VIP College #2

Conflicted

Rate this book
VIP College scholarship recipient Aubrey is at times overwhelmed and disconcerted by the royalty, rockstars and billionaires she interacts with on a daily basis — especially the three handsome men of the VIP Literature Club:

Riot, the closed-off rock star. He has such a way with words in his poems. Could he be hiding a softer, sensitive side?

Jaeson, the dominant billionaire. His lessons in submission gave Aubrey the inspiration to continue her steamy romance stories, but her readers keep expecting more.

Luka, the regal prince. Could his surprisingly wicked side be what Aubrey needs to ramp up the heat in her writing?

Although half the student body adores Aubrey’s romance stories, nasty rumors have begun to spread about her sensual exploits. Does someone know about her relationships with Luka, Jaeson and Riot? Along with the rumors, Aubrey has to deal with the mysterious blackmailer who wants her to leave VIP College forever.

Will Aubrey lose the three men who have shown her such care, intimacy and passion? Or will she find a way to keep them all? Can three strong, powerful men like Luka, Jaeson and Riot ever really agree to share one girl?

1 girl 3 handsome men all in a relationship with this 1 girl. None of them have an issue sharing her. Someone finds out about her exploits and threatens to tell everyone unless she leaves the college. I have read other Athena Wright books before and loved them. I had issues connecting with the characters and feeling bad for them. I kept on thinking how much better the men can do by finding someone else. What kept me reading was wanting to know who the blackmailer is. She didn’t disappoint on that front. This may not be the type of book for everyone but it is a quick read. Thank you to Athena for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book and have volunteered to leave a review."

If you haven't already started the VIP college series I suggest you to do it now. Fast paced and consuming, VIP college has a very interesting and refreshing plot. It's way explicit and, have to say that Conflicted is very provocative too. It's a phenomenal reverse harem romance series with only one goal. To make you fall in love with its heroes and then, fulfill your smutty imagination in the best way possible. Are you in already?

The synopsis of Conflicted reveals what is going to happen in the second instalment of the series. Aubrey Ellis has to deal with the pressure of the nasty rumors around her sexual activities and the decision she might succumbed to the blackmailer's requests. The relationship with Her Boys is on the line. Her conflict emotions about the different state of affairs she has with them and her reputation maybe destroying their image are few of her concerns. Each one of them has a different personality, each one of them has different tastes but they only desire the same thing, Aubrey's acceptance.

Athena Wright and Vivi Clarke surpassed my expectations once again with Conflicted. The narration is riveting, the mystery well kept until the end, and Aubrey being one hell of a character. Her inner strength despite of the circumstances, her commitment to the others, even her weaknesses are very admirable and acceptable. I could literally feel all her emotions and turbulence. Best part of the story is the revelation of Riot, Luke and Jaeson true feelings. The authors using only Aubrey's telling, succeed to deliver the female side on that kind of theme, the reverse harem, making it feel more intense, more real. I'm very pleased with how the authors approach Aubrey's relationship with the three men. Even the sex scenes while intimidating and super hot have a sweet manner in them. I truly love these characters and have been connected with them so fast that I wish to read soon more stories coming from them. Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

Mini-Review:

Nerd Fantasy Part 2
The high drama continues in book two of VIP College. For the kiddos that may end up reading these books, the only parts you should take seriously are the following:

- Condoms are good for everyone!
- Exploring consensual sexuality is great!
- Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself.
- Open communication with people you love is always a good idea.
- While it's wonderful when everything works out dandy, please remember this is a fantasy and not the real world. Take the candy, smile and then actually live real life.
- Real life is more messy than any tale can spin but it's pretty cool.
- Real life can have amazingly moments like those in books.

I liked the way the plot dealt with defamation and slut shaming. It was not as cruel or brutal as it could have been depicted but the general idea was there.

Dnf- It just wasn't the book for me. I did not read book one but I don't think it would matter to me. I get that she's from a different income bracket but she's made to feel bad for it too often. There is no real development in each guy. Riot has a hard time because his dad doesn't like his music but not much more....

