It was easier than I thought go into this world again, these books have great potential, especially their characters and the atmosphere of danger that it's constantly surrounds them.

4/5 Stars

You can find this one and more of my reviews on my blog A Book. A Thought.

Of course, I can't tell you what this book is about because they would be a lot of spoilers of the first one, but I can recommend it so easily, especially if you like fantasy and you're in those moments when you want to try something more mature, this is the perfect trilogy for you

Many things have changed in the life of the characters after tragedies that have occurred in the previous book. This puts them in a place of doubt, because even when they think that many things could be good now that the magic has been restored, there is always something behind waiting to make its appearance, rather dark things that create new obstacles for our characters, when they least expect it. There is something in this story that I find captivating, and I think it's the fact that although you know that some things have been solved and you have that little ray of hope for it, at the same time you know that something even worse could happen at any time and that feeling of insecurity keeps me very hooked. I'm on the edge of my seat all the time knowing that nobody is 100% safe. It's really scary, actually lol. #TeamTei

description

I think the characters have been developed a bit more in this book and since it's something I felt was missing in the previous book, I'm happy to see that it has progressed in this one. And although I've enjoyed much more of the story of each character in this opportunity, I'm still not sure about the magical aspect, I find it intriguing but it's not my favorite aspect. Even so, I think it's created in a very smart and unique way and its originality could captivate many of its readers.

I love the writing style, I love when the authors manage to tell a story that seems so complex in a very simple way, I think it's something unique and it has that power to keep you wanting for more. It's also very quick to read!

I want to emphasize that although it's a fantasy and has all the aspects of one, it also touches very human themes that are sometimes unfairly left aside in this type of books as much as love, how to deal with loss, personal search, which is your purpose in life?, and those types of topics

I think that if you like books with multiple characters and you like to follow the story of each one as if you were there with them, you have to give this trilogy a chance. Also as always, I think it's very important to support our independent writers

description

I wasn't very sure about the ending, because I honestly didn't know that this would be a trilogy lol. Then I was a little lost, but now that I know there will be a final book then the ending make more sense to me, but I have to warn you that if you don't have the third book in your hands when you finish this one, get ready, it will be a long wait!. It's one of those books that at the end of one you need to follow with the next one ASAP, but we have to wait like normal people lol.

There isn't really much I can say about this book that I haven't said in the review of the previous one, because honestly I liked it just as much as the first book. But let me tell some things.

Since it's a series, the flow kept going, with the same pace, with some character development and, of course, the plot continues to be great. Then again, it is the following book and things are intertwined and it got interesting even more with some major scenes and characters that surprised me a bit.

I read this book immediately after book one, so I was still in the mind frame and still connected to the characters, the storyline and the world that was portrayed in this second novel.

I'm still very intrigued by the magical aspect of this fantasy world and I do love to figure things out and learn about the rule (societal, cultural and magical) when dealing with a fantasy genre novel. So it's always good when the author gives the readers some bits and pieces of information as then go deep into the series or world building. In that sense, this novel brings some extra stuff to us.

I still very interested by the characters and to learn more about them because, although it's a fantasy series, it doesn't just deals with the magical aspect of this fictional time and space. Because characters are what move the plot and they are the ones that truly change things and act upon their motivations, dreams and aspirations, fear and anger, we have emotions. And that's something that I liked, the fact that all human problems, qualities and defaults make an appearance. It wouldn't sound real to me if it wasn't the case. That's also why we are seeing some character development, which is amazing.

Over all, love the book. If you like fantasy novels, you should check this out.

It is a while since I read book 1 in this series but it all came back to mind pretty quickly as each character re-emerged in the story. You really do need to read book 1 before this one, not only to get a feel of the characters but it really does continue with story lines that tie up in this one too.
Life is as good as it gets when the story opens but that cloud of doom and foreboding is never far away. Kalaya is an Island where the exiles and Tei live under a cloak of magic provided by the new Sentinel. Tei and Calissa are sort of bound by their destinies but it really hasn't been an easy journey, both are very strong characters. Tei is one of my favourites, a strong-willed and determined woman who has found love, though I am a little unsure who wears the pants here!
It is difficult to say too much in a series so as not spoil the book that has gone before. The story, on a whole. is complex and the characters are in plenty supply but Suzanne Rogerson very nicely links people and places together that make it easy to know the good from the bad. It isn't always brute force that solves problems in this story although there is a fair bit of fighting when they clash.
I grew to hate Rathnor on every page turned as lives were destroyed and corrupted and good people lost their families. Oh boy there are some shockers, so take some deep breaths on each page that he is about. Now I really began to love Hafender head of the exiles, who brought a smile to my face more than once, no-one could miss this huge man in height or likeability, although for those that don't know him he is one scary fellow.
A super paced story, plenty going off and an ending that makes me hungry for the last instalment. This is a cracking epic saga.

