Dark Dominance #3

Dangerous Control

Rate this book
Not all fantasies are safe, sane, and consensual. Welcome to the world of The Gallery…Milo Fierro lives for two things, dominance and music. At The Gallery, where depravity rules, he’s known for his passionate desires, but on the outside, he’s learned to hide beneath a veneer of dark-eyed professionalism. It’s too dangerous to be himself. Most women don’t understand.

Alice definitely doesn’t understand. Her father was his violin teacher for years, and now that she and Milo are adults, she thinks they can be friends. The girl he knew as “Lala” draws him in with her grace and kindness, unaware of his ugly, hidden side. He can’t touch her, or even stand near her. He doesn’t dare reach out to her, no matter how much her talent and beauty inflames his lusts. She deserves better, deserves a man who’s nothing like him…

If only she wasn’t so impossible to resist.

description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
I have enjoyed this series quite a lot, but this book was probably my least favorite of the three. I ADORE a good sadist, and in the first two books, Milo was just that. Alas, in this one, we barely get any glimpses of the Milo from the first two books. In fact, I kind of felt he spent most of this book being a whiny douche. That said, it was still a very well-written book. It was fast-paced and on the shorter side with it clocking in at just under two hours of reading time. It was told in a dual POV format. Last, it was all wrapped up in an OK ending. Being that this was the series finale book I was hoping for a further into the future look at all three of these couples. The ending I got was really just an happy for now which left me a little disappointed.

~HERO~
MILO...Sigh. Milo was OK. I preferred his character in the first two books. In this one, he came across too wishy-washy. Especially in his inner thoughts. I wanted him to be the bada$$ sadist he was in the first two books. That said, he had a few moments (few and far between as they were) that I got glimpses of the sadist Milo, so he wasn't a complete wash. I also loved that he was all about Alice (no OW) once they reconnect.

~HEROINE~
ALICE...What can I say, I struggled with Alice's character as well. I prefer my heroes to do the chasing so I got a bit annoyed with Alice doing all the chasing. I really wanted her to say; "You know what? You don't want to try to have a relationship with me, fine. I'll go find someone who will". Obviously, there wouldn't have been a book if that happened, but it would have been nice for Milo to at least ONCE be pushing for a relationship instead of Alice always throwing herself at him. C'est la vie.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There weren't all that many secondary characters in this one. We see a little of both couples from the previous books. We also see a bit of both Milo's and Alice's parents, but this was a more main character driven book.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium. There are a handful of spicey scenes in this one. Some are pretty hardcore. Actually, pretty much all of them are hardcore. This couple actually never has "sweet" sex, which wasn't an issue for me. Milo is a sadist, so we get a lot of pain. Whipping. Tying up. Nipple and clit clips. Anal, etc. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of scenes in the Gallery. Again, because of how Milo was portrayed in the first two books I was expecting more.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Highish. Milo pushes Alice away a lot and is a jerk quite a few times. That said, there is no OW drama or OM drama. Milo is not with any other women after he reconnects with Alice. Although, he does go to the Gallery and attends a B-day party gang bang (but doesn't take part). Neither were virgins. Just as a side note, can I just say how tired I am of the cliché "pushing 40 years old player that never had a serious relationship and sleeps with a different woman every week." hero. <--- If you are pushing middle-aged and still f-cking everything that walks having never had a single relationship, most women are not going to look at you with lust in their eyes. They are going to be wondering WTF is wrong with you (lol).

~IN THE END~
So yea, this one was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed it, but it had quite a few things that left me MEH. I struggle with both main characters (especially Milo). Maybe my expectations got the better of me (shrug). That said, the series overall was pretty damn good. This author is a fantastic writer. This book was fast paced and the plot engaging. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one a solid thumbs up.description

ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-4/6/18

I'm a big fan of Annabel Joseph's books and though not my favourite of her works I still really enjoyed "Dangerous Control"
So first this can totally be read as a stand-alone; no issues whatsoever.
There are three books in this series all set around the gallery; a secret BDSM club with its own set of exclusive rules.
In this instalment, we are re-introduced to Milo; who is a hard-core sadist and dominant.
This is one story I was looking forward to and I did find this very entertaining.
There were just a few teeny issues that Pulled my enjoyment down slightly; I still found this a great read but with a few tweaks this would have a higher rating from me.
So here we have Milo and Alice.
As I said earlier Milo is a sadist and he has been in awe of Alice most of his life; placing her on an unreachable pedestal he loves and worships her from afar.
Alice; La La growing up has loved Milo forever but has no idea whatsoever of his perversions and kinks.
Family friends; who have literally grown up together; both from a musical background these two have so much in common.
There love for each other and violins being a start; Milo plays and builds them; Alice is a musical prodigy.
I was wholeheartedly rooting all the way for these two.
So my issues here; I would have maybe liked Milo to be a bit more pro-active in his attraction to Alice.
She was the one who seemed to do most of the pursuing; which Is fine; I'm a modern woman and all; it just seemed to me that she was doing the majority of the chasing at the expense of her self-respect.
Don't get me wrong as a reader I was aware of Milos affections towards his lovely La La.
But considering he was constantly pushing Alice away she obviously wasn't aware of his inner thoughts at all; she's hardly a mind reader.
I was cringing a bit at her blatant honesty in regards to the constant rejection Milo sent her way.
And even when these two finally did connect; I was still slightly annoyed that he just couldn't take Alice's affections at face value.
Questioning and analyzing everything she said and did and acting all soft.
I like me a good old sadist in my fiction and got to say; I was a trifle disappointed in Milos wishy-washy demeanour; when he just let himself go; he shone and came totally into his own; it was magical to perceive; But when he got all guilt filled I just wanted arsehole Milo back; I liked him so much better than the lighter less sadistic version.
Despite my above gripes I still found this a worthy contender in BDSM fiction.
"Dangerous Control" was kinky as hell and hot as fuck.
The sexual antics between Milo and Alice were hardcore in their intensity.
There was nothing sweet about there interactions in the bedroom.
Milo shows his passion through pain and Alice though a novice to the scene revels and grows within Milos sadistic arms.
The then contrast in his actual feelings is obviously the reason he struggled so much in his attraction to Alice; wanting to love her but also hurt her; he finds this abhorrent and wants to save her from himself.
We also get the added bonus here of reconnecting with our previous couples; that was a nice touch.
I've read one of the other books but still need to read the second.
Got to mention as well before I go "Fuckable Hair" OMG; I have never heard a hairstyle actually described that way; so made me smile that.
So while this was not my favourite in the Gallery series I still really enjoyed myself here.
A greatly enjoyable read.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Dangerous Control (Dark Dominance, #3)" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Genre: Erotic Romance
Type: Standalone Book 3 of 3 from Dark Dominance series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Massimiliano (Milo) Fierro had two passions in life - his music and his kink. Coming from a renowned family of violin maker, he knew how to tune not only his instrument but also his sub to perfection. But he was at lost when someone he cared about came back into his life and shook things up.

Lilly-Alice (Alice) Nyquist was a child prodigy violinist whose family was close to the Fierros. Now all grown up, her new job brought her closer to her childhood crush. And she was willing to try anything to get him to see her as more.

What was this curse, that a girl I’d called Lala for half my life would end up growing into the woman my soul pined for?

I find Milo to be very alluring. Besides being Italian, his "love affair" with violins made him sensual. I love how his hand could both craft and ravage.

She had no idea how much I enjoyed hurting women, making them cry. I was a man who prized sexual obedience and surrender. Even if I explained what I was into, even if I paused our kiss and told her everything right now, she wouldn’t understand.

Alice might be somewhat sweet but certainly not innocent. I love how she pushed to get what she wanted and not afraid to stand up for herself.

I like the story overall especially with their family background, however, I was hoping the story would be darker and more intense. This is because Milo has been touted as the most intense one in this series but I feel he was too soft and held back too much.

“It’s hard bringing you down from your pedestal to hurt you.”

Dangerous Control is a story sacrificing and compromising in the name of love. It would appeal to readers who prefer light BDSM romance.

I can't help it, I just didn't buy the story...
She's so nice, so kind, so vanilla, he's a sadist with his own BDSM club... and suddenly, oh surprise, she's a masochist which is so convenient of course because they are childhood friends and are obsessed with each other for a long time, just haven't acted on it because yeah... he's thought she's too innocent for him. Now she's determined to win him over and is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that.

The characters were written well, I liked the explanation of the violinists (she's a violinist and he's a violin maker), but the story felt ubelievable to me... I've always wondered if the BDSM style was her belief or just the need to stay with him. BDSM was okay, nothing hardcore.

Massimiliano “Milo” Fierro is a violin maker for his Italian family’s prestigious business. With a passion for music and craftsmanship, Milo has a quiet yet commanding way about him. But when it comes to thoughts about his childhood friend, it's nothing close to pure.

“You want me, don’t you?” she asked in a small voice, searching my gaze. “I want you too damn much.” I meant it as a warning.”

Lilly-Alice “Alice” Nyquist is a violin virtuosa who recently accepted an orchestra position at the Met. Being in New York brings her closer to Milo, the man she’s adored since she was a child.

“You’re big,” she said. For the first time, she looked as if her courage might falter. Yes, I’m big. I’m mean. I’m bad and rough.”

As circumstances happen, Alice and Milo rekindle their friendship but they also know that their feelings run deeper. Trying to fight his attraction to Alice, Milo believes staying away is the best way to protect her from his sadistic tendencies. However, Alice is willing to prove she can be the perfect maso-submissive.

“My ass felt empty now, but my pussy was so, so full of him. He banged me there against his headboard, and it hurt, but it felt magical too, and when he started grinding his pelvis against my clit, I lost it.”

Told in dual POV, the passion Milo and Alice share for music and family is part of their strong bond. Not wanting to compromise what they already share, Milo must reconcile being a Dominant with the woman he loves. Meeting Milo halfway, Alice shows that she is a worthy partner.

