The Resistance finally finds Lor San Tekka. Unfortunately, he's just been arrested. Looks like it's time for a old fashioned heist plan to get him out. The story is fun, Leia actually gets something to do besides ordered Black Squadron on missions. The art is decent, but the coloring, especially skin colors, looks off and too computerized.

One thing I really liked in this was that Soule talks about how small the Resistance is. It's only a few hundred people which is something that didn't come across in the last 2 films. Neither did the fact that the New Republic still exists at this point. This alleviates a lot of the problems I had with Episode 8. Lucasfilm has done a terrible job of filling in that 30 year gap. Up to now, I thought the First Order had taken over just like the Empire had and I've read a lot of the extended universe stuff in addition to the films. For as tightly as Disney is holding the reins on all the EU books and comics, they don't seem to know more than the fans do about the larger workings of the Star Wars universe. I think that's my biggest problem with this new canon. Lucasfilm doesn't seem to want to create any new history in case one of the filmmakers wants to do something different that will contradict it. What is now Legends was a much more cohesive extended universe.

Muchas cosas interesantes pasaron y varias sorpresas.

“My name… is Lor San Tekka. I am an explorer. A searcher. An archeologist of the greatest mystery of the universe – the force that binds us all. I have lived a long time, and I have learned much. I always thought I would have an opportunity to set my conclusions down somewhere. A lifetime of study, distilled. Others could learn from such a work… perhaps use it to solve their own mysteries. But unless I am mistaken, there will be no great scholarly record from me. Just this meager testament, spoken into a spacesuit data recorder as I drift, alone in the immensity of the cosmos. Against it, I am nothing. But yet… I am, still. I am Lor San Tekka, these are my last words.”

Things are finally coming to a head here people.

We get Lor San Tekka into the story and we also get a lot more of our awesome space princess, Leia Organa.

So, yes, I had a lot of fun reading this. What we how much of a mess was Black Squadron this time around.

“Among my people, we believe in honoring our history. What we were is what we are.”

Leia's little arc was but a fun tidbit and a heart-breaking experience.

Coming with an elaborate plan to help Lor get out of a bit of trouble -a la Solo - she embarks into the mission herself to assure its success... but, of course, things are never so simple.

While she deals with this little adventure we also get to dive a little into her feelings towards some personal experiences. I was not expecting that and I was reeling by the time that ended.

Of course, most of the outcome of that particular part of the story is pretty clear since, after all, we do have The Force Awakens as a guideline and there is just so much they can add here.

“A you know, I have dedicated my life to gathering knowledge about the force. Both sides, light and dark. So many lives have been lost in their battle over the millennia – but I think someday this fight could end. If they could work together, see that in many ways they are the same…”

We then have that last issue... that was fun!

I loved the back and forth with past and present interactions and just how it develops.

It's really short but Poe centric and I think it was my favorite part of the volume... even over that Leia scene.

“It all seems so enormous, no? Immense, unending. But it’s not. The trick is not to think about the void. Think about the lights.”
________________

I really liked that last issue.

With a slow start, this series is rapidly becoming a really good one and I can't wait to see what awaits me this time around.

Of course, just seeing my beloved Black Squadron is gonna feel like a treat and be enough.

And Terex! We can't forget Terex.

Kind of a bland entry in what had been growing into a decent Star Wars series. For me, this volume has too much Black Squadron pilots soap opera. It's nice to learn a little bit more about Lor San Tekka (though that would have been great to learn in the movie where he first appears, not three years later in a graphic novel . . . ), but what happens once the Resistance finds him is anticlimactic.

The big question is: What's the deal with Leia's dress?? :(

This started off well with lots of Resistance Base shenanigans and heist plans and then it just got lame. Maybe I just hate Terex beyond all reason? Also the art makes me want to gouge out my eyes.

So far nejlepší volume téhle série až mě to překvapilo.

This volume really does a beautiful job of showing the humanity of these characters fighting in the Rebellion and actually also the humanity in certain droids in the Rebellion. Truly the character development through this series is what has made this shine so well through this point. I really enjoyed the action and the big heist in this one, as well!

Back for another review! This time, it will be for the fourth volume of the Poe Dameron comic, legend found!

Charles Soule's Poe Dameron run didn't start off all that great, but I really enjoyed the third volume, "Legend Lost". This followup was solid, but not nearly as good as volume 3.

THE STORY: Leia has finally found the location of Lor San Tekka. She sends Black Squadron to recover him so he can help her in the quest to find Luke Skywalker.