3.5/5!

This and other reviews can be found on my blog

The Sentinel's Reign is the second book in the Silent Sea Chronicles starting with The Lost Sentinel (my review). I enjoyed reading the first book and was very excited to receive also a copy of the second instalment.

In this story we follow the same characters as before. Calissa has now become the new Sentinel and Tei is her confidante. Brogan is still a member of the Assembly and continues to defy Rathnor, who in turn seems to gain more and more power. Meanwhile across the sea, Farrell has to decide whether he wants to lead his people to war on Kalaya or if he continues to build a home on Stone Haven.

First of all, the cover for this book looks even better than the cover of The Lost Sentinel! The covers overall are very reduced and feature one specific colour (blue for the first book) and I like that the author chose a close-up this time.

Another thing that stuck out to me was how easy it was to find my way back into this series. Rogerson manages to intricately weave the events of the first book into the first chapters of The Sentinel's Reign and thus paves the way for the reader to enjoy the continuation without being lost.

Even though this series is categorized as YA, there are constantly high stakes and even more characters won't make it to the end. Loss and coping with losing people close to oneself continue to be important topics. Mara has to deal with the death of her unborn child's father Rike and Tei still mourns his and Garrick's death as well. Due to them being alive in the Astral Plane and helping the Sentinel escorting the spirits of the dead into the afterlife, Rogerson adds another layer to their fate.

Now scarred from the events in the first book, Tei has to struggle to find her place in Turrak. The elders suggest she should marry and continue the bloodline which Tei is actually considering due to all that she has already suffered from. But soon the events are overturning and Tei has to rescue Brogan from being hanged and their love blossoms anew.

I liked that we finally got to know why exactly Rathnor hates all people that use magic and especially the Sentinel herself. It's a hatred that stems from the refusal of the old Sentinel to help him out, resulting in a great loss.

I especially liked that this book concluded the war between Rathnor and the exiles and opens the story to an even greater threat, the Elkenan invaders. These people already drove the Arconian people away to Stone Haven and their only goal is to erradicate magic everywhere. Additionally, some characters seem to change the scene, which will surely bring a breath of fresh air to the story's conclusion.

Overall, I think this book is a good continuation of The Lost Sentinel. If you enjoyed this book, you will surely enjoy this sequel just as much.

(Audiobook)

With Calissa initiated as the Sentinel, life on Kalaya is good for Tei and the exiles. But the villainous Rathnor has other ideas and Tei faces further challenges if she and her friends are to keep the peace and hold on to the magic. Rumours of a spy in their midst doesn’t help matters and Brogan comes under scrutiny as doubts are cast on his loyalty.

Expertly narrated once again by George Ellington, this is the second book in the Silent Sea Chronicles trilogy and follows on from the events last time. As with the first book, the author’s descriptive skills are on top form, creating vivid landscapes which work well as a backdrop for her characters. What I liked this time around was the way we get more of an insight into each of the characters (such as the curious dynamics in Tei’s developing romance), and though the plot is less action-packed than before, there’s enough to keep readers wondering what’s going to happen next. Generally, I’d say the book is more of a character-driven story than plot-driven – the plot itself didn’t always keep my attention but the strong emotions inherent in the characters really are the best part of Ms Rogerson’s writing.

Another enjoyable book that (for the most part) held my attention and I’m sure will thrill lovers of epic fantasy.

The second book of the trilogy continues the story of life on Kalaya, and is another great book from Suzanne Rogerson.

The Sentinel's Reign moves at a slower pace than The Lost Sentinel, but still has plenty of action.

The characters we met previously continue to develop, grow, and adjust to their new circumstances.

Suzanne Rogersons world building and descriptive writing ensured that, once again, I could always see where in the world I and the characters were.

I have become attached to many of the characters within the pages of the Silent Sea Chronicles and am looking forward to reading the final instalment.

This book re-introduces you to Tei and Callisa, the Sentinel, fighting against Rathnor and his plans.

