I found some recipes I’m actually going to try! I’m willing to buy six ingredients and if it fails, it’s ok. I am excited to try some of the recipe, after I do I will edit this post and let you know.

The recipes in this book were simpler than lots of other Instant Pot publications. Less prep work and less fancy, but perfectly efficient for a busy weeknight. They won’t make you drool, but they get the job done.

My sister-in-law recommended this book and I’m glad she did! The first two recipes we tried turned out awesome and delicious. We will definitely make them again. Can’t wait to continue thru the book and make more of these recipes.

I’m sure the recipes are fine, I just don’t get the instant pot appeal. Most of these recipes I can make on the stove top in the same amount of time. If you’re an instant pot fan this might be for you.

If you read too many Instant Pot cookbooks in a row they all kind of blend together, this is the Hello Fresh(or another meal delivery service) version of a cookbook.

Great collection of photos, instructions, and recipes for the newbie Instant Pot user. It may also be helpful to experienced users as there are a variety of recipes.

This one was just okay. We have forgone with the recipe book, for now, and have begun looking up recipes on YouTube or online.

My no fuss definition differs from the author's, mainly on ingredients I'm likely to have on hand. Lots of good ideas!

This is better than the other limited ingredient Instant Pot cookbook I read, but mostly because there seem to be more one-pot meals included. Much like the other book, they stay within the self-imposed limit of six ingredients by not counting some ingredients you are assumed to already keep stocked in your pantry (oils, broths/stocks, vinegar, salt, pepper, although I'd argue that using specialty oils and vinegars and not counting them is cheating because many people only stock white vinegar and at maybe two oils). I like that this book doesn't use canned cream-of-whatever soups, which many limited ingredient cookbooks use as a way of getting around the limitation, but the number of ingredients is less important to me than the end result, so whatever.

She spends a few pages explaining her choices and recommendations as well as giving a basic primer on Instant Pot cooking (including the important safety information). She also lists and describes some useful accessories most beginners probably don't have. This is great because the choices can be overwhelming and beginners won't know what's really useful and what's just another toy (many of the recommendations are things most home cooks have, but a few are less typical unless you own an Instant Pot). She also covers some of the specific ingredients she recommends (real balsamic vinegar, for example, not that stuff that passes for it in most grocery stores) before ending with some FAQs (I see some of these over and over in online Instant Pot groups).

The recipes have more variety than the other book. I liked the other book better for breakfast options, but there are a few here that I'll definitely be trying (Wheat Berry and Citrus Breakfast Salad anyone?). There's a whole section of vegetarian main courses, and a few of them are even vegan although she doesn't specifically mention that. There are more that would be suitable as one-pot meals than the other book (and they're conveniently marked as such with a little icon prominently displayed on the page), and some unique main dishes that I can't wait to try (French Cider and Mustard-Braised Chicken sounds amazing, as does the Salmon with Citrus Butter Sauce).

There's no nutritional information, although she does include total and active time, and many of the recipes include "Tasty Tips" for alternative ingredients and so forth. Some even include optional Slow Cooker directions. There are plenty of photos, although not every recipe includes one.
