as they're trying to escape their dying world for something still sustainable. Working closely with the Ramola Foundation for the Paranormal, Denny and Frankie are getting closer to discovering how many of these portals to the Phantom Dimension exist, while Gould is still hanging onto hope his little sister Lucy could still be alive there. Determined to enter the dimension again, they were unaware on the new portals opening up on the subway, luring people into the tunnels with coaxing voices of their loved ones. Using whatever they can to convince people, the Interlopers are building their way onto Earth beneath everyone's noses. Taking control and killing the real leader of the foundation, Sir Lionel Benson, they now have a way to call the shots and avoid detection. The Interlopers are trying to force a transition into this world, as the one they know is slowly crumbling to ashes. As Soul Eaters and Black Stars are forcing their way through, countless countries are reporting the bizarre phenomenon. Unable to survive here, many begin decaying and falling apart within minutes, while others manage hours before needing to return home.

So this is what it feels like... To live in fear.

Upon re-entering the Phantom Dimension, Denny and Frankie want to showcase the nightmares hidden from the public eye once and for all. Recording the la escape, the monsters, the Queenz they know this'll break out the shock value to get people to take action finally. Discovering the Queen was enough to disgust and shock everybody, but even worse when she was trying to use Telepathy to force a union between the two universes. Fighting her off with the use of the Pendant, they would manage to escape and crumble the last portal into the dimension, but not without a sinking set of doubt that this is all far from over.

There ... Are ... Worst ... Things ... Then ... Us ...

This is the third and final book in the Nightmare series. In this book, the interlopers have broken through in London and are trying to take over, except that the Romola Foundation is pulling out all the stops to prevent it. The only way to do that is for them to re-enter the netherworld and finish the interlopers once and for all. I won't spoil it by providing details, so let's just say that things get better later.
The only thing keeping me from giving this book five stars is that I felt the ending was a bit abrupt. I could see the potential for more meat in it but there is a bit of a surprise ending, so it was somewhat redeemed.
Overall, this is an excellent series and well worth the time.

This is book number 3 but can be a stand alone. This book continues and keeps you on the edge of your seat. You have the plight continuing, The Face Snatchers. The face snatchers are looking for a way to be freed. The characters are even scarier now. This book is so gripping you won't want to put it down. The interlopers have now gotten into London and are trying to take over. You have Denny and the foundation trying to stop the takeover, but to do it they need to reenter the Nether World to finish the interlopers. If you like scary books this one is for you. You have to read this book to see how it ends. I recommend this series.

Very addictive

This author knows how to grab your attention and keep it. His books are addictive and it's hard to put them down once you pick them up.
The only complaint I have with Kindle Unlimited is how long your reviews must be before it allows them to be submitted. This is why I don't leave reviews that often. About the only reason for a reader like me to leave reviews is that it helps me keep track of what I have and haven't read.

Unfortunately I feel like this series is getting a little worse and actually turning more into a science fiction with aliens, rather than horror. Both genres are completely different so to start off as a horror and into a science fiction can be kind of a let down to some.

I still enjoyed the book and getting to the end of this part but it looks like there are a couple more books and I don't think I will read them. I am happy with the 3 that I read and moving onto something else.

The interlopers are determined to take over the world as we know it, but there are a few that are willing to stand up to them. Will they have what it takes to keep them from coming through? And what did they mean when they said "there are worse things than us?"

Good read. Curious to see where the next few books go.

Pretty good, honestly you could leave it here or continue. I almost cried at one point right near the end. I don't really have a ton to say, I enjoyed it but it didn't blow me away. 3.5/5 ⭐️ rounded up to 4/5 for goodreads

This series keeps you wanting more. There are so many questions: how is this whole series going to end?, what will happen next?, who will survive it all? Can’t wait to read the next one.