The text "blackmail" doesn't really amount to much and yet she loses mind each time. Even when whole school sees "results" it is pretty tame.

Nope, I can do something else today than forcse myself to continue when I'm not feeling any like for the story...but hey you might like it....

This feels like a tale of two books, a part of the book is full of Aubrey being filled with angst over the blackmail, worried about what people think of her, are the guys really willing to share and if she should stay or go. However realistic the angst is, it felt a little too much and lost the book a star. When Aubrey makes her decision it is glorious. I adored from that part on.

We get a little more background on the guys that make them feel a bit more fleshed out, but I still would have liked to see more. I do love that Aubrey has some strong, supportive female friends as well as her males. The blackmailer became very obvious long before Aubrey figured it out, but the payoff was still a lot of fun. I do't know if this is the last book, but if it ends here, I am satisfied.

Conflict is book 2 in the VIP College series. This book is not a standalone so you will need to read Accepted: VIP College (book 1) for the story to make sense. I have all of Athena Wright’s books (love the Hard Rock series!) and this is my 2nd (after VIP College 1) by Vivi Clarke. This is not my favorite book by Athena Wright, but it did hold my interest. It is a quick read that I would recommend for YAs rather then as an adult romance.

Even thought it is written as a YA novel, there is an adult theme of a reverse harem with explicit sexual content. Book 2’s sex scenes are mostly MF, but there is a MFM scene and a MMFM scene that is well done and not over the top or super graphic. This book does a good job of addressing “slut-shaming” - something that I think is all too common among women today.

While Aubrey, Luka, Jaeson, and Riot are like able there is not much depth to them. I would have liked to have seen more character development and I would have enjoyed learning more about each of their backgrounds. I really enjoyed how different Luka, Riot, and Jaeson were from each other - both personality-wise and in the bedroom. I will tell you that Riot is my favorite of the 3 and it is impossible not to love them. I really liked her 3 friends, Tiffany, Sunny, and Jessica and felt that they were great supporting characters.

Conflict, nor the previous VIP College book before it has a very complex storyline, but the intrigue is finding out who the blackmailer is and whether or not Aubrey will be kicked out of VIP once her secret is out. That is what made it interesting for me as at first I couldn’t figure out who it could be. I had a general idea, but it wasn’t as obvious to me until closer to the end. There is no cliffhanger and all of them get their HEAs.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Aubrey is attending her dream college, VIP College, she's the first freshman to get a position as a contributing writer in the VIP Literature Club, her story is immensely popular, and she is dating the Golden trio, Luca, a real-life prince, Jaeson, a business mogul, and Riot, a rock-n-roll star. It seems like she has it all but there's more. She's the school's only scholarship recipient making her stand out in an uncomfortable way among the rich and famous. Her position in VIP and her story have garnered her fans but also critics and even enemies. Ugly rumors follow here around campus, hurtful and embarrassing. And her relationship with the Trio, even though it is secret, has attracted someone's attention. A blackmailer. The stress is becoming too much for Aubrey. She's not sure if she can ever fit in on this campus. She can't believe that three beautiful, successful men could ever agree to share her. She's worried about failure. Maybe she tried to reach for too much, reach too high.

Conflicted picks up exactly where book one left off. The blackmailer is becoming more demanding, more aggressive. Aubrey is feeling more desperate but her men are determined to protect her. They each understand how perfect Aubrey is for each of them and how important it is that she is in their lives, even if she doesn't. The guys are all great but I admit that I love Riot the best of all. She also has her three girlfriends who each prove how awesome they are and how much they love Aubrey. Great to see females supporting females. I also loved when Aubrey started to take charge and own her life. It took a while to get there but that's understandable. Still, this girl came to college to make her dreams come true. Once on her way, she seemed to forget how strong she was and let the outside world corner her. She's smart, talented, kind, and beautiful. Money and fame overshadow her confidence. It's nice when she starts to thrive again.

There's plenty of angst, sexy times and a bit of a mystery. I figured out early on who the blackmailer was but wanted confirmation that I was correct (I was) and the reason behind the blackmailing. Was it pure jealousy or were there other darker motives? This storyline wraps up nicely, no cliffhanger. It's the perfect Happy for now ending!

