How to Heal with Singing Bowls: Traditional Tibetan Healing Methods

Over the centuries many people have found relief from pain, stress, negative energy, and a variety of physical ailments through the sound and vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls, whose use has become increasingly popular in the West. This book offers techniques for using singing bowls for meditation, relaxation, and healing ailments such as insomnia, headache, stress-related intestinal disorders, and high blood pressure. It also includes techniques for using the bowls in conjunction with massage therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture. A downloadable audio demonstration of some of the methods is available to readers of the book. This expanded edition of How to Heal with Singing Bowls includes 20 new procedures for treating conditions such as neck and shoulder tension and muscle cramps throughout the body. Other new material includes using the bowls with yoga postures, massage, and heated herbal therapy packs to increase energy flow and balance and promote relaxation. This remains one of the few books on the market with step-by-step instructions for the therapeutic use of singing bowls. Much of the new information in this edition was requested by readers and by students in the author's classes.

An excellent resource for anyone interested in singing bowls, sound therapy, or chakra therapy. It covers everything from how to choose your bowl or set of bowls, to different therapies you can offer, and a brief but insightful overview of the systems and philosophies these theories come from. The audio CD is very useful in how to play two of the sequences for your client, and there's a bonus sound meditation track that has given me many restful listens.

The first practical guide I've found for using Tibetan singing bowls in healing. Not just sound and theory, this book takes you step by step through choosing a good bowl, to how to lay out bowls for different types of healing. A lot of information condensed in to a short, no-frills, practical guide.

Very helpful. This covered an instrument that my sound healing course didn't go too in depth into. I enjoyed it and immediately put the techniques to practice.

This book is a great text to accompany in-person training with Suren Shrestha. I don't think anything in a book can mimic in-person learning an instrument and asking questions/practicing with peers. It's well-written and a perfect guide for his students. It may be a good learning guide for those who wish to work on their own, if you work well with directions on a page. 100% of the proceeds of this book support an orphanage in a village near Kathmandu.
