Rate this book
A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS…
Lilly has been waiting a long time for her knight in shining armor to arrive. Already betrayed by one man, she’s hesitant to trust another. Yet from the first moment she and Bran meet she senses he is different. He may be a scoundrel with the devil’s own smile, but when she’s wrapped in his arms she’s never felt safer.

A THIEF IN SHINING ARMOR…
A charming rogue with a heart of gold, Bran is immediately taken with Lilly. He’s tempted to keep her as his mistress, but he knows the shy, velvet-eyed beauty deserves better than a thief. Determined to leave her alone for her own good, he nearly succeeds…until she comes knocking at his door late at night, her eyes glassy with terror and her dress covered in blood.

A DANGEROUS PASSION…
After nearly becoming the latest victim of a crazed madman that has been terrorizing London, Lilly can think of no one else to turn to except for Bran. He may have broken her heart, but he’s the only man she trusts with her life. As they try to outwit a murderer at his own dangerous game, Lilly and Bran’s faith in one another will be pushed to its limits. But they’ll also discover a love stronger than they ever dared hope for…if The Slasher doesn’t kill them first.

First half was repetitive while the "danger" felt rushed.... 3.75 stars

While the characters were unique and dynamic, I felt the pacing of this novel could've been executed better. The first half of the novella--when the hero and heroine first meet and fall into lust--went on for longer than necessary and as a result became repetitive and tedious. There was nothing moving the plot forward other than the sense that things were too good to be true.

Then the breakup happens and suddenly we are thrust into the second phase which was over too quickly. The danger arrived, the MCs were thrust back together, and all love was restored in less than 30%. If you want to read a much better version of this trope (hero who is the only one capable of saving the heroine after their ugly split) then I recommend I KISSED A ROGUE by Shana Galen, a flawlessly written novel!

This book is a light, pleasant read and it has some nice sexual tension between the H and h. There are some detailed sex scenes which are quite steamy.
I was so disappointed with the ending. After 10 months, the heroine finally capitulates and goes to see the hero, after he shattered her heart by ending their love affair in a callous and cold manner. And then, she gets mad at him again (cause he slept with a barmaid) but eventually forgives him. And then that’s it. No wedding, no make up sex scene, just a ‘I always loved you’. End of book. After all the wonderful sexual tension throughout the book and then an abrupt ending. This happened in the last book too. Why leave us with a rushed ending, no love scene? I know she can write awesome love scenes so why are we left wanting.
Btw, Grant and Jules are mentioned several times in this book but we still don’t get to see any of their wedding (which was missing in the last book too…). Sigh.

This is book four in the Bow Street Brides series. It is the story of Bram, and Lilly. I thought this couple was well matched, and I wanted to see them end up together. The problem is that he is a very successful thief. He has been mentioned in other books, where a group of young orphans, grew up together, and have been involved with bow street runners, including falling in love. This book also has a slasher loose, and he has attempted to kill Lilly more than once. I was not thrilled that this is a cliffhanger. I hate when writers use this ,to get us to want to buy the next book. It just left us stuck in the story, not explaining how a wife of a runner is murdered, or if Bram finds another job, that does not leave him ,in the runners sights . It did not even go over a stab wound to the chest, was it treated or not, and it doesn't really give us the closing for Lilly, and Bram. They are in love, but ????? The slasher was wounded but ???? 3.5 for me. This author needs to complete at least the couple's future. Having a slasher loose for the runners to chase is enough of a pull. Great start, and middle than ended , without a real ending. I hope this couple gets their story figured out along with the next set of characters in the next book. I hate loose ends......

Pretty darn good read.
I read book 1-3 but didn't really remember them so picked up book 4 to check the series out again.
Not super steamy, which I like, but a really good book.

A book that starts with its first two characters named Bran and Yeti. Wtf.

I DNFed around 20%. A novella needs to be snappy and this one was already stalling out.

And the writing is weird. Here’s an example: “...Bran—the name, for all that it only had four letters, suited him perfectly”. Like, whaaa? What does the number of letters in a name have to do with anything??

Ugh, I just can’t with this one.

A Dangerous Passion

Here is another wonderful story from Jillian Eaton. It's a story about two people that are afraid of falling in love but realized they had nothing to be afraid about. I hope you will enjoy reading this story as much as I did.

Wonderful!♡

I have fall in love with the Bow Street Bride series! And this was a short, but fun read. It can be read as a stand-alone but I think readers will have more fun when you read all of the books in order, and you'll get the most out of it!♡

I think basically my only complaint is that I wish this book was longer because I really enjoyed this couple. It was fast paced and heartwarming in some moments.

Bran is first mentioned the book before this one but this one is his story. I love how he was very protective of Lilly! But I think the reader will fall in love with him too. I do wish he was developed a little bit more but, I am completely satisfied!

Lilly, she might look tender and sweet but, she has a few thorns. She knows how to defend herself after a man in her past had hurt her and left her alone to fend for herself. And she's been working as a barmaid alone and miserable until she walks into Bran's life. And I love how she was able to find happiness even if it was a little tough for her!

I highly enjoyed the story so much and the back of the book has me eager to read the next that's coming out of the Bow Street Bride series! Cannot wait!♡♡♡

I have enjoyed this whole series but this story left me hanging without answers. Bran & Lily got their HEA but did Bran get an honest job? I also hope we will find out what happens or happened to Kent.

Bran, the thief that grew up on the streets, has managed to buy a townhouse, remodel & furnish it & still have plenty of money is a self acknowledged rake. Lily came from a good family in a small town & she went to London with a man she thought she loved. She was very young, they had no money & he began mistreating her & eventually threw her to the streets with none of her clothes or money. She had been working as a barmaid & during a ruckus was taken upstairs with rape threatening her.
Bran rescues er from the bar & takes her to stay at his house.

Their adventures as a couple starts here with trust, attempted murder, becoming a mistress, falling in love, splitting up, humor and finally a HEA.

I really like this story as we'd met both characters in the last book and they were perfect for each other. There was mystery, a killer on the loose, the wonderful Bowstreet Boys and love between Bran and Lilly. Towards the end I was pretty mad at something Bran had done but then there was an HEA. Wished it had been longer.

Of course, just like the others, there are many things needing editing.

A wonderful and engaging story in the Bow Street Brides series by Jillian Eaton. A Dangerous Passion doesn't disappoint. Lilly and Bran give you everything and more and your classic damsel in distress and a thief with a good heart give in to their passions to deliver a well deserved happily ever after.

Excellent fourth book to the series Bow Street Brides. I highly recommend reading the whole series. Jillian Eaton grabs from the first page until the very last page. You can’t put to book down . I hope that she continue the series with books for Colin and Ian Ferguson. Would love to read about them .

A thief stole a heart

Nothing is so swoon worthy then a rake who falls in love! The story is not finished. Need to know what happened to Kent? Does Bran get an honest job? Love this series can't wait for the next one!

Bran Sullivan & Lilly James's story was destined to be. He enjoyed his free care existence. She was fighting the consequences of her mistaken choice. Together they will be forced to confront what truly matters in life. Enjoyed this story very much! Highly Recommend. Happy Reading.

A great series marches on

This is another brilliant story in this great series. This steamy plot is full of emotional turmoil and suspense, and sees another couple overcome their fears to achieve eventual happiness.

This is the first book in the series that doesn't feature a Bow Street runner. I do not recommend reading this book as a stand-alone. Nevertheless, it was steamy and action-filled.

More satisfying than most novellas but not compelling enough writing to reach the rest of the series.
