Willow can’t remember what it’s like to be free. She spends her days working under the watchful gaze of her alien captor and dreams of returning to Earth. She tries to keep hope alive, but part of her knows the likelihood of rescue fades with each passing day.

Respectability is everything to Raydn. The battle-hardened alien only cares about the mission at hand, the men under his command, and the rules that keep them all safe in an unpredictable world. Until his latest assignment leads him to a fragile Earth woman held captive on a distant planet. He falls for her, hard, and he’s determined to win her over.

Willow isn’t so sure. She cares for Raydn, but she’s struggling with the after-effects of captivity and can't see a future for herself in his world.

Will he be able to convince Willow that her home is by his side?

Raydn is the second book in the Force Series, featuring hunky intergalactic police officers and the Earth women they love. It's a stand-alone novel with no cliffhangers and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Okay, so these books move pretty quickly. As in, it doesn't take long before our intergalactic defenders realize the lady they're looking after is someone they have feelings for. Special feelings. Naked feelings. On the lady's end, having someone actually care about their well-being goes a long way toward smoothing over any issues that might arise from their time in captivity.

Raydn and Willow fit the bill on all counts. He's magnificently socially awkward around pretty much everyone, but not in a bad way. More like, he has zero game when it comes to calming people down. Except, that works for Willow, so it's a non-issue. As for her, she's kinda clueless about the big, bad universe, but that's to be expected since she went from a citizen of earth to a slave in a heartbeat without getting to see much of what was out there in between.

They meet. They going through that awkward getting to know you stage. They get frisky when they should probably be watching their surroundings. But that happens.

I like aliens. I like surly enforcers who fall for their special someone when they least expect to. I like these guys.

Much better than book 1. I was invested in the story. Everything clicked (especially the couple) and I was totally sucked in by a couple side characters!

Totally cannot WAIT for book 3!

Sweet Raydn.

The second installment in the force series and this one didn't grab me as much as the first did. It's fast paced from the start our two members of the force Raydn and Kayne are on a mission to rescue one of the humans who was sold as a slave. Raydn was brave, big and strong with golden eyes who was such a cutie, every time he was around Willow he'd get tongue tied and didn't know what to say to her. Willow was a very sweet girl with a very tragic past explaining her inability to open up and care for anyone. On earth she was ignored by men as a result of that event and undervalues herself greatly. One thing that nagged me was that were not told how old Willow is or how long she's been a slave. For me the story was just lacking something, for starters their seemed to be an instant attraction between them from the very beginning which felt too fast for me. For her I think it was like a knight in shining armour type thing, he was her rescuer after all and the first male to give her any attention. But for him, he had just met her and was already feeling a pull for her when he could hardly talk to her. I was also surprised when he didn't realise her little surprise when they were together until she told him. I mean theirs a difference between a whimper of pain and a moan of pleasure. During his mission it takes a bit for something to happen so it's quite uneventful for a while. Until they find what their looking for and things start to pick up fast with plenty of action going on. What I loved the most was the sweet epilogue at the end of the book. Longer than is common it was filled with all the things I long for at the end of a book. I was extremely happy when I read it and thrilled with the conclusion of their love story plus were also told a little about our next story which was a nice bonus.

The rescue mission continues with HOT ripped alien soldiers!

For adults only (18+ years or older) Contains situations that may be triggers for some (high level list below)

While this could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend that the books be read in order, as the first one sets up the foundation of the series arc.

This story features Raydn, who reports to General Koba (book #1), and Willow, a kidnapped human female that he has spent the last few months tracking for rescue. I like the continued storyline because it allows the overall arc to be built upon from the first book and you get to know the various characters, not just the H/h a little bit more, which I think is the real benefit of reading a series.

Willow was kidnapped from earth some time ago and sold to a master that uses her for cleaning and taking care of his household. Because of her work ethic, she has become one of his favorites. She obtained some scaring from an accident when she was younger, that has protected her from having to perform the more intimate tasks. Willow has some how managed to semi domesticate a ferocious dog like animal, she calls Bear, which has now become fiercely protective.

