I read this book after my mother transitioned through Hospice Care this past summer. Her cancer was so aggressive and her decline so rapid, that it made my head spin. Seven Keys was a powerful tool for me even after the fact. It helped me understand what was going on during my mother's final days, as well as the hard work being put in behind the scenes by our Hospice team.
This book was well written and is easy to follow. It is full of useful information and guidance for for families, patients and other healthcare workers who may someday be a part of the Hospice Journey.
Easy to read with simple explanations. This book was written for those who are caregivers for their family members or friends.
This book simply explains each piece of what hospice is. Everything from the definition of hospice, to the roles of each team member, and what the terms "transitioning" and "actively dying" is. The author also encourages the caregivers to be advocates for the person they are caring for.
This was such a good read, I recently switched gears from being a med/surg pediatric nurse to a hospice nurse, I feel this book will help me deliver compassionate care to my hospice patients! Thank you!
A short and precise book about what can be a very stressful and emotionally charged time in a person's or family's life. An interesting approach with a lot of practical and tactfully worded advise for the people directly involved in the hospice process.
I think it's a good introduction to hospice and how it's managed in different perspective. Good for nursing students or for families that are experiencing hospice for the first time.
I’m a retired RN going home from the hospital to receive hospice care. This book is an inspiration and a great practical guide to dealing with end of life issues.
