We long for a marriage that lasts for a life time full of love and happy memories. Yet, the divorce statistics are fairly high in today's world. How do we create a marriage full of lasting love? Kim Kimberling gives a lot of solid advice and answers in his latest book, 14 Keys to Lasting Love.


There are 14 chapters in 14 Keys to Lasting Love that correspond with the 14 keys. Topics such as being friends with your spouse, how children can change the relationship, how to do conflict, how to handle money, how to keep the spark in your marriage through the years, and a whole lot more. In each chapter, he gives a lot of advice and examples from other couples in his work as a marriage counselor. He also shares a lot of personal information on how he and his wife and maintained their marriage for forty years. At the end of each chapter, he offers several key questions for couples to think about and ask each other. Then it ends with a sort of action each couple can take to improve their marriage based on that chapter.


I found 14 Keys to Lasting Love to be a good comprehensive guide to having a quality marriage in today's world. I liked so much that Dr. Kimberling focused on challenges couples have had for many of the past decades and continue to have. At the same time, he also featured some of the problems unique to couples in today's world such as gaming addiction, how the internet can affect relationships, and how to handle social media as a couple. I found this book to have some good information for adding some improvements to our marriage after 18 years, even though our marriage is good. However, I think it would be especially useful for young couples. This book would make a good engagement shower gift and wedding gift for newly married couples. I highly recommend it. 14 Keys to Lasting Love is an enjoyable read and easy to understand and relate to.

I appreciated this book. It was good to rwmind me of things I can do to better imprive my marriage. I agree with rhe author of this book, you cannot have a successful marriage without putting God as a partner with yourself and your spouse. It takes three in the marriage! I believe if you are activly praying for your spouse and how you might best serve or be a companion with your spouse, it would be impossible to run amuck in your marriage. Keep God in your relationship and you will love as the Savior taught.

This is a great book for Christian married couples or anyone really. The author is a Christian counselor who has a wife and they’ve been married forty years. He uses the Bible to counsel married couples or anyone in a relationship. It’s a wonderful book that will help you in so many ways with intimacy, communication, finances, anything you may need help with, this book covers it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and what I learned from it and loved that he used the Bible to lead him in the help he gives. I recommend this book to all. A breezy read that mixes real people anecdotes with action bullet points. The book likely doesn't tell you anything you don't know, but at the same time contains truths we all need reminding of. The Christian link isn't very strong (despite the author's background).

This is a "must read" book for all married or engaged couples. If you have a good marriage, it will make it better. If your marriage is on rocky ground, it will help you restore it. This book is packed with great tips and at the end of each chapter it has questions for you to answer and there is also a Go Deeper question for you to do together. This is a book I would highly suggest as a gift for any of your newly engaged friends. It's so important to prepare for all the marriage troubles that could come before it's too late. I would even suggest this to singles who want to get married someday. Regardless of whether you're already married or simply thinking of it, this book will definitely lead to a happier one in the future if you apply what it says.

This book may be informative, but all the personal stories keep it interesting. You will be introduced to real couples who overcome the same problems that you may be facing today. The real selling point is the practical application ideas. You will be given specific instructions on what you can start doing today to have a better marriage in the future.

This book is a great tool. I highly suggest you read it and apply what it says. I know I have personally taken some information from it as a single person and seen results in my dating relationship.
