Note: This story does end on a cliff hanger. It's part 1 of a 3 book series.
Lexy Timms used to be one of my favorite writers, I would read anything she wrote. But The last few offerings have been sub par and like so many writers she has jumped on the bandwagon of "let's drag it out with filler and make it a multiple book tale". The story of Kellie and Ash had potential. It was wordy and filled with a lot of "filler" carp that had no bearing on the story Ms. Timms was trying to impart. The beginning was great, then it lagged in the middle with lots and lots of unnecessary stuff. But the ending was typical Timms, a CLIFFHANGER. So now you expect me to buy book two? But, wait for it, there's also a book THREE. Just tell the story already. Are you really that greedy and think that highly of yourself that you expect your readers to put up with this crap? I honestly don't care how Ash and Kallie's story ends. Whom ever she winds up with, I wish them luck putting up with her whiney, indecisive, personality. Good luck to you Ms. Timms, but you won't be getting any more of my hard earned money.
Chiodo scaccia chiodo, dicono.
Lascio a voi scoprirlo naturalmente!
Kallie è ragionevolmente triste, confusa e arrabbiata.
This just wasn’t for me. For someone who claims they aren’t a gold digger Kallie mentions having no money worries a lot in the start whilst talking about her impending marriage. Then making money (if you have none or too much) one of the main storylines left me feeling blah.

It was ok. There were a few scene jumps that confused me, but otherwise it was a good story. Kailee gets cheated on on her wedding day. She goes on her honeymoon alone. She meets a cute bartender and they hang out and have some hot sex. They both start to fall for one another until she finds out he’s rich and leaves. It ends in a mild cliffy, but it’s not enough to read the next 2 for me.

Kallie should have known that everything would go wrong at her wedding. The bad dreams should have given her an inkling that something wasn't right but, then, would you expect to find your husband-to-be in a closet having his way with the wife of the best man? She didn't need the hassle of James - the man wasn't faithful and treated Kallie as if she were below him. She makes up her mind as to what her next step will be when she reminds herself that her honeymoon cottage is still waiting for her. It's non-refundable and she has every intent of using it. Great choice! Checking out the beach bar, she spots a remarkably handsome bartender, or at least that's what she thinks he is. His name is Ash, and his eye was on Kallie from the moment she walked into the bar. He's a wealthy playboy, a good guy, but wary of getting too close to any woman he meets on the island. His family has so much money that they own half the east coast, but Ash is going to keep that information quiet. Rather than a one-night stand, Kallie and Ash choose to spend the entire next day together, something Ash has never done before. Kallie is enjoying herself more than she ever has and doesn't want to see him go. But a secret comes to light after their night on the yacht and, even though it wouldn't be a problem for most people, it is for Kallie because of her history with James. A lie? By omission, perhaps, but it's a lie, nonetheless. My heart broke for Ash because he already knew that she could be "it" for him. Taking an early flight off the island is what she needs to do, but is it what she wants to do? Once home, someone's pounding at her door and, sure enough, James has come to ask her for one more chance. (NOOO!) She's starting to break and is thinking about giving him a chance when, there's pounding at the door, again. There, with a huge bouquet of tropical flowers, is Ash! A perfect spot for a cliffhanger, but I want to know what happens next! The narration is beautifully done by Hayden Hall. The characters' voices are clear and distinct with inflection and tone that brings them to life.
On her wedding day Kallie finds out her soon to be husband was caught in a comprising position with the best mans wife . She decides to go on the honeymoon by herself where she meets Ash who she presumes is just a normal guy working as a barman on the island . When she finds out Ash is mote than he’s portrayed she feels lied to and goes home to try and get over him. I loved listening to this the chemistry between Kallie and Ash was there from the minute they met and I’m hoping book 2 brings a HEA .
This book such a fascinating story. One that's been done before but somehow this story felt new. A bride is jilted by her fiancé who is caught having an affair with one of her bridesmaids. After some convincing by her best friend, she goes on her honeymoon alone where she meets Ash. A surfer bum who is determined to strike up a vacation fling. What happens when the feelings turn into something more?