Of all the Dominant characters in this series, Milo intrigued me the most and I’ve been looking forward to his book. With his passion, he warmed my heart but being that Milo is the owner of The Gallery and has the reputation for being a master sadist, I wanted to experience his expertise much more. However, their chemistry was still off the charts and the kinkery was quite hot. As for Alice, she is the perfect balance to Milo and I liked her tenacity.

Dangerous Control will appeal to those who enjoy a romance with BDSM elements between two characters who learn to find their way together.

This has been a fun and hot series, I am talking off the charts HOT! Three friends Fort, Dev, and Milo all find their HEAs in the Dark Dominance Series and in this final book of the series, Dangerous Control, Milo finally gets the HEA he has subconsciously craved. I say that he subconsciously craved his HEA because he has been in love with LaLa (Lilly Alice aka Alice) since they were young but since he was six years her senior he never did anything about it, also their families are really, really close, but the true fact of the matter is that he didn't do anything about it because he respected her to much....his words not mine.

2* STARS!

Really, really disappointing. Milo is one of the Most Anticipated Master among them didn't meet my expectation. To be honest, I lost interest with the story then characters. Since I didn't like this book, I'm gonna keep my review short and straight forward.

Massimiliano Fierro (Milo) is a violin maker from renowned Italian family. He dedicated his life to music and BDSM. Like his friends, Milo is part of The Gallery as a Sadist. His playboy lifestyle almost the same level like Devin. But only one woman he craved for. Lilly-Alice Nyquist (Lala/Alice) know what she wants. Her childhood crush towards Milo never fade away then escalated to want him. But Alice haven't met his beast, yet.

Both characters are unbelievable. I wanna roll my eyes every time they made sexy times. Milo conflicted with his feeling towards Alice also didn't wanna lose his 'title' as Master/Sadist. Then, Alice who is obsess over Milo couldn't handle his rejection. Ugh such a communication, people.

I dislike Milo instantly. He treats Alice differently. Like putting a distance or hot and cold attitude. He also tried to friend-zone her. Geez, so mature! It really make his character inconsistent. That's my give up point in the story. I kept skimming pages to see what happened in the next.

Of course, finally Alice started to learn BDSM and surprise oh surprise she's a masochist which makes Milo happy. With such an instant introduction, I didn't catch their vibe together even they mentioned how they're like each other since childhood. Non sense. Another disappointment is with the rushed ending. Like... Okay, they're finally together. The End? Ha Ha Ha... I'm outta here.

I've read all the previous books in this series before getting my hands on Dangerous Control by Annabel Joseph, so i really did know what i was getting into when i picked up this book. The first book in the series was the one that touched me the most, because it was new and we're looking at the seedy aspect of BDSM and how a club would use their rules to ensure that no submissives were safe from other Dominants. Then, the second instalment left me with that feeling of 'meh', but it was still very good, keeping me entertained as i read the characters' story.

Now we have Dangerous Control, Massimiliano and Alice's story. Compared to the previous instalments, these two have a long history. They've known one another since their childhood and have had this love/hate relationship between one another. Love because no matter what, they will always care for one another, even with their distance. The hate part - well, there's this aspect that Milo thinks Alice can't handle, his Dominance and Sadism, which i'll admit is interesting to watch him with her in the few scenes we've been privy to read in this novel. So that dynamic, the love/hate, was almost, at times, infuriating. I get it. I really do. Can a sadist truly love someone even if they crave hurting them?

That part was a bit annoying from Milo - but that's probably just me. As for Alice, well, she's quite the people pleaser, but she does have a backbone. I still wonder if it were any other person than Milo, would she have craved the pain as much as she did in this book. I think that's the million dollar question - is masochism linked to the person that deals the pain or is it an innate need? That, ladies and gents, is subject to personal views and what this author has done was pretty much show another side to this type of relationship that shows just how far love will push an individual to show their need for the other.

“What you're into – it can't hurt any worse than never having you when I love you so much.”

How much do we really know each other? How much do we really know ourselves? Should our darkest desires remain locked in, or should we share with the world? More specifically, with the loved woman? Even if you know without a doubt that you have peculiar tastes, and the woman you can not forget is someone very different from you, someone you have known since childhood, who you always loved and revered at a distance and always placed on an unattainable and untouchable pedestal ? How much would you be willing to take?
We will follow the journey of Alice and Massimiliano or Milo for the intimates. She, a beautiful, talented and acclaimed musician who has loved the same man forever but has never had the courage to reveal. He, an equally talented musician, who makes violins, descended from a family where music is more than a profession, is a passion. She is light. He is dark. She is innocent. He is a Dom. She wants to marry him. He wants to possess her. The only thing in common between them, apart from music, is the love they feel for each other. But Milo knows that this relationship can never occur, he will never submit Alice to his innermost desires. The problem is that Milo is not only a Dominator, he is a sadist, and his need to cause pain is what excites him, but he does not admit to treating Alice that way, so he never revealed to her what he feels.
A thrust of fate, in the form of a tragedy, will bring these two together, and as Alice decides to try to charm him, Milo will dodge in every possible way. But is his self-control so powerful, or will he find that it is sometimes dangerously difficult to resist?

