Archaeology, politics, espionage, and war collide in three high-octane sexy political thrillers.
Evidence Series Box Set Volume 2 contains three full-length (300+ page) novels.
Incriminating Evidence From enemies to allies…
When archaeologist Isabel Dawson stumbles upon an unconscious man deep in the Alaskan wilderness, her survival skills are put to the test. She tends his wounds and drags him to shelter, only to discover she’s saved the life of Raptor CEO Alec Ravissant—the man who may have covered up her brother’s murder to save his senatorial campaign.
With no memory of the assault that landed him five miles deep in the forest, Alec doesn’t know what to believe when he wakes in the clutches of the beautiful redhead who blames him for her brother’s death, but he quickly realizes he needs her help to uncover the truth about his lost hours.
Isabel never imagined she’d find herself allied with Alec, and he’s the last man she ever expected to find attractive. But the former Army Ranger-turned-politician proves seductively charming, and he’s determined to win much more than her vote. When their quest for answers puts Isabel in the crosshairs, Alec must risk everything—his company, his campaign, and his life—to protect her.
Covert Evidence Falling in love was never part of his mission…
With visions of professional glory, underwater archaeologist Cressida Porter embarks on a research trip deep into the heart of Eastern Turkey. Her dreams turn into nightmares when she becomes the unwitting courier for a terrorist network. Stranded and unable to speak the language, she turns to a handsome and enigmatic security specialist for help, even while fearing he may be behind a violent assault that leaves her vulnerable.
CIA Case Officer Ian Boyd’s mission is clear: follow the courier, identify the terrorist leader, and intercept the microchip before it falls into enemy hands. For Ian, cozying up to the alluring archaeologist to find out where her loyalties lie isn’t exactly hardship duty. But spending time with her proves dangerous when she awakens a longing for a life he can never have.
Attraction wars with distrust as Cressida and Ian are forced on the run. When violence erupts in the already unstable region, Cressida discovers everything she knows about Ian is false. With all secrets revealed, Cressida must decide if she can trust the spy with her life, while Ian faces his own impossible choice: Cressida or his mission.
Cold Evidence The frigid waters of the Pacific Northwest are about to get hot…
The only thing Navy underwater archaeologist Undine Gray fears more than facing former SEAL Luke Sevick is never scuba diving again. But when a dive on a Cold War-era US Navy submarine ends with an accidental explosion, she’s terrified of going into the deep, forcing her to beg the most experienced diver she knows to take her back to the bottom of the cold Salish Sea.
Luke wants nothing to do with the woman who destroyed his career a dozen years ago but finds it impossible to turn his back on her plea. Caught off guard by an attraction he doesn’t want to feel, he’s eager to be done with this mission of mercy. But when they dive on the wreck, he only gets sucked in deeper. Someone has been digging on the Navy sub…and it appears the explosion that almost killed Undine was no accident.
To find the truth, Undine must navigate murky waters and the unexpectedly hot undercurrents swirling between her and Luke. Worse, divers are searching for something lost in US waters during the Cold War, and they’ll do anything to keep Luke and Undine from finding it first.
USA Today bestselling author Rachel Grant also writes thrillers as R.S. Grant. She worked for over a decade as a professional archaeologist and mines her experiences for storylines and settings, which are as diverse as excavating a cemetery underneath an historic art museum in San Francisco, survey and excavation of many prehistoric Native American sites in the Pacific Northwest, researching an historic concrete house in Virginia (inspiration for her debut novel, CONCRETE EVIDENCE), and mapping a seventeenth century Spanish and Dutch fort on the island of Sint Maarten in the Caribbean (which provided inspiration for the island and fort described in CRASH SITE).
She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her archaeologist husband and demanding cat.
3.5 stars Strong, engaging stories with a little too much technical detail. I do enjoy this series and love that the settings and careers are atypical for romantic suspense. I'm going to start book 7 now.
I loved the action and suspense in all of these stories, and especially the characters!! Great plots all around, but was a little disappointed with Incriminating Evidence, actually the reason I bought this box set. Something about the jump into romance and sex from the outright suspicion on both parties felt contrived. Isabel suspects Alec for cover up of her brother’s MURDER, how do you get past that so soon? But the rest of the plot and setting was good (I LOVE Alaska) and both Covert Evidence and Cold Evidence blew away my expectations.
Cold Evidence was the winner if I had to pick. Loved, loved, loved the diving and the betrayal history that Luke had to get past. Not to mention the moving letter from Lt. Wright, was in tears for that and all the sacrifices made by our valiant servicemen in all branches. The uncovered cold-war era mystery in this plot gripped me by the throat.
I did like the character intrigue in Covert Evidence. Everytime I thought I had someone’s motivation nailed down the author ripped the rug out from under me. Very exciting read overall.
There is so much that I love about Rachel Grant’s books. The characters always have cool jobs and live lives of adventure. I love reading about all the cool jobs. The relationships are fun and hot.
Buuuuuuuuttttt...for the love of all that is holy, find some new storylines!!! In every. Single. Damn. Book. The female protagonist gets kidnapped. Every one. Doesn’t she get tired of it? Cause I am.
I do still love a lot about these books, but I need to leave 3 to 4 months between reading new books because otherwise I get annoyed.
Strong women and the hunks who adore them! Although the characters intersect, so you get to see your old friends again, the stories could not be more different. Loved this box set. And since I haven’t read the first 3 in the series yet, now I get to go back and catch them! Yay!
What a great buy. I had read one of the books in this set and liked the book so well it was worth it to buy it again in the set and read it again with the other two. Heroes and heroines, spies, romance, suspense, and action. Each book is related but different and can be read alone. Read their blurbs. They are definitely great reads.
This was a page turning experience. Difficult to put down. Very well written. I enjoyed the Series. I enjoyed the interaction between all the characters.
I like this author because she is clearly educated and articulate and her stories are engaging without being over complicated or too gruesome. The heroes are manly and the heroines have brains.
