Had a woman I loved. We were supposed to run away together.
She didn't show. Never saw her again.
Lesson learned.
My family worked for her father on their ranch.
When she stood me up I made a vow to conquer the world, come back, and buy their piece of sh*t property and sell it off for parts.
She turned me into the man I am today.
I loved her with all my heart. She ripped it out of my chest and stomped on it.
Now, I'm a partner at a powerhouse law firm in Dallas. I don't even think of her. I'm done with women. They're nothing but sexual transactions in the bedroom. I get off and move on.
Imagine my surprise when Jenna Jacobi strolls into my law firm and asks me to handle her divorce.
I should turn her away or pawn her off on some junior attorney.
I was done with her a long time ago.
But something deep down inside of me filters back to the surface. No matter how hard I fight it, she still gets to me. We were meant to be together forever.
I can't let her hurt me again. Idiots repeat history. I'm a different man now. A cold bastard. I can't be reformed.
I'm Jaxson Parker, Attorney at Law.

Alex hails from the Midwest and currently resides in New Orleans.
He enjoys writing steamy romance but more importantly he enjoys the “research” required to produce the steamy scenes. If you like filthy-mouthed, possessive alpha heroes and steamy romance, you’ve come to the right place!
Jaxson's story had a lot of drama and action, but I didn't liked it as much as liked Brodie and Weston's stories. The main reason I didn't like it, is because Jaxson is reunited with Jenna and Jenna is still married. The four star's are for the epilogue, which I really enjoyed!
Unfortunately this series is going down hill for me. First book, 5 stars, loved it. Second book 4 stars, was pretty good, this book 3 stars because there was no real connection for me. I guess these books are just what you need every now and then, but read together they get a bit repetitive. These are just fun, quickies with very little depth, which is fine if that is what you are in the mood for. I will be moving on now.
This was an extremely quick read and I am excited to be getting regular quick fixes from Alex Wolf. This is Jaxson Parker and Jenna Jacobi’s story. This was an oh so sexy, second chance at love passionate story that is an extremely hot read. Unfinished business, has never been so scorching. Many years ago Jaxson and Jenna were planning to run away together. Fast forward 13 years and the past has not been what either of them planned. Jaxson is now a lawyer and one heck of a player, whilst Jenna was stuck in a loveless, violent marriage. When Jenna comes to Jaxson to help her get a divorce, he is determined to pass the case to someone else, that is until he sees her again. What a roller coaster of a ride this story was with so much passion, hurt, anger and above all else love.
The chemistry between them was hot and heavy and I was so glad that they got the happily ever after they deserved, particularly Jenna.
This was a quick fun read, though not my favorite of the series. I don't usually read second chance love stories, but this blurb intrigued me and I thought I'd give it a go. There was a little bit of everything, though it all did seem to resolve itself rather quickly, like her first degree burns, but alas, that seems to be a common problem with many authors. Wanting to wrap everything up rather quickly.
I liked the H and he did a turn around when he finally understood the truth about why the h left him high and dry. Still, he pushed things much too quickly between them for a 'battered woman'. And the way she suddenly turned into a perverted sex kitten, given him a hand job under a table while having dinner with his friends, was not only ridiculously unbelievable but an eye roller for sure.
Also, I had a HUGE problem with the fact that the author is trying to make us believe that in 13 years, the h never had any kind of sex with her douche-bag husband. Sorry, but this is just totally un-fucking-believable and almost made me dnf the book, but I soldiered on. Not sure if the author wrote it this way because he's a guy, and god forbid the woman have intercourse with another man while the H is off banging anything with tits and ass, but there's no way in hell an abusive husband like the h had, would have NOT consummated that marriage, whether she was willing or not. For that reason and some other 'male high-handed' liberties taken in this book, I couldn't go any higher than a 3.
I enjoyed reading Player in a Suit, it is a short story about second chances. Jaxson and Jenna fell in love in high school and were planning to run away together but Jenna's father had a different idea. He wants Jenna to marry a man shes never met in order to save their ranch. For many years she is put through hell in order to please her husband, but one day things change and she wonders if she can have a second chance with the love of her life.