THE BAD: the only sigbificant problem in this is Poe- hes just kind of bland here. The characterization is consistent with the films but there isn't anything else beyond that in this arc.
I also wasnt that into Jess Pava's story. I commend the attempt by Soule to give her some more depth, but I just didn't find her arc engaging.

THE GOOD: the more I think on it, the more I like.
The story is fun and takes some twists and turns that I didnt expect.
The villains were entertaining. I love what is done with Terrex and the other villain is enjoyably over the top.
Lot San Tekka was interesting too. I liked hearing about his philosophy in the force.
The worldbuilding was really interesting. The artifact that San Tekka finds is quite cool, and I like all the bits on cato nemoidia that connect to the prequel era.
Finally, the artwork is amazing. The colors, the textures, the backgrounds, the characters, and the action all look immaculate.

THE CONCLUSION: final rating is 3.5 stars. I enjoyed it, but it wasnt as good as "Legend Lost".
Its nice to see the storyline set up in the very first issues finally resolve, but this happened fairly late. In all honesty, the first volume probably shouldn't have set up the search for San Tekka at all, and instead should have just started it here. But for what we got, I was satisfied, and those that have kept up with the series should be too.

The collected Marvel edition contains issues #20-25 and Annual #1 for "Poe Dameron," or "Poe Dameron: Legend Found" Parts I-VI, respectively. With this collection, a few different story-lines are all going on at the same time. Remember Terex? He's struggling to fight against Phasma and her control over his mind. This volume gives the reader quite a bit of Leia action, which is nice. She aims to smuggle a prisoner from D'Qar using an arsenal of pretty dresses as a guise. Poe is meant to help bring the prisoner in, but he disobeys Leia's orders and finds himself in a pretty tough position. But the Resistance needs the only man who might know something of Luke's whereabouts! "Annual #1" is pretty interesting. It involves a mission gone wrong with Poe in space and his struggle for survival, but it brings him to learn some very important information for the Resistance. A nice lead-up to the events of "Legend Found."

As usual, the art is really nice, and I greatly appreciated Leia's involvement in this arc. The Terex plot is interesting as well, as we  yearn to see if he can free himself from the First Order's grasp, and what he might do if he does get free. Overall, a nice installment to the series, better than the previous volume.

Cool arc, set shortly before Episode 7. Black Squadron is trying to recover Lor San Tekka before the First Order can.

Terex is a great spoiler and interesting un-aligned character here. Hope they do more with him.

You know what I'm chucking in an extra star for all that Leia content and PADMÉ GETTING NAME DROPPED SEVERAL TIMES. Also I just love that they've been very true to Carrie's appearance and put her in a lovely gown without trying to slim her down or anything?? Idk I just love seeing gals of all shapes and sizes in comics.

I posted my review in the wrong edition :(
Anyway, this one is a bit of a let down (especially Leia's fugly dress) but I am quite satisfied with the character moments of the Black Squadron crews.

On the slower-paced end (or that could just be how I read it), the end of Poe Dameron's pre-trilogy adventures come to an end with a heist calling back to the prequels and a beautiful thematic set-up for the sequels.

Apparently this was supposed to be the end of the series before its popularity warranted one last arc. If this were the ending, I would say it resolved just about everything, although I still wish I knew more about who the rest of Black Squadron are. Jess "The Great Destroyer (of astromechs)" feels particularly short-changed. However, as a prequel series to Episode VII and an examination of Poe, Leia (I can't get enough of her), and the Resistance, it's been a winning, wonderful series. The First Order villains are delightfully intense and singular, too, and BB-8 and the droids got great moments as well.

If The Rise of Skywalker let you down, go back to canon's simpler days and take a chance on this series. Some volumes are better than others, but it's worth it by the end. Well, almost - there's still one more to go, after all.

The Poe Dameron series is one of the highlights of the new canon comic series. In this series we get a deeper look into The Resistance and the personal lives of Poe and his squadron. This series has great ties to The Force Awakens and so much sweetness between Poe and BB-8 and lots of tugs at your heartstrings with a wonderful supporting cast. Some of the funniest moments with droids I've seen have been from this series.

I miss Soule writing Poe but if you are reading the current Arc of Star Wars you know he is giving us some excellent Bay/Dameron content.

Wow, this was useless... the artwork was terrible. The characters looked different throughout the book and from the previous volumes. Leia looked horrible. The story arc has not been good at all, which is no different from the movies 7-9 anyways. They were the worst.