I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read that ended in a cliffhanger. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Another bookbub gift which allowed me to discover this author and while the time away while traveling. The book lets itself be read, but Kallie's aversion to all rich men because her fiancé was a jerk seems a bit immature. Also, what is the allure of food fights?? Especially when the food in question is outrageously expensive? Just as I don't seem to possess the prank gene, I am also totally baffled and left cold by the joy of smearing people with food. A rather strange detail, Timms must have changed the name of the heroine because in the blurb I read she is referred to as Ava.
What the hell. I can’t believe this. I don’t like cliffhangers at all. Aside from that I loved reading/ listening to this book. I have to say that although James and Ash comes from wealth they are poles apart in the way they treat Kalli. I love how Kalli’s becoming her own self and let her inner self shine. Mostly I love chemistry between Ash and Kalli it’s amazing. I am curious as to which man she will choose to give a second chance. Truly looking forward to reading the next book.
First time I've heard this narrator or listened/read this author.
I loved the narrator, kept you engaged and performed the accent well. I did increase the speed to listen to it, I like a fast pace that way.
I enjoyed the story, it was full of steamy bits and I enjoyed the characters. I read some reviews complaining about the cliffhanger, but it's indicated in the description so I'm not sure why people were surprised...
An amazing romantic novel dramatic from page one, great pace reading and for adult readers. Limited offer from @bookbub pretty Kallie and sinful Ash are electric the action of dealing with situations. To minimize disruption in life moving forward, diving into the ocean feeling the need to allow the sea water baptizing a person. The imagery of the scenery of a honeymoon setting was simply a dream combination. Such a good, funny, romantic and adult book.
What a ride!! Kallie has s nightmare before her wedding nuptials, the unforgivable. To help her heal and recover, she goes on her honeymoon alone and meets an amazing man, Ash. Ash is a local on the island with a secret of his own but is captivated by Kallie. What starts off as a holiday fling, turns into more until Kallie finds out Ash’s secret.
I enjoyed this book. I have read a lot of this author's books & she's good. Kallie goes on her honeymoon alone & she meets Ash. When she finds out he's not who he said he was it's to close to home for her. She runs back home with a broken heart. Thanks.
Kallie's predicament is one no woman ever wants to face, but most of us have, maybe not to that extent, but some version of it! I like her way of dealing with the aftermath though!
I like the story but not the ending. I understand cliffhangers but this was not a cliffhanger to me. It just ended oddly. To me it felt unfinished. I know there is a book two to continue on with James and Ash vying for Kallie’s heart. Whether I read it, I don’t know.
Potential, so much potential. Writing style was an easy read. Just soooo over the trope of “heart-o-gold good girl” not interested in $$ but hooked up with the “billionaire bad-boy” who is redeemed by true love.
Wedding day blew up in her face and Callie decided to go on her non refundable Honeymoon alone. She met a surfer guy and was falling for him when she found out he was like her ex. Great story, good read.
I couldn't finish it. The grammar and spelling were atrocious. Got to 26% and deleted it. Just awful. I'm thinking of deleting all the other books I have by this author too, not sure I'm brave enough to give them a go.
Good story line but...WAY too many pages of explicit, second by second sex that would make a pornographer blush and only added many dozen pages to the book. Totally not necessary as the storyline was interesting but that simply became boring after half a dozen blow by blow descriptions.
Sometimes something that starts out as a heart break turns out to be a blessing in disguise. What is true in the morning will not be the same in the afternoon.
Multiple books for 1 story, don't like that especially when they don't warn you ahead of time. I liked the story until the end now I have to pay for more books if I want the ending. Nope not going to do it!
WOW. Just WOW. This book was a touching slice of life, you will genuinely care about the characters, and the story will draw you in and keep you. I'll be checking more by this author.
This is the first book I've read by this author and the first book in this series. I loved the storyline and the characters. It is a fast paced and well written book filled with love.