The book deals a lot with the question of musicality, the instruments are like secondary characters, the scenes with the violins are interesting and important, were very well incorporated in the narrative. The plot is erotic, the couple has chemistry, is a little out of the comfort zone, BDSM is strong, aggravated by sadism / masochism. Milo struggles all the time for not to allow be himself with Alice. When he finally surrender himself, it will be up to him to teach and guide her through this new world.
One criticism to make is the very simple solution presented at the end of the book for The Gallery issue. Nothing to spoil the plot, but I found it very quick and easy for a place so full of rules and it was presented throughout the book as an extremely erotic club. Plus, I enjoyed the plot, I loved the part of the musicality as I mentioned, I enjoyed Milo's internal struggle, and Alice is well written, sweet and vulnerable but at the same time brave and strong. A good book, nothing exceptional, but fulfills its role

Dangerous Control is the third book in Annabel Joseph's Dark Dominance BDSM series. This is Milo and Alice's story. Milo is a sexy, mysterious Italian violin maker who feels like he needs to hide his true self from the world because most women would not understand his sexual urges. Behind the closed doors of The Gallery, his BDSM club, he is known for his passionate nature, but to the rest of the world he is known only for his professionalism.

Alice knows Milo because she grew up alongside him. Her father was his violin teacher for years. She has always harbored a bit of a crush for him and now that they are adults, she hopes they can be friends. Alice casts a spell over Milo. Her kindness and her grace are immensely appealing, but he desperately tries to resist her. He knows that she could never understand his desires. He can't touch her, he can't be too close to her, he doesn't want to sully her beauty or talent. Alice won't simply let him push her away. She is not the young girl he once knew. She is a determined woman now and is willing to do whatever it takes to break through Milo's defenses. Soon, Milo finds it impossible to resist her, but can she ever accept his desires?

I enjoyed this book very much, though I was surprised that it was not darker. Milo seemed to be the darkest and most intense of the Doms, but that didn't necessarily play out here. That fact did not take away from my enjoyment at all, it was just a bit surprising because I thought I knew how it would play out in that regard and it was different than expected. Joseph always writes BDSM well and if you are picky about your BDSM series, you will not be the least bit disappointed here.

Dangerous Control by Annabel Joseph is book Three in the Dark Dominance Series. This is the story of Milo and Alice. I have read the previous books but this is easily a standalone book.
Milo took Violin lessons from Stefan Nyquist who besides being a family friend was a great Violinist.
Stefan had a daughter Lala (Alice) and they became good friends but when they got older there became a great attraction. Milo now a Violin maker also is into the BDSM scenes at The Gallery. Milo thinks that Alice is to innocent and to much of a lady to be into that scene so he tries to make sure to keep away from her and keep her in the friend zone. Alice is back in town and this time she is moving forward with her feelings for Milo and when she learns what is keeping him at arms length she tries to prove to him that she can be into that type of play.
Good Friends to Lovers hot romance.

Out of 3 books, this is my less favorite.
The least hardcore too.
I just find it Alice is “too willing” wish there’s bit “restraint” from her, not just yeses to anything Milo says and desires...because a little bit suspense won’t hurt.

Anyway, to each their own. You should def read this book if you’ve been following Milo story from book 1 & 2!!

Another fun read from Annabel Joseph. I really love it when she releases a new book, especially when it's this kinky.

Friends for years, thinking they knew everything about each other, Alice was in for a big surprise when she stumbled on Milo's in home dungeon. Even more so when she had a sit down with Juliet and Ella. A whole new world was presented to her and with that, a completely different side of Milo. So while they had known mostly everything about each other, they still had more ground to cover and that made this romance fun. Because friends to lovers is always fun, but friends to lovers with added kink? Best!

Still, Dangerous Control felt only kind of dangerous. Don't get me wrong, it's kinky... really kinky. But for all of Milo's insistence that he's dangerous and a massive sadist, he felt kind of tame compared to Fort. And maybe this is just me being picky because still, after the three books are now done, Fort and Juliet's book is still my favorite of the series. But! I really enjoyed this a lot. I think the things I enjoyed the most was when Milo finally let his guard down and he and Alice could just be. They worked well together in so many areas of their relationship that it wasn't hard to believe that they'd be able to work through Milo's worries over hurting Alice.

There is a really beautiful romance that occurs throughout the book that had me addicted to it. The romance of the music, of Milo, of his violin making skills. The way Alice and Milo related to the music and how that in turn made them relate to each other. That romance is what was the best. It's what also made me love this as much as I did. The deep connection to music, and to the violin, they both shared was something that always brought them together, and it was something that helped them stay together.

If there is anything I'd wish for, it is that there was an Epilogue. I feel like I needed to see just a little bit more. Because Fort and Devin were making changes in their lives, and of course Milo. Plus, there were changes to be made at The Gallery. I would have liked to see how that played out. And also, to see a bit of the "after" with Fort and Juliet, Devin and Ella. They were important couples these stories and I would have loved to see all of them together, playing and just being great friends. But I'm kind of greedy like that.

