Mmm, I think part of why I don't really like/love this series is that the main tie-in to SS's world seems to be Tex... now, do not get me wrong. I love love love Tex... he is right up there with Chace Keaton, Mitch Lawson, Aiden Graves, Quinn Sullivan & Dan O'Malley for me... but, the only time is was really physically present in SS's world was in his own story... other than that, he chose to be back of house, working on his own with no need to answer to anyone. After all, he had markers from all sorts of people all around the world.
In this series, it feels like he is part of the government... working in a sanctioned environment. Now, Tex was a SEAL... and once a SEAL always a SEAL... but he made a deliberate choice. And I don't get why he is always nearby... he moved to Pennsylvania so that Melody would be close to her friends and where she had always lived. He wouldn't uproot his family and stay for an indefinite amount of time on the other side of the country. And what about Baby? See, this is why I have issues... it doesn't flow cos I am always feeling little bumps that irritate and stop me fully immersing. And I really genuinely do not understand how he would not know about his cousin. That is unbelievable. Tex is a whiz who ticks & crosses every single box.