Raydn and his crew have been trying to get a lead on any of the kidnapped women from earth. He gets a lead that females from various species, including earth, are being given to the winner of their gladiator type competitions. So they travel to that planet to see if it is true. None of the guards will allow them to see the females 'slaves' being offered to the winner until they sign up for the event, so Raydn enters. There are 8 females, but he doesn't see a human among them. Then he sees her standing by the 'master' of the event and it is like something comes alive within him. He knows he has to win the competition, no matter what other alien he has to fight and kill. After it is over, Raydn is offered his selection of the 8 'slaves' and he declines them and requests the human standing by the 'master' instead. His request is denied ...

I don't want to give away anything so I am going to stop there, as I think the main twists of the plot should be discovered by the reader.

This book contains adult language, steamy detailed intimate scenes, and violence (battling to the death, kidnapping, forced 'slavery' to an alien 'master', etc.). If any of these situations are triggers, or offensive to you, then this may not be the book or series for you.

Use the Force, Willow💃💋!

Raydn🐺🔪🔫 is a Force Warrior, a Gaian, sent by General Koba🐺🔪🔫, along with a group of his warrior brothers, to find and rescue enslaved human💃 women, wherever they can be found. The trail leads them to Terran, to a gladiators arena, where the prize for the winning gladiator is a female. One human female💃 is there with the others, but she is the personal slave of the slaves' owner, Yhm.
Raydn🐺🔪🔫 wins his bout over a huge Kmohax👹, but Yhm refuses to give him the human woman, Willow💃💋, so he picks an alien female. Later that 🌙night, the Warriors🐺🔪🔫 steal Willow💃💋 away from Yhm's compound, along with Bear🐻, a guard beast she has befriended.
There is another reason why General Koba🐺🔪🔫 wants to find the human women. Their captors, the evil Atronox👹, implanted each human woman with a capsule💊 containing an explosive that is so powerful it can kill a Force Warrior🐺🔪🔫, an almost impossible feat. The Force Warriors bodies have almost magical healing and regenerative properties. When wounded, they heal almost immediately.
Unfortunately, the capsule💊 implanted near Willow's ankle has already been removed. Where is it? Who has it?

Willow💃💋 is only the second human woman that Raydn🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 has seen, the other is Marilyn👰, now the mate of Koba.
Raydn🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 is enthralled by Willow, he's in 👽Alien 💘Love, he's in Alien Lust! Willow thinks Raydn🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 is tall, super handsome, ripped💪, and 🔥HOT!
Raydn🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫 wants to be her naaasssty baaaad boy sex toy, forever!
YEHAW! Ride Em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review.
I also got the book📑 with KU.

Loved this book📑! It's got everything an Alpha Alien Adult Romance💕 should have.
There is a spaceship, the Nightfall🚀, There is a group of super hot🔥 studly🐎 alien men🐺. There are ugly alien enemies👹. There is hand to hand combat🔪 and space battles💥, too. There is the beautiful but broken inside human woman💃💋 who thinks she just wants to go back to 🌎Earth. There is Raydn🐺🔪🔫, the tall, ripped💪 lovestruck⚡ alien Warrior. Gotta 💘Love it!

I can't believe I paid full-price for this book; I bought it because it's a serials, not a series
Not as good as the previous book. Raydn was in charge of this mission, but clearly, he wasn't ready to do it. Kayne, on the other hand, knows what he's doing and takes completely over ~80%. Raydn, like Koba, was quite unprofessional (100% looking at one place only for guards, guns, and danger), and didn't do his job properly, on top of the fact he couldn't take proper decisions. I can see Willow is a victim, but she's not helping her cause by not listening to orders (really, they were there to keep her safe). And it's not like she did it once; nope, there are some repeats and she doesn't learn quickly so she's taken hostage a few times and put a whole fleet in danger. The story wasn't so bad until ~70%. They all seem like a bunch of rookies. Raydn lets Willow hold his hand while he's checking for danger, which abounded all around them. At the end, it's a bunch of nonsense when Raydn says it's their technology that permitted them to find out about the humans and the guns (it was because of Marilyn 100%), then Willow says "member of our team" (she's not part of The Force), and "now that we're back" (she's never been there). The arrival to station is super cheesy and the epilogue has no real surprises. Why did they make friends with the villagers if they didn't even use them later on? Why was that even in the book? Editing needs a serious pass.