I have been a huge fan of Annabel Joseph and her Dark Dominance series from the first book and was SO happy that we finally got Milo's story. I knew this dark, brooding and mysterious man would have a killer story and boy did the author deliver! I loved Alice and Milo's love story. It was honest, emotion-filled and filled to the brim with hot and dangerous sexytimes with an exciting edge of menace and dominance.

When Alice "Lala" Nyquist sees Milo Fierro again, her lifelong feelings for her childhood crush return with a vengeance. But what she doesn't know is that the familiar boy and young man she knew was now the dark and secretive Sadist with a penchant for pain. But would the innocent Alice be able to accept Milo and his sadistic urges to dominate her?

Gahh! I loved Milo. I felt like he was one of the most honest characters this author has written as he was always in touch with his true emotions about Alice. He was scared, yes but there was never any doubt as to how he felt about her. I thought his lack of artifice was so refreshing and loved the way he adored Alice. Likewise, Alice wore her heart on her sleeve and knew Milo was her endgame. I respected her dedication and commitment to winning her man. Overall I thought this story was fantastic and a stark reminder that true love is not always without doubt and sacrifice. But with perseverance and the will to be together, all will be worked out. This series was truly magnificent and I will miss Fort, Devin and Milo! Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

This was a great ending to this trilogy, and I'm already eager to see what Annabel Joseph has in store for us next! This one was her usual mix of dirty and sweet, and I really liked both characters, especially Alice.

There were some things I didn't love--I was totally wild about Milo from the start, but after he and Alice finally slept together, his self-tormenting "No, I can't hurt her because I love her!" attitude began to wear on me. Kind of demeaning to the countless women he'd been with before, no? But the buildup and anticipation was completely delicious, that's for sure.

Second, I know that jealous hero is a super common trope in romance novels, so a lot of women must love it, but I'm mostly tired of it, especially with this trilogy repeating the theme of these guys who just love to share women until they meet one they love. I would have been much more into it if we could have seen Milo loving Alice *and* enjoying the shit out of sharing her with other men at The Gallery.

Still, in the end, it's Annabel Joseph and she's just so good, so overall I enjoyed this novel and the whole trilogy. She just does such a good job writing sexy stuff and feelings about that sexy stuff. And she's completely brilliant when it comes to writing the anticipation phase of a relationship. Well worth a read of this is your kind of thing.

A cute (if I can call a BDSM book cute) ending to the Dark Dominance trilogy.

Milo has danced around Alice for years. Unwilling to bring her into his world of depravity. He's kept her at arms length but they are forced together by circumstances beyond their control including his mother. Milo is finally ready to bring the passion and kink to his life long for but is still hesitant about showing his true colors. If it wasn't for Alice she would still be sleeping in the guest room.

Alice was determined to make Milo hers. I found her to be sweet but naive, especially when it came to Milo and his sexual proclivity. I appreciated her openness about the love she felt for him . She was honest and Frank about her feelings.

The music and their love for it creates another character that I thought added to their story. I could hear the music when he played for her and when they played together. The ebb and flow of it was how they shared their relationship early on.

While I enjoyed the book it wasn't the as hardcore as the others. There weren't any huge emotional rollercoaster or extra angst that were in the other books. This was about two people who were willing to bend to give the other one what they needed.

I was waiting with bated breath for this to come out and was not disappointed. Milo and Lala/Alice's relationship is quite believable, within the setting we're given. Milo has had Alice on a pedestal since they were young and that does not jibe with his extreme BDSM lifestyle. Alice has been in love with Milo since she was a child, so she doesn't understand his reluctance since he does admit to having feelings for her. Once Milo understands his block, things begin to proceed with incredibly hot scenes and brief appearances by the 2 previous couples. There is also one key change made to policies at the Gallery.

This was a good book with really good writing and storyline. I enjoyed reading about Milo and Lala, and the Gallery. I have not read the first two books yet, but that didn't keep me from understanding everything, this can be read as a standalone.
The only thing that bothered me in the story is the way he kept her up on a pedestal, and didn't want to believe her or let her in to his lifestyle. That's part of the story though, it wasn't bad writing. He just irritated me a bit, but Lala kept after him, she was a strong woman who knew what she wanted.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ❤~🌟~❤4 DANGEROUSLY COMMANDING STARS! ❤~🌟~❤

“I control you. I own you. You’re mine.”

Annabel Joseph is my go-to author for hardcore BDSM that pushes me way past my limits but inflames my senses so masterfully I CAN’T RESIST plunging into her dark and decadent world! And DANGEROUS CONTROL, her last stand-alone installment in her Dark Dominance trilogy, stole my breath and took full ownership of my heart!

THE STORY:
Massimiliano “Milo” Fierro is a renowned violin maker for his Italian family’s lucrative business, but he is also the owner of The Gallery BDSM club. And beneath his well-mannered, gentlemanly persona beats the heart of a deviant sadist! His best friends and fellow doms, Fort and Devin, are blissfully paired off with the loves of their lives, and with the holidays upon him, he feels especially lonely. But when Milo’s path collides with his childhood family friend, Lilly-Alice Nyquist, a violin virtuosa who recently moved to NYC after accepting a position at the Metropolitan Orchestra, his world tilts on its axis!