Conflicted. That's exactly what Aubrey is feeling. She loves being at VIP college. She has made new friends, some closer than others, and is working on accomplishing her goals. But while her writing has kept the VIP lit club open, it has also brought about a lot of unwanted attention. Stares, whispers, rumors. When you are already the odd man out being a scholarship student, having any negative attention is hard to deal with. And then there are the texts. Who wants her gone so bad that they are to the point of stalking her? Jaeson, Riot and Luka have comforted her but is it enough? Should she stay and endure the hostility or go back home and accept defeat?

This is the second book in the VIP college series. The titles tell us exactly what to expect in the books. Book one was about showing up to a college of rich and famous people and finding a way to be accepted. Book two is conflicted. Aubrey gets a lot thrown at her in this book. Although things seem to be working in her favor in a lot of ways, she has to put up with a lot of negative too. The guys are all very supportive and we get to spend some one on one time with each of them. We learn more about them outside of the VIP college as well. Aubrey has some decisions to make and they aren't to be made lightly. It's not only her future at stake but the guys as well.

I enjoy this little series. I can't say that I'm in love with it which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. It's a very well written story, the characters are great. We have some super hot sexy times. I really liked the mystery we had thrown in about the blackmailer. I had my suspicions about who it was and I'm glad we got that solved in this book. I look forward to see what these ladies come up with in the next one.

Talk about hot, steamy and so swoon worthy - Aubrey is one lucky lady!

Rating: 😍😍😍😍😍

*ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review*

Release Date: June 1st, 2018

Let me start off by saying, you need to read the first book (Accepted) before you read Conflicted. After all it is the beginning of Aubrey, Luka, Jaeson, and Riot's epic relationship. This book had a little something of everything and I'm not just talking about the steamy scenes. We continue on from the previous book with Aubrey's stalker situation and it isn't until near the end we find out who this horrible person is. Aubrey fights against bullying and harassment and you just feel her conflict of what is best for her and also how she wants to protect her men from any backlash. It takes a strong woman to put up with all of that and come out with her head held high and middle fingers flying for all the world to see.

Aubrey's boys are unique men in their own right and they can set the sheets on fire all on their own.. can you imagine what might happen if they join forces even in part.. let alone as a whole unit.. get your fire extinguishers ready because there is a book to be read that will leave those sheets in ashes! Vivi and Athena are both amazing writers and this book is just another example of what magic can look like when you let your fantasies and imagination run wild. Nothing beats a fight that brings everyone together and coming out stronger then before. Loved it! Is it too soon to ask for more?

Conflicted - Athena Wright

One girl, three men. I already loved the world in book one of the VIP College series, and I was elated to receive the second book in the series too.

The story is relatively simple: Aubrey attends VIP college. She writes a very steamy hot tale that takes the boring Literature Club out of a rut while at the same time attracting the attention of the board of the literary club: a prince, a CEO, and a rockstar. What makes it even better is that all these three men want her and even non-exclusive. During all this romance, a nasty blackmailer is stalking Aubrey and pressuring her to leave the college.

I loved the story, and I read it with a big smile on my face. The blackmailing is somewhat subtler than in part one while the romance is a hundred times hotter. Because what is better than a romantic scene with one hot dude? Exactly, a romantic scene with two hot dudes at the same time! And yes, the story is slightly flat and the characters are not that well-rounded, but we do get a fair amount of background information, and it was basically all I needed to know.