Okay, I’ll admit that I might have giggled a bit during the opening arena event. Kayne’s “helpful” advice had me grinning while Raydn was shaking his head at his friend. Or at least, would have, if he could, in Mira Maxwell’s “Raydn”.

Likes: Given that this is a sci fi romance, it has a very space opera feel to it and the development of the different worlds as this series slowly grows was entertaining. The relationship between Raydn and Willow are a slow burn and while they ARE attracted to each other, they don’t immediately jump into bed together.

“Raydn” is book 2 in The Force Series and picks up fairly quickly from where book 1 leaves off and if you enjoy your book boyfriends on the good looking, alpha, slightly blue side, then you definitely want to give this series a try. Granted, this is only the second book in the series but thus far, they are working as standalone stories in case you aren’t interested in the future series.

Good space adventure romance with lots of chases, skirmishes and action, and I loved the heroine's faithful furry "guard dog" companion Bear! I also found both MCs very likeable; heroine Willow is plucky and hero Raydn is competent, noble and sensitive to Willow's hardship and acute disappointment. Plus, I got a kick out of the dry humor and banter with Kayne, the hero's wise cracking number two.

I might have rated it higher but IMO some of the steam was too drawn out and not integral to the story and I felt the ending was a bit weak.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

(KU borrow) Raydn needed to leader-up

While I enjoyed reading this book, I found a few things ho-hum. If it hadn't been for Kayne, it might have fallen a little flat because Raydn didn't seem to be enough of a leader. I thought he was going to be at first, but then he just started acting like he couldn't find his way out of a paper bag without Kayne's help. Willow on the other hand, was ready to blaze a path a mile wide for the Force to follow behind her on. Otherwise, I liked how he made Willow feel beautiful inspite of the scars. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

The search for more human woman continues in book two of this series.

Raydn is a rules by the book kind of guy until he meets Willow, then he is sort of flying by the seat of his pants. Willow wants to find a way to leave her current situation, but is unprepared for what lies ahead. When she runs into Raydn she doesn't have a whole lot of options but to trust him.

Mira Maxwell manages to blend the right amount of romance and drama for me to get into her books. With secondary characters thrown in that have me wanting their own story. *I was gifted a copy for an honest review.*

Willow is a survivor and she has the scars to prove it. Kidnapped and sold to an alien master, she watches and waits for her chance to free herself. Raydn has been tasked with finding and rescuing more of the Earth women kidnapped by the Atronox. Imagine his surprise when he finds her escaping on her own. The attraction between the two is undeniable. Will Willow trust Raydn and accept the fact she may never return to Earth? I really enjoy reading this series and can't wait to read the next book.

Good potential

The force series has potential, the story line is interesting and can really grow and continue having readers engaged.
I gave it a lower rating because I feel the characters are underdeveloped as is the plot line; in trying to do too much the details that would focus on the main plot line were neglected.

Thank goodness another author I can feed my love for sci-fi romances on. There are so few that are good reading and fun, and safe and believable. Yes Willow was abducted but the male she falls for saved her and helped her get free so every choice she made with him was her free will, and she did sort of and save herself. It was an interesting and fun read.

Fun little space romp

This was an interesting little story. Willow is a human slave and Raydn is there to rescue her. She hadn't planned on waiting though, and escaped with the help of a fierce baslor named Bear that she befriended.

Decent story

The story was decent, but it was a little forced...or maybe rushed. You don't really get a sense of who Raydn is. The conversations were kind of stilted too.
