Bearly Sassy

Rate this book
Mackenna Scott, Mack for short, ran a bar in her tiny hometown. It was the one place she coveted more than anything else because it was the only thing left of her parents. She’d inherited the Bear’s Den and made her home there, in the space above. It was her way of hiding from the world. Her kind wasn’t as widely accepted as she would like. That didn’t mean she didn’t speak her mind anytime she needed to. She was a strong bear and could more than take care of herself, better than any man too. She’d gotten quite good at fending off the paws of every scoundrel who entered the den.

Damon Bailey was an odd sort of loner, just passing through from one town to the next, not really sure what he’d been searching for. Maybe a new place to call home, one where there was no drama or complication. A town where bears or any other shifters were welcome to live in peace. He’d lived in the shelter of his extended family for far too long. Staying in hiding wasn’t any way to live, at least for him.

Upon the recommendation of a wise friendly older couple from Blue Rock, it was no accident that Damon found the Bear’s Den, but could it be fate? Even if neither he or Mack admitted it, will their alliance prove to be just what they both needed to fulfill their solitary lives together living sassy ever after?

Likeable H’s but that is all I can say.
I know this was a short story but it was too basic and lacking depth and explanation for me.
Why did the brother turn up? What did he want?
I was only into chapter one and there had already been a few grammatical errors (him instead of her) and missing words that should have been picked up.
Though I read this through KU, I hate paying for a book that has not been proofread. I would not accept faulty goods from a store so why should I accept lazy errors in a book.
This author is not for me.

This story is short, fast paced and a nice read. Although I liked this story, I didn’t feel like there was much of a story.
I like Mack and Damon, I did see a little chemistry between them but I would have liked a little more. I wanted to see more of them as a couple. I liked that Damon was reunited with his little brother.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is a nice and easy read.

Cute and fast read

Oh really loved this quick story. The plot was understandable, the the characters had some spirit. The one issue I had was the speaking. It was like I was reading a script. Sometimes it was hard to tell who was talking, and I would I have to read a little expression in their speaking line. Other than that it was a great story.

A short, cute addition to the Sassy world

This book is super short, but it gets all of the important elements in. A handsome hero, a sassy independent woman, an unexpected intruder, a growing family, friendship and love. While I would have wished it to be longer and more fleshed out, I enjoyed it all the same. Too bad there are currently no more in the Bearly Trouble series.

It feels incomplete

Although I was enjoying the book it had a few holes. I think they were introduced to add suspense. Out of nowhere another significant character arrives and then the book ends. The chemistry was good between the leads but this book lacks some vital background.

I will read this author again. Hopefully the next one doesn't have the same issues

Nearly Sassy

Mckenna Scott , Mack for short , she a grizzly bear shifter and owner of the Bean Den bar and grill, has a meet and greet Damon Bailey also a grizzly bear shifter. She has good feelings, and offer him job as bouncer, for room and board. This is a H.E.A. Story.

A decent quick, short and fast paced story. Although short it gave a good storyline and had the important pieces to make this a good book.