Jaxson had his heart broken many years ago, and hasn't had any use for it since. He doesn't do relationships and love. His many interactions with women are purely physical. Don't get hung up on him, and if you do, sorry for your luck. Jenna left him waiting for her thirteen years ago, and totally disappeared from his life. Jaxson was determined to make something of himself and let Jenna and her rich, snobby family know it was him that destroyed them. He had that plan for many years, until he began to enjoy his life and make himself over into an unfeeling, rich, hot AF, quite skilled with the ladies, attorney. He had so much money, he'd never spend it all; owned an upscale apartment building with his best friends who were all partners in Dallas' most prestigious law firm. Life is good.
Until Jenna shows up out of the blue, needing help. Jax's first instinct is to rip her to shreds and show her what he made of himself despite her leaving him high and dry. But Jax discovers that the kind of love he and Jenna had as teenagers runs a lot deeper than he thought. He almost immediately goes into protective mode, and vows to help her. This story had quite a few feels, and it was great seeing Jaxson get a dose of kryptonite he teased his best friends of being afflicted with. I love the banter and love between the guys, and their women are so strong, and are respected and well care for. I'm really loving this series, and now I'm checking to see what adventure awaits Max.
A good 'quickie' read. I enjoyed the plot line of the book. They were teenage lovers but something happened that caused them to split up (leaving both heartbroken.) 13 years later, she goes to him (a lawyer) to start divorce procedures from her abusive husband. He wants to hate her, but can't. When they are together, it's like no time has passed. They both want to have their second chance, but until she gets divorced, not much can happen... and her husband is not making things easy.
This is a quick read (about 2 hours or less,) so the characters and story don't get too complicated or convoluted, but there's enough there to give them life. There is some steamy sexual content, and some mildish violence. It's pretty emotionally steady. Not a lot of up and downs. There's not a lot of humor, but it's not a sad dark, or heavy book (though there is a serious subject matter involved.) The book ends at around the 30% mark, as there is some bonus material included. This is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. Each book features a different man from this group of partners/friends... and the women they fall for. Due to the sexual content, I would recommend this for mature readers.
This was the weakest story line in this series, in my view, that is. I understand that Alex Wolf (I always thought was a woman, now all falls into place - the author is a male - I should have known by the constant sex scenes in a some what flimsy story)... Hurdles were got over too quickly, in fact some disappeared completely. Leonard could have been padded out a bit more especially when he returned to get his wife.... And after the house burnt down, Jenna got over her burns within 2 days...WHAT! Even the slightest burns take a week or more to quieten down especially when water hits them.... Then within 3 months, theres a new building sprung up where the house used to be....WHAT, again! I KNOW this is fiction, but lets have some sort of realistic time scale here please. I didn't bother reading Professor's Pet, (bonus book) got to chapter 3 and that was enough, mainly I think because I am British and relationships between Teacher and student, is a No No... and not to be encouraged. What sort of message is this sending out to all our young adults and teacher come to think of it? There has to be professional standards, no matter what age. Sorry Alex (author).... I am normally a 4 - 5* girl, so I am very disappointed to be giving a 3*
Jaxson didn’t do love and feelings not since Jenna in high school. They did everything together. It’s is a get off and then go your way kind of man. One of his hook ups during a steamy section said she loved him. He did everything he could to get out of the door quickly. Jenna was from a wealthy family. She feel head over heels for Jaxson. The night they planned to run away together her treated her like a transaction. She was forced to marry a man from a wealthy family. If she refused Jax son’s family would be thrown on the street. She was in a loveless abusive marriage for thirteen years and she has had enough. Jaxson never expected to see her again. He is the man she created cold and unfeeling. When he saw her all the feelings came rushing back. He wanted to gloat about his success. When she wanted to divorce her husband and gave him a flash drive with enough evidence to get her divorce. Even though he is cold and unfeeling he wants her badly. I’m glad he helped her. She finally got a chance to explain what happened back then. I could feel the steam from them coming off the pages. Definitely a must read.
Jaxson Parker is partners with the Hunter brothers and Maxwell Bass in a law firm. Jenna Jacobbi was the girl who broke his heart when she didn't show up to run away with him 13 years ago. They meet again when she comes to him to help her get a divorce. He has never gotten over her and she still loves him. Her father stopped her from going that night and her life went downhill from there. To protect his family who worked on her family's ranch she did not go to him and sent no message and was forced to marry another. Her marriage was abusive and she feels lucky to have survived it. At first he is cold to her because she hurt him so much but he ends up kissing her before she leaves the office. The past slaps him in the face with the deep feelings they shared and he knows he will do whatever it takes to free her. He wants her back. She wants to tell him what really happened that night. This is a sexy and good love story and you want all of it to work out for them. We get to see our friends from the first two books also. Heading to book four.
