A young girl plays truth or dare with her friends one evening and gets challenged to ask the first male that walks into the bar to give her his belt. This evening was meant to be her bachelorette party after making a deal with her adoptive mother. The deal they made was that if she agrees to an arranged marriage, she will get to continue her studies. In order to keep her education going, she sacrifices herself, but little did she know the identity of her fiancé...
We have a demure lady trying to navigate her toxic family until she becomes an adult, an empty engagement selected by family elders, and a dominating and obsessive CEO. It delivers most of the expected tropes. The men are rich powerful and handsome. The females are pretty and talented. The fiancée is having an open affair but is immediately angry when she shows attention to anyone else. The stepmother and stepsister are awful trash people you actively root against. It has the soap opera elements and short fast-moving chapters to be craveable. Sadly, the forced nature of the modern romance and constant ecchi moments are a bit cringe. We start with the dare which he takes as her trying to jump him, her towel disappears after a shower scene because of a random break-in, she is clingy as an 18 afraid of the dark… aphrodisiacs, alcohol, and kidnapping are just daily occurrences and the response to an assault is never to go to the police. Tragic backstories, dead lovers, WeChat antics, assassins, and all that eye-rolling drama if you are looking for it. None of it makes sense but that is kind of the point.
