God, this book. I'm sorry but I just couldn't make myself finish. For one, I had no idea it was part of an ongoing series when I signed up to review it. That explains why I was completely in the dark as to what was going on and who the characters were. For another, the whole tone was old-fashioned and conservative in the extreme. I mean come on, he disciplined her because she was at a party where someone smoked pot and she didn't leave. Really?!?! How is that her fault?! She's an adult and as she pointed out, she can make her own decisions. He's the one that guilted her into going to college, then he had a hissy fit because she went to a party where someone smoked out. Sigh...so incredibly stupid.

Sometimes DD can be entertaining, but here it was just boring. The few scenes that were included in the part I made myself read were short and boring. They were this close to fade to black. Not my favorite thing at all.

This one was bad, really, really, really bad. No heat. The characters were boring. The "hero" was chauvinistic and ridiculous. The tone was ridiculously old-fashioned to the extreme. Sorry, but I had to DNF for the sake of my sanity.

FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND TROUBLE

What was especially fun with this series of Cal’s Law is that it also has many of the people from the Cassie series. While each book works well as a stand-alone, it flows so well as the series progresses. When Cal met Jenny in the first book, it wasn’t a good situation. They are now married, and Cal wants her to continue her education, and when she wins a scholarship, he is rather adamant about her accepting it and attending one more year of college.

There are so many mixed emotions for Jenny going back to school, something Cal seems to believe she needs to do. For the first time in her life, she has the support of a loving family with Cal’s family. Unlike what she experienced with cold, heartless parents, Cal’s family is fun, warm, and loving.

“It was the things she hadn’t had—a loving family, a job, friends and most important of all, Cal—that had her excited to get up every morning. Every day was special whether she cooked and cleaned their home or spent the day at the river with friends and family. Jenny was as happy as she’d ever hoped to be.”

Finally, Jenny will acquiesce to Cal’s insistence that she attend one more year of college. The problem is she will be hours away from him and their home. The good part is she will share a home with Allie, who is also at school away from her husband, Ryan. All Jenny wants is for this agreed upon year to end so she can go back home.

When trouble comes in the form of a wannabe cop harassing her, Cal will have to deal with Jenny’s outburst and getting into a fight. But then, when a real deputy targets Jenny, it is more than just coincidence with her receiving all these tickets for petty things and including having her car towed. Cal will have to take this serious and step in, not as a sheriff, but as a concerned husband with the assistance of an attorney friend.

There are many laughing out loud moments with some of the antics when Sue and Cassie come to stay with Allie and Jenny and attends a campus party. Leave it to two older women to become the life of the party and stir up trouble. Somehow, in the midst of it all, Jenny still is held accountable by Cal and pays the price. Then throw in her sister-in-law, Lane, and more trouble is in the works. But this time, it takes on a sinister form of danger that lands both ladies in trouble with their husbands.

“Get away with what you can and deal with the consequences if you get caught? Consider yourself caught, and there are consequences.”

The story has many types of spankings, including funishments and punishments. Cal is a no-nonsense man and takes Jenny’s safety seriously. The story has only a little BDSM with mild sex scenes, yet they are not overly detailed and more implied, but the spankings are detailed.

I enjoyed this third book in this series of Cal and Jenny where domestic
discipline was an intrinsic part of their marriage.A part which Jenny did
not always agree with and never enjoyed.Reading the first two books
will give you an insight and background into each character and their
history.Submission does not come easy for Jenny at times with the eyes
of the community watching her every move. All Jenny dreams of is being
Cal's wife,with a white picket fence,kids and a dog.The simple things
warmed her heart but Cal had different plans for Jenny. He insisted that
she return to school and finish her education.Being separated from Cal
and only seeing him on weekends brought its own problems.Trouble seems
to follow poor Jenny with painful consequences at Cal's hands, paddle or
belt.Throw in a stalking cop,poor decisions while at a party,fist fights,danger
and general mayhem which seem to plague poor Jenny on a regular basis.
Jenny loved the feeling of belonging to a family and enjoyed her first real
Christmas with Cal's family. In this story, you also grow to know Cal's family
and friends from previous books.I loved Jenny's sassy personality, she was
strong willed but she was no match for Cal's heavy hand and his low tolerance
for her disobedience and penchant for getting into trouble.Cal was a alpha
male and Jenny eventually learns to take the good with the bad.The chemistry,
physically and emotionally between Cal and Jenny was off the charts, they
were definitely made for one another.

Jenny and Cal were a lovely couple. I liked them and the secondary characters surrounding them. A family affair this was.

These two face their issues well, as Cal wanting Jenny to go back to College for another year and she resisting, but after a few talks with the women of Cal family who treats her as their own a compromise is made. Of course not everything runs smoothly especially as College Jinks with the In laws and then more serious trouble. But with a firm hand Cal soon gets his wife back under control, even if she puts all the fire into getting out. Fun and entertaining read. Nice spanking scenes and lots of making up ensues.

I really liked this third book in the series. The romance was sweet, and the author provided enough drama and humor to keep the story exciting. Jenny is a sweet character, and even with her questionable decision making, she remains likeable. Cal is all alpha male, with a nice mix of sterness and compassion. I really like the inclusion of Cal's family and Cassie's crew. I love the support they show the young couple and as always Cassie adds a good dose of humor. I hope the author decides to continue on with this series, it seems like this couple has a lot more story to tell.

I loved this book. If you read the first two books in this fantastic series, you know that it's set in the Cassie world (Cassie is a must read series for dd fans). This book is more of a blend of the two series and the result couldn't be better. I was laughing out loud at the sass and antics of both the young and the older generations. The added elements of mystery and danger enhanced the plot and gave the story a serious side. So many great characters, lots of discipline, and a wonderful fast-paced story line combined to make this erotic romance a big hit.

This was an okay read for me. Be warned this is part of a series and I do recommend reading them in order to fully enjoy. The story involves a large family and this is Cal and Jenny’s story. Cal wants Jenny to go to collage but she doesn’t want to. Cal is all alpha and he is more than happy to punish his naughty wife. It is steamy but the writing was a bit choppy for me and so many characters to keep track of. Steamy but just okay.

I’ve loved this series and was so excited that there was another book. This book is chock full of action and sexiness. Jenny and her friends struggle to stay on the straight and narrow when she’s away at school, but her strict Sheriff husband, Cal, will make sure she toes the line... at least for a little while. I certainly hope this series continues.

This is a really good book. I loved Cal. At first, Jenny was a real brat but she evolved into a great character. I wish it was longer because I could have kept reading but it hit the spot!