Jax is a player, he's arrogant and he takes what he wants. Women are just a means to release a biological need and nothing more. He's not one to give his heart he did it once and he won't do it again! Jenna is in a loveless, arranged marriage that is taking her soul and crushing it. Her heart will always belong to someone else that she crushed years ago. When Jenna goes to The Hunter Group to see Jax about handling her divorce old feelings come crashing back, Jax tries to be an asshole. Wants her to hurt like she hurt him. He is cold and a completely different person that he was years before . When the truth of the past and the untold story of her marriage comes out Jax swears to help her and get her back in her feet. Feelings are strong and they can't be denied anymore. He needs to keep her safe and never let her go again. Her soon to be ex-husband isn't going to make it easy though. This is an emotional story of second chances and eye opening revelations that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Player in a Suit (Cockiest Suits #3) was a great read by Alex Wolf. Jaxson Parker is a player in a suit. He was once a good man, with the woman that he loved. They were supposed to run away together. The night they were supposed to leave, she never showed up. He made a vow to conquer the world, buy the property her parents owned and sell it off for parts. He never thought that Jenna Jacobi would walk into his law firm and ask him to handle her divorce. Although he wants to fight the feelings he has for her, he knows that they were meant to be together forever. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
Hurt in the past from Jenna he has closed of his heart and build a wall up that is very strong. When Jaxson sees her again he has to make a choice. Not always easy to choose when the one you still love but hurt you is right in front of you asking for your help. An alpha turning into a possessive and protective man towards the love of his life. A sweet romantic novella with Jenna and Jaxson. They love each other but she has hurt him in the past. Now she needs his help. Can they make it? Amazing chemistry and likeable characters. Engaging and enjoyable read. Absolutely worth the read.
Jaxson and Jenna has a history that both can never forget. She broke his heart in order to save his family but he never knew the real reason until she comes knocking and needs his help. What happens next is a second chance romance read that is hot, sweet and a fantastic addition to the series. One click this newest release that has chemistry, great characters and a must read romance story.
I like the way this book was written and the characters have the chemistry, making this one of the sexiest books i have read since fifty shades series and chance carter's books This is a new author for me to read from and the series of books all continue with the characters from each book in the series and their love stories. Just beautiful Alex wolf is a talented writer and has my recommendation for anyone looking for a great romance with spice.
Jax is a dirty talking bad boy divorce lawyer and Jenna his first love whose father “sold” her into an abusive marriage to merge two ranches and keep her from being with Jax.
You would think she wouldn’t seek Jax out after breaking his heart, but she stopped loving him in the 13 years they were apart. The story starts with her seeking him out to help her with her divorce.
Alex Wolf you did it again. Jax is a dream even during his darkest time without Jenna. So sad these two were split up young. So happy they got back together. They are hot together. Added suspense in this book. Moving on to Maxwell’s story (I’ve been dying to read his story)
An awesome book. Extremely Entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Overall this story is more than just hot sex. It about Jenna & Jaxson reconnecting and rediscovering love year later after one breaks free of pain and seeks the other out for help. Recommend.
Poor boy in love with rich girl plan to run away. Father of girl sells her to rich adversaries son. Son marries her, no consummation, he beats her. Ten years or 15 go by she finally leaves.
The story has too many issues in need of making it a good one.
When you know you know. Even if it doesnt work out the first time.
Jenna broke Jaxson's heart 13 years ago to save his family. Now she's back in his sights to save her life. She refuses to he a battered woman any longer. Great book a definite must read.
Jackson Parker never thought in a million years the girl that broke his heart a life time ago would walk back into his life. Find out if he can forget the past and start again.
Loved the story of Jaxon and Jenna and their second chance romance. Loving this series so much! My only complaint is they are all novellas. Wish they were full length novels.
I truly enjoyed this book!! I loved that after everything that started then their love conquered it. I was even happy that Jenna’s husband got what he deserved!
I would recommend this book and series to mature adults, that enjoy stories that are at times funny, steamy, suspenseful, and romantic, with strong characters both male and female.
