This was a fun, sweet, and sexy read.
When I signed-up for the ARC, I didn’t know it was the fourth book in a series. And though it is, it reads well as a standalone.
I loved Kenzie’s “introduction” to her neighbor.
“Turn your goddamn music down. I have a child who is trying to sleep next door,” I growled at him.
Best opening ever! Lol! And this shows the kind of attitude Kenzie has throughout the book. Well, except when she was around Jeremy, the neighbor she so rudely spoke to like that, and her son.
There is some suspense in the book with Kenzie’s ex, her son’s father, showing up and being a total douche. I’m glad Linda didn’t take it as far as she could have. Instead, it seemed more realistic.
Oh, and Jeremy. That man was delicious. I could just her him call Kenzie “babe” in sexy voice with a little smirk that you would want to kiss instead of slap. I wish I had known that Kenzie knew about his past and why he spent eight years in prison before it is casually mentioned halfway through because, for half this book, I was thinking, “Yeah, he might be a victim of circumstances, but you don’t know that! And you’re letting a convict around your kid without batting an eyelash!” That was really my only complaint about the book. This was also before I realized it was part of a series. Not to mention Kenzie is best friends with Jeremy’s sister, so yeah, she would have known from the beginning. Well, unless Jeremy’s sister never discussed it.
Okay, I just got off track, having arguments in my head. Anyway, like I stated in the beginning, Kenzie and the Guy Next Door is a light read that is sweet and sexy. I would love to read more from this author and recommend this book to everyone. Or even the series. From what I read in this book, all the prior stories must have been very intriguing and sweet books. 😊