With "The Sentinel's Reign", Suzanne Rogerson presents us with several interwoven plot lines, one covering Tei and her companions, another getting closer to Brogan, and a third one is on Farrell. All plotlines are relevant, the one I did not get warm within the first book has become very interesting. The story is skilfully elaborated, comprises interesting turns, and has a  great flow. Suzanne Rogerson introduces each character with finesse, providing them with sufficient depth for their respective relevance. I was drawn into the story right away - very close to Tei, Brogan, and some wonderful allies, highly appreciating their integrity. As I assumed after reading the first book, I got closer to Tei in the second instalment because she has gained a little more maturity. I could easily envision the characters and locations. I had a great time reading "The Sentinel's Reign". It is a very enjoyable read; I am looking forward to reading the upcoming third instalment.

This is for you if you like urban fantasy, very likeable characters to cheer on their thrilling ventures, integrity, surprises, and great storytelling.

This is a book/series to read again. Highly recommended.

pooled ink Reviews:

We pick up Tei’s story in this book and witness how life has already changed with the Sentinel found and taking her place in Kalaya. We also witness how certain characters must cope in the aftermath of the last book’s challenges and tragedies. While finding the lost Sentinel and restoring the island’s magic is wonderful and what the people have been long waiting for, it’s not all sunshine and dreams come true. In fact several enemies and unexpected obstacles arise from the shadows.

If you’re a loving fantasy fan seeking a tale filled with adventure and magic then you should really give this series a try.

The Sentinel’s Reign breathes life into an island of magic as well as enemies thirsting for its power. Adventurous and unique this fantasy only gets more captivating with every turn.

Introduction: A Compelling Sequel
"The Sentinel's Reign," the second book in the Silent Sea Chronicles by Suzanne Rogerson, continues the epic fantasy journey that began with "The Lost Sentinel." This sequel not only lives up to the promise of the first book but arguably surpasses it, deepening the story and expanding the world in ways that keep readers enthralled. From the moment I finished the first book, I was eager to dive into this one, and it did not disappoint. The anticipation for the trilogy's conclusion is now even more intense, as this installment leaves readers with an open ending that tantalizes the imagination.

Continuation of the Saga
"The Sentinel's Reign" picks up immediately where "The Lost Sentinel" left off. The continuity between the two books is seamless, allowing readers to transition smoothly into the next phase of the story. Calissa, who has ascended to the role of the all-powerful Sentinel, and her confidante Tei, are now central figures in the narrative. Their new roles come with significant responsibilities and challenges, as they must adapt quickly to the demands placed upon them by the elders.

The Characters: Growth and Struggle
Calissa and Tei's journey is a primary focus of this book. As the newly anointed Sentinel, Calissa struggles with the immense power and responsibility that comes with her position. Her character development is handled with great care, showing her growth from uncertainty to a more assured leader. Tei, her confidante, provides a strong supporting presence, their relationship adding depth and emotional resonance to the story.

Rathnor, the antagonist, continues to be a formidable force. His relentless pursuit of power and his desire to destroy Turrak and seize the Sentinel's power for himself adds tension and urgency to the plot. Rathnor’s native Stone Haven, a barren and desolate land where magic has almost disappeared, contrasts starkly with the magical richness of Kalaya. His desperation and determination make him a complex and compelling villain.

Captain Farrell emerges as a significant character in this installment. Discontent with the desolation of Stone Haven, he seeks a new land for his people. Contacted by a mysterious person from Kalaya, he sets off on a mission to save the island from a tyrant intent on eradicating those with magic. His journey across the ocean with his crew adds an element of adventure and expands the geographical scope of the series.

Themes: War and Division
At the heart of "The Sentinel's Reign" is the conflict between two factions. On one side are those who believe in the sanctity and power of magic, and on the other are those who fear it and seek to suppress it. This war is not fought by professional soldiers but by ordinary people—farmers, carpenters, and others—who have been manipulated into fearing and hating magic. This theme of fear and prejudice against magic users echoes real-world issues of intolerance and persecution.

The portrayal of these divided societies adds depth to the narrative, as it explores the consequences of fear-mongering and the struggle for acceptance and equality. The magic users, despite their abilities, are forced to live under harsh restrictions, constantly looked down upon and treated as second-class citizens. This social commentary enriches the fantasy setting, making the stakes of the conflict feel both personal and universal.

