Her master made sure that she knew what she was. Even after his death…

It had been three months since Crystal and Alveya were saved from the Krystal Tooths, and even though they were saved, Alveya still felt locked in a cage. After being rejected her entire life, she didn’t know how to be a part of a family, and worst of all, she was losing control of her beast.

Dive into Alveya’s mind and experience her point of view as the darkness begins to swallow her whole. Will she be able to hold on or completely lose herself?

After I read this quick novella, I read some reviews and realised that I probably should have read the first full length book first so I understand it properly. But I did like what I read so in a way it's enticed me to read book 1.

Read after book 1

I loved this novella. This is about Alveya after book 1. It’s a short read. But I loved seeing what Alveya is thinking after the events of book 1. I don’t wanna give anything away. Definitely need to read Krystal Blue first before this one.

meh…

Too short and not enough substance. This could have easily been a chapter added to the second book of the series when told from Albeya pov.

It just raised more questions about Kristy and how does one like her “turn on.” Why so rare? Why the most powerful of them all? I was at a loss for how weak the vampires were portrayed in overall strength. Every story just about has them more powerful than the werewolf and not only just faster.

Is Kristy like the Van Helsings or part of their bloodline? Don’t they tend to have long lives and are connected to their family with scores of information about all the beasts? It would be nice to know more of what is to happen with the Krystal Tooths (Theo, Adrianne, Alison), the Dark Bloods, The Hybrids (blue-gray people), Vampires, Kristy, The witches (Fred and Amber) and the wolves (Crystal and Alan)?

We may never know. It has been five years since this was written along with the Blue Moon Series. Sigh.

Author Hawkins writes the best books. I say this because her words can be read or listened to while in the car or work. The scenes are so descriptive. I am enjoying this series, immensely. It has the right amount of action, blood and thrills. If you haven't read Krystal Blue (The Blue Moon Series Book 1), highly recommended. Truly, can't wait for the release of Book 2. Bring it!

Abominations

This book filled in some of the back story. This made the next book more enjoyable. I will be looking forward to the next book.