Alice aka “Lala” has been hopelessly in love with Milo since she was a child, and makes no secret of how much she wants him. He is desperately in love with her too, but as much as it pains him, he tamps down his forbidden desires and gently snubs her overtures because he knows the angelic beauty is no match for the perverse impulses she sparks in him

“Sweet, tantalizing Alice, with her blushing, breathless declarations of love. She had no idea how much I enjoyed hurting women, making them cry.”

However, the harder they dance around their inevitable pull the more POTENT their pent up cravings become. Especially after Alice’s apartment—and her prized “Grapeleaf” Fierro— are demolished in a gas explosion and Milo not only offers to make the distraught violinist a new one but gallantly invites her to stay in his guest room while she gets back on her feet. And when Alice stumbles upon his secret dungeon and it awakens her own wickedly wanton maso desires, it’s only a matter of time before she is on her knees, Completely at Milo’s mercy. Accepting the lash of his whip and bending to his every iron command!

But as she is drawn deeper into his dark, dangerous world of pleasure /pain, can Lala truly be the “heartsong,” that Milo plays with fierce, violent joy, or will fear and uncertainty, heartache and trepidation destroy them both?

MY MUSINGS:
Holy depravity! DANGEROUS CONTROL was oh so scintillating!. It had me tingling with pleasure, shivering in excitement and floating into heady sub space!

The writing is exquisite—Ms. Joseph’s vast knowledge of the subject matter truly transports you into the opulent classical musical landscape as well as the darkly alluring world of S&M. One thing I truly appreciate about this author’s narrative is that she always digs so deep into the psyches of her Doms and Subs and weaves a highly emotional, intricate love story that is so much more than titillation or dungeon kinkery! This story vibrates with raw, electrifying emotion and breathtaking poignancy and struck an indelible chord!

Relayed in dual POV, the character development was also sublime! Milo, a dominant whose dark, quietly brooding and commanding presence has set many subs hearts aflame, pours his life's blood into his masterful craftsmanship of making beautiful violins. But he is a man who is tortured by his dark carnal lust for the one woman he covets above all others. From an early age, the ginger-haired, green eyed violinist had carved out a special place in his heart. But as the owner/master sadist of The Gallery he knows his reputation precedes him and he must reconcile his dark, deviant inclinations with his deep-seated need to protect Alice…from himself!

I was RIVETED by Milo’s ferocious inner battle as he tries so hard to reign in his dangerous desires because he fears if he loses control he could destroy his precious Lala in the end ! However, the intense devotion that Milo and Alice share for music —and each other—tethers them together in powerfully profound ways. And, despite outward appearances, the sweet, maso sub of his secret dreams proves she is NO DELICATE FLOWER! Can this kind, bright, talented musician prove to be this formidable sadist's perfect match in the bedroom—and in life?

“She tasted like joy and energy, and all the forbidden fantasies I’d locked out of my mind.”

Oooh! Talk about high voltage sparks! I loved how Milo and Alice tried to resist one another until the temptation became too combustible. The red-hot lust and aching longing between the MCs was just so palpable, but the emotional stakes of embarking on an S&M relationships were very high since their families were so close and they have been a part of each other's lives for decades. If things fell apart for them it would not only be THEIR hearts that would be shattered.

As for the “crazy kinky” erotic interludes? Off the charts hot! They were definitely not for the faint of heart but they certainly left me ALL AQUIVER!

“You taste delicious, wicked and sweet. What’s pleasure, though, without pain?”

My only quibble in an otherwise OUTSTANDING read was that as uber dominant Milo was in the bedroom, he was a bit too soft and mellow in his romantic and social interactions for my taste. I am used to seeing more forceful and predatory Alphas from this author, so this tamer Dom was a tad jarring. I also wish Milo had not spent so much of the book fighting his relationship with Alice. That aside, I still enjoyed this story immensely! The plot flows at a lovely pace, with high voltage sensual and emotional tension pulsating throughout, finally culminating in a grandiose final act for this tempestuous romantic concerto!

BOTTOM LINE:
DANGEROUS CONTROL is a rapturous dark BDSM tale that commanded my heart and left me deliciously satiated yet still had me BEGGING FOR MORE!! A spectacular last installment in the Dark Dominant series that I highly recommend!

Some authors are known for a certain genre, or sub-genre, and this particular one excels in books with characters that walk on the dark side; or rather strut in stiletto thigh-high boots to get there. Dangerous Control, the third book in the Dark Dominance series featuring the founding owners of The Gallery, a no holds barred BDSM club that’s heavy on the Dom/Sadist part. I’m a huge fan of this kink and was looking forward to Milo’s story. It’s a standalone and a very fast-paced read that ends in a teary-eyed, not due to pain, HEA.