It seems like this is the last book in the series, but I hope it's not. I want to know more, I want to know what Aubrey's going to do later in life, I want more hot scenes with these three gorgeous men! I enjoyed reading the story, and I will definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre. Now I just wish for part three in the series.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This one's the fairytale, the coming of age, and the HEA all rolled into one. Very well done. In this 2nd installment of the VIP College, we see Aubrey dealing with a vindictive stalker who is slowly escalating his/her threats. We see her three men, Riot (the rock star), Jaeson (the billionare), and Luka (the prince), rally to try and protect her and to stop this stalker. With Aubrey's reputation at the school slowly being tarnished, she faces the dilemma whether or not she wants to stick it out at the college or even whether she wants to continue risking her heart with her three men. I really loved Conflicted . It's 3 mini POV epilogues by the guys just completed this story in such a satisfying way. It has a fantastic writing style, an interesting plot (if slightly predictable), three scorchingly hot successful college age men (just go with the it:), very very tastefully written sexy scenes, and an all around HEA for all involved. This is a book that contains everything you need to happily lose yourself for an enjoyable hour or two in fairytale land. I mean that in the best way. I am happy to have received an arc copy of this book to review.

Being book 2 in the VIP College series, this book is NOT a standalone, you will need to read Accepted: VIP College (book 1) for the story to make sense.

I wish there was more depth &/or character development to the female MC Aubrey besides being a scholarship student that is an excellent writer. However, in this book, we do get little snippets of what each of the male characters Luka, Jaeson, and Riot’s lives are like outside of the college. I really enjoyed how different Luka, Jaeson, and Riot were from each other - both in personality & in the bedroom.

The book has upped the intrigue with the blackmailer & whether or not Aubrey will be kicked out of VIP once her secret is out. There is no cliffhanger and all of them get their HEAs.

There is an adult theme of a reverse harem with explicit sexual content. Book 2’s sex scenes are mostly MF, but there is a MFM scene and a MMFM scene that is well done and not over the top. This book also does a good job of addressing “slut-shaming” and women supporting other women.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Aubrey´s back. She still write her hot romance story for the schools newspaper. She have three hot guts who help her with how to write the romance part. Luka (the prince), Jaeson (the rich businessman) and Riot (the rock star). Everything should be perfect but with a dead gunning for her, her peers talking trash and a stalker sending threats her life feels like it´s falling to pieces. Will she fall apart or rise to the challenge and take on the ones against her?

I liked this one way better than the first one. Mostly because of the seriously steamy scenes. We get a better understanding in to the characters.

What I have a hard time with is Aubrey´s constant wailing, insecurities and crying. She is just too weak... And I don´t understand why people think she ´s this crazy slu**y girl because of it? Seems way judgmental.

Still if you like the first one then you´ll definitely like this one.

The Vip College drama continues at a feverish pace in the second book Conflicted!
The Blackmailer ups their game, while Prince Luka, Domnering Jaeson, and Quiet Riot keep weaving that magic spell over the insecure Aubrey.. Or is it the other way around?
These Royalty, Rich musically inclined brothers have sworn to protect her from whoever is out to ruin her scholarship at the prestige college..
Can they figure out who is behind it all before Aubrey's scholarship ends up revoked and lose her when they have just met her?
Well then! Seemed like everything was amped up a few notches in this book! Sexiness, drama mystery, and intrigue! The passionate fast moving storyline hooked me from the very start! I loved the guys even more during this book! Aubrey-- eh, she drove me nuts with her insecurities.. but thats just me!
Sweet, full of heart, and redemption making it had to finish in one sitting read!
I look forward to VIP #3!!

My goodness, I could only wish to have but one, never mind three gorgeous guys wanting to be with me. I would be thrilled to just have one. I do see the main character's dilemma about which one to choose. The main female character has other dilemmas besides which man to choose; she has some serious problems with an anonymous person threatening her and wreaking havoc in her life. She has also been blessed with three female friends who are totally supportive of her throughout all the negativity she is being subjected to. There is maturation shown on the part of the main female character as she learns to be stronger and face her battles herself. Of course there is still her romances she is cultivating to contend with. Oh to have such problems ... sigh ... Great characterizations but I would expect no less of Ms. Wright. Good story with mystery, angst, love and some panty-melting scenes ... oh my! :)

I received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest review.