World-Building: Expanding Horizons
One of the standout aspects of Rogerson's writing is her world-building. In "The Sentinel's Reign," she expands the universe introduced in "The Lost Sentinel," adding new locations, cultures, and magical elements. The contrast between Stone Haven and Kalaya is particularly striking, highlighting the diversity of environments and societies within the Silent Sea Chronicles.

Stone Haven, with its desolate landscape and lack of magic, feels oppressive and bleak. In contrast, Kalaya is a land rich in magic and beauty, albeit threatened by internal and external conflicts. The detailed descriptions of these places allow readers to visualize them vividly, enhancing the immersive experience of the book.

Rogerson's ability to create a world that feels both vast and intricately detailed is impressive. The histories, politics, and cultures of the different regions are woven seamlessly into the narrative, providing a rich backdrop for the characters' adventures.

Plot: Intrigue and Adventure
The plot of "The Sentinel's Reign" is intricate and multi-layered, with numerous subplots that intertwine to create a cohesive and engaging story. The central conflict between the magic users and their oppressors drives much of the action, but there are also personal quests and smaller-scale dramas that add depth and variety to the narrative.

Calissa and Tei's efforts to consolidate their power and protect their people are fraught with danger and intrigue. Their struggle to understand and master their new roles provides a compelling throughline, while Rathnor's schemes add an element of constant threat and urgency.

Captain Farrell's journey across the ocean introduces new characters and challenges, expanding the scope of the story. His mission to save Kalaya adds another layer of tension, as the stakes for both him and the islanders are high.

Writing Style: Immersive and Engaging
Suzanne Rogerson's writing style is immersive and engaging, drawing readers into the world she has created. Her prose is clear and descriptive, making it easy to visualize the settings and characters. The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of high action interspersed with quieter, more reflective scenes that allow for character development and world-building.

The dialogue is natural and believable, adding depth to the characters and their relationships. Rogerson excels at conveying emotions and building tension, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.

Anticipation for the Final Book
The open ending of "The Sentinel's Reign" leaves readers eagerly anticipating the final book in the trilogy. The unresolved plot threads and lingering questions create a sense of suspense and excitement. Rogerson has set the stage for a thrilling conclusion, and fans of the series will be eager to see how the story unfolds.

Conclusion: A Masterful Sequel
In conclusion, "The Sentinel's Reign" is a masterful sequel that builds on the strengths of "The Lost Sentinel" while introducing new elements and deepening the story. The rich world-building, compelling characters, and intricate plot make this a standout fantasy novel. Suzanne Rogerson has created a series that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, exploring themes of power, prejudice, and the struggle for justice.

For fans of the Silent Sea Chronicles, this book is a must-read. It continues the story in a way that feels fresh and exciting while staying true to the elements that made the first book so enjoyable. With its engaging narrative and immersive world, "The Sentinel's Reign" is a testament to Rogerson's skill as a storyteller.

Wow, this is another brilliant installment of the Silent Sea Chronicles which left reeling after the many twists and turns, which I wasn’t expecting, especially towards the ending. I haven’t been able to get this story out of my head for several days now, and I just can’t wait to read the final part! The Sentinel’s Reign is the second part to this trilogy and picks up the story from where the first one ended. Unlike with some books, this one will be enjoyed much more if you read the first part, otherwise you might struggle to know who all the characters are or what is happening.

There is so much in this story it’s hard for me to even summarise what happens at the start. As with the first book the action bounces around to different characters. This is done well though and you never get confused as to what is happening. In fact moving between the different characters on Kalaya: Brogen, Tei, Callisa, etc. and Farrell’s story on Stone Haven, really speeds up the pace of this book and I can’t help but feel like I’m watching some epic movie while reading!

The story becomes so much more involving than it already felt from the first book. Farrell’s story deepens when we learn who it is who is speaking to him and the tensions on Kalaya between the various factions builds up to an exciting and devastating level. There is so much that happens in this story that it leaves you feling a whole mix of emotions. There are exciting moments, sad ones, unbelievable twists and dark turns. And even towards the ending which I thought was all wrapped up nicely, there were yet more twists to what happens with some key characters! I enjoyed seeing the relationships deveoping in the story. Although we already saw the relationships between so many characters develop in the first book there was a change in some of them, I especially liked the way Tei and Callisa moved forwards despite the rough patch they go through, and even the big villain of the story who is such an interesting and exciting character to read, has more to him than first appears.