Lilly-Alice (Alice) Nyquist recently accepted an orchestra position at the NYC Metropolitan Orchestra. The violin virtuoso was a child prodigy and the daughter of Stefan Nyquist, a famed musician and violin professor. She happily accepted the position, knowing she’d eventually run into her childhood crush Milo, since their parents had been lifelong friends. Both families had always been hopeful the couple would fall in love and marry someday; something Lala, her childhood nickname, had always secretly hoped for, too. She’d fallen in love with Milo while in her teens, when he took lessons from her father, and back then the difference in age seemed huge. Now that he’s almost forty and she’s thirty-three, and both single, six-years don’t seem to matter too much.

Massimiliano (Milo) Fierro is the only son and heir to the famous Fierro violin dynasty, renowned worldwide for their craftsmanship. He spends his days making violins for distinguished and discerning professionals, all made custom made, taking months to hand make each and every masterpiece. He’s not only demanding at work, he’s more so in his private life; especially with his submissive partners, ones he works over at The Gallery, the private and exclusive BDSM club he and two of his closest friends co-own and founded. He’s been looking for a new one, since letting go of his last sub.

When he runs into Lala, or Alice as she insists everyone call her now, at his parent’s Christmas party, he’s not very happy to see her. Despite knowing her his entire life, having attended her Christening as a young boy and while taking lessons from her demanding father, he knew he’d never make the wishes of both families come true; that one day had he and Lala would become a couple. He would have liked that too, she was more beautiful than he remembered, but he knew she just was too good for him. There was no way he’d ever hurt her like he loved to hurt his subs, so there was no point in getting anyone’s hopes up, much less Alices’s. He dreams of telling her his true feelings:
“Alice, I love you so much that I can’t let myself have you. That’s how deep you live in my heart.”

When an unforeseen incident throws them together and Alice makes her feelings known to him, Milo rejects her without telling her the real reason. His feeling for her run deep but he’d never forgive himself if he hurt her, and controlling his depraved appetite isn’t an option. When she’ll discovers what Milo likes on her own she decides to confront him and insists he give her a chance. Milo struggles to have that kind of relationship he needs and craves with Alice; he doesn’t believe she’ll be able to handle it, until his hand is forced.

“You can’t hide your heart from those who see it, once they know it’s there.”

Always follow your parent’s advice, they know you best! I loved this story, though I would of loved to have a more sadist Milo, but that’s just me!

★4 STARS★

Of all the Dominants in the series it’s Milo Fierro that has intrigued me the most. He’s always appeared the most dedicated and ruthlessly dominate, so it would be a wonderful thing to witness his head turned by a love interest.

The woman in question is violin player and childhood friend, Lilly-Alice Nyquist. Friend may be a slight exaggeration, but her father had been Milo’s first violin instructor so they found themselves in each other’s company many times over the years. As an adult however Milo has subconsciously made it his objective to stay away from Alice. He’s fiercely attracted to her, but the last thing he wants to do is taint Alice with the way he chooses to express himself. She may have mellowed from the drama queen of her youth but in that place stands a woman so trusting and innocent he struggles between wanting to hold and wanting to torment her.

It may not have been the greatest of circumstances that cause Alice and Milo to reconnect, but Alice can’t help but feel it’s their time now. She’s always known him to intense, but in his adulthood the intensity sets her on fire in a way she has never known. She knows there’s a part of himself he holds back from her and to discover it she needs to let him know she’s no longer the innocent Milo believes her to be.

Like its predecessors Dangerous Control makes for an enthralling and addictive read. The development of Milo and Alice’s relationship is a sensual and explorative one. Although Alice awakens a part of herself she never knew existed, it was Milo’s discoveries about himself that I found hugely enjoyable.

When it comes to BDSM, Annabel Joseph has become one of my go-to authors. I enjoy the honesty in her writing and her ability to evoke emotion in the most captivating of scenes.

Dark Control, Deep Control and Dangerous Control are a dominance three-book series by Annabel Joseph. This series follows three life long friends and their life inside the D/s world and the women they choose. Although, I’ve read about fifteen of Ms. Joseph’s books, this is my first review.

In Dark Control, we meet Fort and Juliet. They meet by chance one night outside a BDSM club. Juliet knew she wanted Fort right off, Fort fights this attraction they both feel for each other. Unable to fight the attraction, Fort falls hard for Juliet. Ms. Joseph always makes her hero strong and dominant but, at the same time loving and willing to do anything for their woman. There is a happy ending, and I love it when the characters of a series spill over into the sequels.

In Deep Control, we find Devin, a flying high pilot and Ella an astrophysicist, get it. Devin is a playboy dominant that refuses to settle on one woman, until that ONE woman is Ella. Ella is a Starts Nerd, she’s smart and she focused on her career, but Dev takes her for the ride of her life and they soon fly high together. I liked Ella before I like Devin, I didn’t care for him in Dark Control but, in Deep Control, you get more into him and I was hooked.

In Dangerous Control, Milo and Alice are long time childhood friends and, Alice (Lala) has loved Milo since she knew what the word was. In the books before, Milo seemed like a dark and brutal Dom, and he is. But, the big beautiful violinist is hooked on his own violinist, but is he good enough for her. Alice, is a go get him girl. She’s not into games, and she wants him, and she gets him.