Hey, you know what I found out? This wasn't the end. Lor San Tekka has kind of been the focal point of the series and the most valuable target for the Resistance and the First Order, and that this will be the conclusion. But hey, that means more of this comic, which I quite enjoy reading at work! Poe is great as always, but I liked most of the Leia stuff. So fun to see her do work in the field again, I wish we could´ve had that in the sequels. The prequel references are also pretty cool and the exploration of Lor San Tekka is very interesting, but he is kind of an old pussy that only says that the bad guys can´t do what they are doing. You think that is gonna stop them? Are you stupid? I was hoping that Terex would take him to Jakku, but that didn´t really happen. I still will keep my hopes for that, as that would be a satisfying end to both of the characters (as Lor San Tekka is murdered by Kylo Ren at Jakku in the Force Awakens)

I'm not entirely sure why this has such a low rating compared to the others? The artwork, obviously, has taken a dive in quality since Noto left, but I really enjoyed the heist story! Seeing Leia in a more active role, and talking about her mother (!!!!) was great, and her interactions with Poe continue to be delightful - especially in the annual. Also BB8 and Poe are truly BFFS for life, they have matching tshirts and everything.

The quest for Lor San Tekka continues... and though we know the quest ultimately ends with the passing of knowledge (about Luke's whereabouts) on Tatooine in SW7:TFA, the connection of how he originally connects with Leia is discovered here.
Tekka has been captured on Cato Nemoidia trying to look at a piece of history being kept in one of the secured vaults there. Leia sends Black Squadron in to rescue, but with a very specific and deceptive plan: She, as a Princess and respected diplomat, takes her mother's (Padme Amidala) dress collection to store in one of their famous vaults. Black Squadron causes a disturbance, which sends Leia into a fake doubting mode, which causes a competitor to sweep in and give Leia a deal. She knew this would happen, playing off of the Nemoidian sensibilities, and that causes her cases to get quick enough into the new vaults that they were never scanned. Inside one of the dress cases? Poe, who uses his in to sneak into Tekka's cell and free him.
First Order Commander Malarus and Agent Terex make their appearance when they steal Leia's ship and Poe's X-Wing. Malarus gets killed in the space battle (destroying Poe's fighter, but not before an incredible rescue of BB-8), but Terex is able to take Tekka with him. Terex takes Tekka to Phasma, as a way for him to have his controlling implants removed. After they are, he betrays the First Order again, giving both them and the Resistance the coordinates to where Tekka is. Saving him, Tekka meets with Leia and promises that he will find knowledge of Luke's whereabouts soon.
Another wonderful glimpse into the pre-Force Awakens Star Wars universe.
Recommend.

This volume focuses on attempts to save Lor San Tekka, with Poe and the Black Squadron going through a couple of travails on their way. There's a decent heist attempt that goes awry, and Terex gets some moments as he tries to undermine the First Order programming. Leia also gets a fair bit of screen time. There's not as much space action, although what is present is pretty good, just a bit standard. Lor San Tekka offers up some interesting ideas but they don't get explored here. And then there's the inclusion of an annual, which is a little odd because it takes place out of chronology with the rest of the book, but does a very good job of displaying the relationship between Leia and Poe. The art throughout is strong. It's not as strong as the previous volumes but it's still a good read.

A satisfying return to form after the somewhat lackluster previous volume. Here we find Black Squadron undertaking a compact adventure with intriguing roots in the larger Star Wars universe. Specifically, they need to rescue Lor San Tekka (the old man from the beginning of the Force Awakens) and end up recruiting the help of Leia in the prison break. It's a welcome change to see Her Highness getting her hands dirty again. Terex continues to have a large role here, something that seems to have irked other reviewers. I'm fine with him! He makes a good foil for Poe, and it's an interesting development for him to cut ties with the First Order. The cliffhanger ending, though, is quite rude.

I'm really bummed...because the Poe Dameron comics aren't bad at all! They're fun and well written...I just can't get into them. This one had a lot of cool stuff cause it showed Leia as more than just a background character and really focused on her grooming Poe to be her successor...subtlety of course! This was the mission to find Lor San Tekka, the old man at the beginning of Force Awakens. I wasn't a fan of the artwork in this one, the one that looks like some fancy Snapchat filter...but it really wasn't a bad book.

Another great addition to one of the best Star Wars comic lines in continuation. These adventures add context to the search for Lor San Tekka and highlight further the relationship he has with Leia. I look forward to the next volume!

Stressful!

Stakes are high but the ending is sweet (though sad in the context of Rise of Skywalker). Can’t wait to finish the series.