The ending of this book is very satisfying. It has a good ending that feels very wrapped up and yet there are still things that are left open and a threat that isn’t yet solved that makes you want to read the final book to find out what happens. I can’t help but feel a bit sad though as there are some characters that don’t make it, especially at the end of the story and I couldn’t help but want to see more of one of them in the next book although this isn’t likely.

Overall I just can’t recommend this book (and book one in the series) high enough. There is such an amazing and detailed plot, with so much happening and you really don’t know what will happen to the characters. It’s not many books where I can say that I really didn’t expect certain characters would die or that certain things would happen but this book just left me reeling after the emotional rollercoaster it’s put me on. I’d definitely recommend this (and the first book in the series) to any fantasy lover and even those who aren’t so into fantasy but who are open to trying it. The book deals with magic, telepathy and characters on the astral plane, but they are all human in nature and it’s definitely both a plot driven as well as character driven novel. This story will still be stuck in my head for a while yet and I just can’t wait to read the third and final installment in this amazing series!

Today is release day for this, the newest book, from Suzanne Rogerson! The Sentinel’s Reign is book 2 in the Silent Sea Chronicles. In this installment, Calissa has become the Sentinel and Tei her confidante. Both are struggling a bit with the adjustment to their new roles. At the same time, Rathnor is upping his campaign against magic and the death and destruction is increasing. As Rathnor continues to get stronger the fate of Kalaya and its magic is becoming more and more precarious. Meanwhile, Captain Farrell is desperately trying to improve the lives of his people on Stone Haven, but unknown to him Rathnor is gradually taking over his mind and bending him to his will. What will the fate of Kalaya and Stone Haven be? Will Rathnor’s evil schemes be defeated? Will Calissa and Tei learn how to work together for the future of Kalaya?

Yummy is the word that comes to mind when I think about this book. As the second book in the series, my favorite characters are back, Callisa, Tei, Brogan and Mara. There are also some secondary characters that get a bigger role in this one, like Hafender the giant of a man who commands the military forces of the exiles. The characters that return just continue to develop as individuals and in their relationships with each other. The attraction between Tei and the handsome Brogan sees the most development and it is quite charming. I loved revisiting Kalaya and as in previous books the descriptions of the world and of the magic it contains are beautiful. I always appreciate the way the descriptions are woven into the story and don’t feel heavy or lecture-y. The story moves forwards at a good pace that keeps the reader’s attention and there are enough curveballs to keep you guessing at the final outcome. There is a 3rd book planned for this series so don’t despair if you get to the end and want more. Even if you don’t like fantasy books usually you will like this series, so don’t delay, get your copy today!

Although the Sentinel has been found and magic restored to Kalaya, things are not as great as they first appear. Prejudice and mistrust run deep and not everyone is accepting of those that use magic. There are those that are still planning on a war and won’t be swayed from their goals. Then you have the young man that is still trying to keep his own home going but will he be able to keep war from happening?

Let me start by saying that I recommend reading these books in order. You hop right into the story and will miss some stuff without reading book one. I loved coming back to this world. Things seem to be going better but not perfect. There are still those that hate the exiles and want to end them. You have relationships breaking and rebuilding stronger. And you have those dealing with loss and what to do with their futures.

I really like how those raveled frayed endings from the first book are wrapped together and some of my questions answered. We find an end to one conflict but so many more waiting to strike in the shadows. But I really liked finding out where Rathnor’s hatred for the exiles comes from.

This is a great series and one that any fantasy lover will enjoy. Now I can’t wait to read the last book, Sentinel’s Alliance to see how this finally ends.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

What I love about The Sentinel’s Reign is that it doesn’t struggle from “middle book syndrome.” The plot is great, the characters are developing, and this doesn’t feel like just a bridge from book one to book three!

No one is safe in this book, and I’ve grown to care for these characters, so I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen to them. There’s still room for these characters to develop, and I think that will make a good third book.

I love Suzanne Rogerson’s writing style. I feel like I was drawn into the story, and I became attached to the characters. The events from the first book were intricately woven into this story, making it easy to dive right back in.
I enjoy this series very much. I’m looking forward to the conclusion!

