Spending the summer on an island off the coast of Maine, sixteen-year-old Evan grows closer to her grandmother and gains new maturity and self-confidence.
A brief coming of age story. Evan, short for Evangeline, spends the summer on an island at her grandmother’s house maturing in her relationship with her Gram, quilting, learning to dive, working on a fishing boat and making friends and a possible romantic relationship.
I couldn't decide whether I should rate it like 2/5 or 3/5 because it's not really thrilling or meaningful. For me, it's rather boring and simple. Btw I've got some kinda "Vanishing Girls" vibes. I dunno why... Probably because in both cases there were girls who were applying for jobs during the summer vacation.
