Tyler MacGyver thinks it’s time for a change of pace. The son of a not so law abiding family, after seeing one too many buddies bleed out, he decides it’s time to give up the big city lights for the droll and drum. But you know what they say, you can take the man out of the city but you can’t take the city out of the man. So when the arranged marriage he had lined up falls through, he decides to go to door number two, the younger sister. Carrie Jade would never go after her sister’s fiancé she’s just not made that way. She’s made up her mind that after the wedding she’s moving far away so that her secret won’t be discovered. From the moment she first lays eyes on the enigmatic Tyler, her innocent little heart goes pitter and patter and she falls victim to a strong case of lust at first sight. He’s unlike any of the men she’s used to in her small town. Strong, handsome, mysterious, with a certain look about him that makes her think of wild days and driving with the top down. When things go awry the night before the nuptials, she finds herself being dragged from her family home by a very pissed off Tyler who insists that she’s his new bride. Her only problem now is hiding her true feelings from him and everyone else in town.
J.S. can be hit or miss for me and this was a miss. It came up on an “ex causing drama” list I pulled somewhere, but there isn’t any drama caused by the sister. Bummer.
It’s really short with minimal plot. Honestly it reads like a series of punishing sex sessions all from the H’s POV. The barely even speak to each other.
This story was told from the male POV. I like that Ms. Silver does this so we can get a perspective on what he is feeling. I think for her she probably fell in love with him from the time she met him even though he was going to marry her sister. But I enjoyed reading his he had a slight attracted ruin for her and then eventually his feelings grew.
This is basically the book where all those fade to dark harlequin scenes end up. So much coital activity. If it had a HEA epilogue might've bumped it up a star.
So, Jordan was the firsty dirty erotica author I read, and occasionally when I'm having a bad day, I like to go back to her books. This reminded me kinda of "Taking what he wants”, so decided to pick this up. Needless to say it was a clusterfuck of ridic awesomeness.
Some gems I found in this book, "kiddie napping" for kidnapping.
Her little face was pinched tight as a puckered asshole
Her shit snapped at my finger like a sea animal and held me in.
I pressed my snake into the bed
The warm softness of her palm almost made me jizz
I changed up my angle and that shit opened up like a Venus flytrap and my boy saw his opening.
Let’s just say I have pussy ADHD.
She bled like stink that first night and since all the shit she was making me feel confused my ass I let her off easy. My dick was covered in blood and so were the sheets. “Fuck did I kill you?”
Minimal on story, maximum on boinking- this one's blurb was more explanatory than the whole story- but made me cringe and chuckle all at once.
Tyler MacGyver is 30 years old, he left Chicago and moved to a small town. He was supposed to marry Tammy, not because he loved her but because the prestige that came from her family would help him and her dad owed him. He didn’t realize her dad was trying to dupe him at first but he had no intention of marrying the slutty daughter. Carrie is 22 years old and Tammy’s younger sister, she is the golden child of the family. Tyler exposes Tammy and Carrie’s boyfriend in bed the night before the wedding so everyone can see it. The next day the wedding goes as planned except for one tiny adjustment - the bride is now Carrie.
3.5 stars for this quick novella. Tyler was something else --- APP = ALPHA, POSSESSIVE AND PROTECTIVE w/ sarcastic tongue at all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"There was something about her. That clean untouched cool demeanor that the sister tried to pull off but fell short." -Tyler
"He’d wept like a toddler when I took his ‘baby’ out of his house that night in front of his snobby ass friends and he couldn’t say shit about it. Not unless he wanted them all to know the slime that he really is." -Tyler
"You damn straight I went ahead with the wedding. Different bride sure, but why let all that shit go to waste. Now I think at some point in the future I might have to throw her another one because she seems to feel a way about that shit. Women! Okay so maybe she got caught in the middle through no fault of her own. I mean it’s not her fault her sister is the town slut and her pissy boy didn’t know a good thing when he had it. -Only Tyler's thinking out loud again!

Over the top Alpha male. Mafia background alluded too, but not an active part of the plot. Virgin female given to hero in exchange for forgiving a debt. Very steamy. Quick Read. No cheating. HEA. Dominate male with touch of sadism. Innocent Female who completely submits, never argues. Overall, a lot of fun to read.
Tyler and 'what the heck was her name?' Not really a story. More of a blurb with copious repetitive and punishing sex. They are already married when the story starts and for the first 20% I wondered if the H was actually the good guy??? So much of what I was drawn to in the book blurb was absent. Then there's too much sex (I know... Jordan Silver...) I skimmed most of the sex so only took an hour tops to read the story. I also found it difficult to know who was who at first. Very confused presentation. The timeline jumps around a lot.
