Chicago's biggest drug trafficker J. Ross is fresh out of the pen, and looking to reclaim his spot atop the windy city's criminal hierarchy. But first, he concocts a deadly plan of revenge. Headed up by a vicious hired gun named Vudu. Vudu's marching orders are simple, travel to neighboring Milwaukee and obliterate the ones J. Ross holds responsible for his lengthy prison stint. Meanwhile, mil-town watches as its own gangland drama unfolds. Stepbrother and stepsister team Calboy and GP make their bank by ripping off dealers, while local hoods Kadeem and Gully see their flourishing drug business as a necessary evil. A stepping stone towards stardom, and better quality of life. But as all four inch closer to achieving their respective goals, loyalties begin to shift, and codes once considered sacred are suddenly breached. This, as the threat of J. Ross's newly-arrived henchman, looms large over everyone involved.
This was an interesting read. Even though, it took me some time to finish the story I was intrigued enough to read more. The delivery of the story was confusing at times due to not knowing what narration was taking place - first person or third person. I noticed a couple of spelling errors however it was not enough to stop the flow of the story. Once you are able to get past the narrative, you can remember the characters and the plot of the story. I'm not sure if the author was taking a chance with going with a different flow however with time and practice, he will get better.
To me, in the beginning, it was kind of slow, but once I started reading more, it was really good, I enjoyed it very much my favorite people are the girls it was so sad when they killed Cabot it touched me so much to see how the girls we're really upset, especially angel, but they all came together and they looking out for each other. That's what's important can't wait for the second
This gang right here was on it. They got it wherever they could get it. They never wanted to hurt anyone but if they had to they would . It was all about family. I hated Calboy had to go out that way but, Candy got her revenge, but now she doesn't see she in in another pickle. Loved it and hope to see a part 2.
I'm not gonna lie, reading this book was a struggle to me. I was so confused. It was a lot of characters and sometimes I didn't know who was speaking. I had to keep going back to the pages that I read previously to realize who was talking. Which that took up time. All in all it was ok.
Action from beginning to end. Love the way the guys stood together no matter what, but revenge and KARMA goes hand in hand and sometimes things don't goes as planned. Loved this book,it goes to be a pt 2, it just can't end like this. The real drama has just begun.
This book was confusing to me. One minute someone is talking in 1st person then the next they was talking in 3rd person. I guess this book was from Kadeem and GP point of view?
The book had me confused going from first person to third person. There were many times I had to go back and read again to get a better understanding. I'm going to wait and see how part 2 plays out. I'm still a Raymond Baker fan.
This book has a good storyline. The family stuck together but as always there's gonna be snakes and blood shed. What's gonna happen in the end? Will Candi get what's coming to her? Good story.
Wasn't really feeling this story. It has it good parts and its bad part. I felt sorry for Roc. Im still gonna read part 2 to see what Candy has to say..