High stakes epic fantasy!
The second book in the Silent Sea Chronicles is even more exciting than the first book. The Sentinel’s Reign continues with the further adventures of the characters we know and love. The world is expansive and we get to explore it from many viewpoints. The conflict has escalated to an epic scale and war is in the air — but who will triumph? The exiles with their magic, the assembly who has been corrupted, or a new group of people from across the sea?
The narrator does an amazing job bringing the huge cast of characters to life. His interpretation of all the different voices adds lots of depth and excitement to the story. If you’re a fan of epic fantasy or classic sword and sorcery, you will enjoy this series.

The Sentinel's Reign is a fast paced fantasy, that picks up right where The Lost Sentinel left off. There is plenty happening, with each characters story weaving together. It touches on love, loss and friendship and finding your place and purpose in the chaos that is life.

INITIAL THOUGHTS
This second instalment of the Silent Sea Chronicles is very much in the same vein as its predecessor, but does redress some of the weaknesses inherent in book one. The pacing of The Sentinel’s Reign is significantly slower than the break-neck pace of The Lost Sentinel (which is definitely a good thing), allowing the characters to be developed more. Being given additional insight into the main characters made it easier to understand their motives and actions.

The rapid scene switching between different character POVs that characterised the first book is also greatly reduced. The narrative definitely benefited from this as the less frequent scene breaks makes for a smoother reading experience, which should please readers who were bothered about the aforementioned issue in The Lost Sentinel.

Once again the romance element of the story is lost on a reader like me, but I suspect YA fans would appreciate it, and that is one of the reasons why I feel this series in general will have greater appeal to the Young Adult readership.

What a fantastic continuation from book one, The Lost Sentinel! All the in depth world building, along with all the lovable (And not so lovable) characters have been carried across seamlessly, allowing us to get to know all our favourites even better than before. Not to mention all the descriptions of the lands, easily adding Kalaya into my list of fictional places I would love to visit – Just preferably when there’s not a war waging!

Much to my delight, we get regular visits to my favourite protector, Garrick, and his partner in crime, Rike. Though now the story is unfolding more and his side of it all is becoming more in depth, I have really enjoyed following the story line of Farrell and the other occupants of Stone Haven. Poor Farrell gets pulled in all directions at times and doesn’t know who he can really trust anymore; his determination to do the best thing for his family and his people is admirable, as he is faced with tough decisions and no matter which option he goes for, there will be someone he will have to make unhappy.

True to character, Rathnor remains the villian you just love to hate – His smug attitude and devious ways become more and more prominent, and I found myself continually rooting for the mystics to get the upper hand and just do away with him already!

Overall, this book was action packed and had me glued to it’s pages just as its predecessor did, even as I was just processing what happened in one chapter, I was desperate to speed through the next to see what happened! I cannot wait to get my hands on book three and see where the adventure takes Tei and her friends next.

The action kicks up as lives are threatened and lost, friendships are stretched to the limit, betrayal is running a muck and endurance is tested. There are so many separate pieces of the puzzle that is slipped into place that it is exciting yet tortuous as this author weaves it all to completion. We see the strengths and weaknesses as each character is tested and tried, as each reaction from actions is revealed. It is an emotional action packed read that will have you soaring one minute and the next plunging into despair.

This author pulls all of the strings and she plays with you like a cat chasing the red light. Just when you think you have figured it all out you are plunged into another twist. I have absolutely loved this series and this author show snuck up on me but has me hooked from the first page of the first book. You could stop here but why would you? This author has proved that this is definitely a series worth exploring with characters that are strong and resilient, female characters that don't falter but use their minds and hearts to get the job done. I can't wait to see where she takes us in the next book because the threats to their life are by no means done.

This is Book Two of The Silent Sea Chronicles.
Good, clean YA read that deals with difficult issues.
I enjoyed the developments in Tei’s story; how she overcomes the problems in her relationship with the Sentinel and how her relationship with Brogan flowers.
There’s plenty of action and suspense, as well as calmer, reflective chapters.
The spiritual side of the story is well drawn in the Astral Plain.
I really liked the way the story ended, with forgiveness and understanding bringing victory and peace to Kalaya.
But how long will the peace last, I wonder? I have yet to read the 3rd book!

The Sentinel's Reign: Silent Sea Chronicles-Book 2

Suzanne Rogerson did it again! Book 2 is as good as book 1! She continued to fill in the background. I am now off to read book 3. Try as I did, I couldn't second guess what would happen.

Tei’s story continues in this book as her world becomes darker. I enjoyed the weaving of different storylines and how the characters meet each other. Clean read suitable for YA Fantasy lovers and Christians.