But I do admit the ending was strangely sweet for such a f'd up relationship. The one star is for the ending.
This was a typical JS book, full of steamy times, short, but packed with story. It didn’t have a drawn out storyline, just a novella, but we still learn enough about the characters and their background to appreciate that this book is more than sex - though that is, of course, the basics of this book. Perfect for an hour on a rainy day like today
A cross between Jake Summers and Travis Mallory, Trent MacGyver gives Lyon and the Seals a run for their money!!! Love the newest alpha bada$$ of the family.
Book is in H POV all throughout. It was interesting to just read through his thoughts from the time he met the h and until the end of the book. H is ott jp.
I love Jordan Silver. If you have read her books you know what you are getting. If you haven't I suggest you give one a go - they are not going to be for everyone
I give up. I don't understand a female author who continually writes "hero's" who abuse their women. Let's all just be real. Call a spade a spade and sexual abuse what it is . Punishment sex, anger sex, whatever she chooses to call it is irrelevant. It's just abuse plain and simple. It's not sexy. It's sad. I can get behind a good spanking even a couple swats under the pretense of being a lesson. Using sex to purposely inflict pain is wrong. This story was all over the place. Just a bunch of words on a page that held no real plot of substance. I've enjoyed quite a few of Jordan's books in the past. This on the heels of her latest release is very disappointing.
Could have been better and blurb was misleading as in no part of this book do we ever get the FMC’s POV as to her always wanting the MMC or that she was going to move away because he was going to marry her sister. This whole book in MMC’s POV and it is all flashbacks that lead up to them already married. There was one scene of a dangerous situation that was handle in two pages, if that, at the end that lead these two characters to say those three little words to each other. There was no angst, no romance, just a couple of Jordan Silver style s e x scenes that were still very tame for her, and a whole lot of MMC POV’s about how unimpressed he is with things but surprised by how attached he was to the FMC. Really, it could have been better but it was likable enough. Good luck.
I loved this book. It was a story about a man, Tyler who was supposed to marry a daughter of someone who basically owed his family. The night before the wedding something happens and Tyler decides that instead of him marrying the person he was supposed to marry he takes the younger sister and decides to marry her instead. Carrie, the younger sister thinks Tyler is just marrying her to get back at her sister. Get this book and find out what happens when these two people get together. Can Tyler love her? Does she even want to be married to Tyler?
This is not my favorite Jordan Silver story. It has all the Jordan Silver spice but none of the heart. It’s 11 chapters and 49 pages, and we don’t know their names until like chapter 7/8. We never hear them they’re thought by Tyler. It’s only his POV and the narration is confusing. We go from the current moment, to the past, to the honeymoon to the current moment and onward. We have no idea why he left Chicago. We have no idea what his family does or what her dad is up to. There some drama at the end but it’s over before it began.
Absolutely love Jordan Silver books she never disappoints. She always gets to the good stuff and this book was no different. I loved the main characters especially how they ended up together they both got what they wanted a partner who was going to love each other no matter what. And that's what we had with these two characters. I am just so in love with this book if you love hot alpha males that take control then this is the book for you.
If you are looking for a book so hot steamy with crude language to feel extra heat, then this author is a go to option. This book was so so hot steamy with extra sprinkle on steaminess (if steaminess even a word). The story was all about hot blooded alpha H and seemingly absent minded gullible h. The story was all about brash and pumped extra adrenaline and lust. All paid ride to the lust mountain.
WHAT.THE.FUCK?????? Y'all are SICK AS FUUUUCK
I have read dozens of Jordan Silver books over the years, and I enjoy them typically, but this one was lacking big time. She usually writes super obsessed MMC that do all kinds of crazy stuff to show their love for their FMC, but this guy did almost nothing until literally the last paragraph in which he gives a perfunctory I love you after saying “I know” response to her first I love you. I genuinely just didn’t like this one much at all.
This little novella is told entirely from the H’s POV. That’s a first for me. Normally it’s a shared POV or basically from the h’s POV. H is the proverbial bad guy and the h is the sweet innocent girl next store. It is a love story. It starts right in the thick of things. I’m amazed that the author could put so much story in so few pages. Can’t wait to read more by this author.
Just a short and quick story about some gangster type and the good girl he ends up married to. The story itself is very bare bones and really isn’t very interesting. The ending has some excitement but that’s about it.