Ms. Joseph’s books are packed with dominant men and spirited women. Her writing to me is right on point, full of adult action, and the plots are always intriguing.

Holy hurts - you need to be prepared because Milo likes to make it hurt, bad. No amateurs need apply, only those with deep masochist needs should approach this uber-sadist. Or, someone he has known from childhood who is innocent to kink

Milo is six years older than Alice, and he has loved her from afar. He is sure he can't act on his feelings because how could he ever hurt her, her loves her! Milo learns not everything always needs to stay the same, and you can get what you want, and what you want can change too. He still wants to be a sadist, so that doesn't change, but his perception and guilt over being one to Alice, that definitely needs to be updated

Alice has loved Milo forever , and once they are alone together, she can't help but tell him. It isn't until she stumbles across his secrets she understands why he continually rejects her. And even after she thinks she makes progress, set backs again and again. She learns she loves belonging to Milo, being his, bringing him pleasure brings her peace. She finally ends up with everything she has ever wanted, but didn't know was out there, with Milo

Not for the faint of heart, but definitely for those who like things real and dark, Milo and Alice find what they need in each other, once they realize they can have what they want in each other. BDSM sadist and masochist perfection!

I have to admit, I didn’t read books 1 and 2. Sorry, but wait….that is good news. This can be read as a stand-alone! Yes, you will already know that there are two couples if you go back and read the others which is what I’m going to do since I wanted to know more about The Gallery. This is the story of Milo and Alice. Milo is a sadist at heart but his childhood friend Alice doesn’t know this. Circumstances throw them together which tests Milo’s restraint. Now don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t go down without a fight, but he thinks he can have one night with Alice and call it good. Of course not!

I completely adored the way Milo wanted to protect Alice and I loved the way Alice used the internet to learn about BDSM and thought she was all that. Yes, there were a few things that didn’t click….seemed a tad forced or unnatural, but overall I really enjoyed Milo and Alice!

Hero (Milo) 5 | Heroine (Alice) 5 | Plot 4 | Writing Style 4 | Steam 4 | Romance 4 | Angst-Suspense 4 | Darkness 2 | Humor 1 | Secondary Characters 4 | Drama-Conflict 3 | Mystery 2 | Twists 4 | Action 2 | Pacing Steady |
Dual POV | MF | BDSM | Part of a Series | Can be read as a Standalone | Overall 4 Stars

Milo Fierro is a hardcore Dom who loves his music. He's never had any problems making beautiful violins, or satisfying women until Alice comes back to town, which throws his world into chaos. She's a genius violinist, whose had a thing for him since she was younger, and now her new job has brought her home. And this time, she's determined to make him see that she's all grown up. This one of the few BDSM series that I truly love with all my heart, so it was hard to give it only 4 stars, but Milo pissed me off too much. (REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION!) So much so, that I never ever fell in love with him, which was sad, since he was an awesome secondary in previous books. Even his POV inner monologue didn't endear him to me either, and I can't tell you details because I don't believe in spoiler douchery. And while I did love Alice, I wanted to shake some sense into her more than once. So yeah, what can you do?! The sexy times were hardcore & hot, while there was a lot of drama & angst. I do truly LOVE Annabel Joseph's talented writing style, and it did shine, because even though I had such strong feelings about Milo, I still couldn't stop turning that pages, so I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Life's about change, and nothing ever stays the same. Not always a good, but with Milo and Alice, change is great.

I love entering into the worlds Annabel creates. Her characters are real and have flaws, they touch you. You can connect with Annabel's characters. Whether you live the D/s or not, you completely feel comfortable, reading these stories. Well sometimes a little uncomfortable, but those moments are intended.

i adore the connection between Milo and Alice, it was meant to be right from the christening he was forced to attend. These two characters grow throughout the story and its fascinating to watch. Of course it was great to hear from Fort, Jules, Devon and Ella and what they are up to now. Maybe we could get a novella later on to check on their lives. (HINT HINT WINK WINK)

I found myself just getting lost in this story, the ups and downs, ins and outs, and I'm not talking about The Gallery. Annabel's writing, was so smooth the story just flowed perfectly.

The ending was perfection!! Loved the gathering and the family finding out, the naming was just perfect!!

I look forward to more stories, more characters, more sex from Annabel.

This story melted my heart from the start as Milo who has been the George Clooney of his group of friends, sure he was going to be the consummate bachelor ready to live out his days in debauchery and artistry. Instead the Christmas party at his parents' house set a ball rolling that even God himself couldn't stop. I truly love reading this style of book it's truthful, raw, edgy and at the same time unapologetic. In this book Milo is thrust back into Alice's life, a childhood friend, and no matter how hard he tries he cannot extricate himself from her.  Could he be trying to get away so fast due to romantical feels? Could she be his forever?

I have loved reading these 3 books and seeing these man-childs evolve into something so much more.

I was give an ARC in exchange for a honest review from www.netgalley.com