A great second book to the series, it's a shame it's over though as I would love another book for these four once they've graduated. I can hope right? I did think this was a good ending though and all the loose ends were tied up. We discover who the blackmailer was, and I did have this particular person in my suspicions. I was glad with the way everything was wrapped up between Aubrey, Jaeson, Luka and Riot there were some bumps along the way But they managed to sort through it and become stronger. I liked the way this book dealt with a subject that is sadly all to real of the slut shaming of women, it was well handled and portrayed and I think the authors deserve credit for that. A five star read for me, I enjoyed it and I'm going to hold out hope for just one more book in the series.

The idea of how much money was spent on just a simple dance with a bachelor was too much. Even very rich people would not really spend half a million or MORE for ONE DANCE. Seriously?

The blackmail plot was kind of interesting, but once again the MC was weak throughout the whole experience. She never even really got threatened by anything real or anything scary, and yet she cried and cowered and was just generally barely on this side of annoying. The ending for the whole thing was very anticlimactic as well, IMO.

It seemed to tie up nicely at the end, and she did have ONE moment of pure strength where the dean was concerned. Yet, it was almost too much considering all of her previous behavior. It simply wasn't believable.

The book isn't bad, though, so I will still read the next one. I just hope her newfound strength lasts for whatever drama is cooked up for the next book.

Loved it

So pleased with the ending of this book. Firstly girl power, I'm so glad that not only does she have her men but she also has her amazing trio of girly friends who help her and lift her up. They essentially straighten her crown and it was nice to read. I did guess the stalker but glad the story has concluded in a decent manner for now. I'm also so happy she stood up to the Dean and didn't have the guys do it, I think it'll be a major turning point in her confidence as the books progress. I'm super looking forward to the next one and im loving how tenacious the fmc is, it's nice to not read about a damsel in distress and to show woman that we do hope power.

Better than the first

There were many improvements in this second book. I enjoyed many of the interactions between the MFC and her men (not to mention there was some serious heat). I really enjoyed seeing more of her friends and a focus outside of the just the guys and the “blackmail”. The characters especially the FMC feel very immature but have grown from the first book. I'm looking forward to seeing more growth and watching her come into herself and gain confidence in who she is and what she wants.

I really enjoyed this book. Having been absolutely hooked on the last book, I had to make time to read this one. Aubrey is trying to balance school, her guys and the stalker is back. Aubrey spends most of this book doubting herself and her relationship. At the beginning I wanted her to stop whining, but it really puts into perspective types of issues anyone would have in that situation. I did feel this book a little rushed and explicit scenes weren’t as detailed or memorable. That beings said, still totally worth the read.

**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** The story & rumors continue although the envious "villian" is revealed (and was painfully obvious since the first book). We also see the 3 heroes connecting more with Aubrey & have an actual harem scene. The story holds my interest with Aubrey & her interactions with each man but then when it switches to the actual problem of the rumors & blackmail, it comes off as stupid high school BS which makes me just roll my eyes & skip to the next part. This is supposed to be taboo yet it seems everybody is fine as is, even with the supposed rumors & judgement flying about. Don't really see what the problem is going to be in the final book but guess I'll wait to give it a shot.

College RH

I loved book 1 and was excited when book 2 came out. Honestly I was a bit disappointed. The blackmailer was completely predictable😫 and the self destructive struggle Aubrey had going on the entire book took away from what I thought could've been a great story. I didn't like the "love" everyone felt when there was not enough relationship building in the story. It seemed like this book was rushed, even the epilogue at the end were weird because it looked back not forward.
I'm sorry but I won't be reading book 3

Wow! And yay! And wow!

Great second book! Although VIP College would be very intimidating to go to, if you could end up with any of those three guys Aubrey has, wouldn't you?!?! And not only that, college is all about making great friends like she has in Tiffany, Jessica and Sunny. The characters twists in this book were pretty darn good too. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book!

So good!! Will we get any more from this fearsome foursome? I hope so. I loved reading their story and all the gang at VIP college.

Or is someone only pretending to be close to her to get what they want? Will she be able to rise above or crumble under the pressure? You'll have to dive into this book to find out.

Excellent!

This was a great sequel! We got to finally find out who the blackmailer was and it was so unexpected but it made perfect sense. It was wonderful to see them all finally voice their feelings and commit to the relationship. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Aubrey and her men in the next book.
